About

Rick Ross on Tour

When performing, the boss of Miami trades his unassailable cool for shouting and sweat. Stalking the stage in sunglasses, Ross performs hit after hit, touching on solo tunes like "Hustlin'" and "B.M.F.," which helped transform modern hip-hop, to the collabs he's done with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, French Montana, Ace Hood and Skrillex. A rap superstar, Rick Ross has performed at Rolling Loud, Wireless Festival, Made in America, OVO Fest and at gigs across Europe and Africa. In 2011 he toured as part of Lil Wayne's I Am Music II tour and in 2019 headlined his own Port of Miami 2 tour.

Rick Ross in Concert

A titan of outsize boasts, booming bass and trunk-caving hits, Rick Ross is a hip-hop icon with one of the genre's most reliable and formidable discographies. Raised in Carol City, Florida, the artist born William Leonard Roberts II was writing and performing rhymes as early as junior high but ultimately shined as a high school football star. Working with Miami indie label Slip-N-Slide Records, he emerged as Rick Ross in 2002. After then signing to Def Jam, he became an ambassador of trap music with his bold single "Hustlin'" and platinum-certified debut Port of Miami in 2006. Ross would ultimately record with a who's who of hip-hop — Kanye West, Jay-Z, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj — and remain a consistent, bosslike presence through more than a decade of evolving hip-hop trends. His Maybach Music Group imprint helped exploding rappers like Meek Mill, Wale, French Montana and Gunplay. In 2016, he would even take a small detour into EDM with "Purple Lamborghini," a Skrillex collaboration that became the lead track on the soundtrack to Suicide Squad. In 2019, Ross released his 10th album, Port of Miami 2, also the 10th record in a row to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.

  • Rick Ross stole my newports

the show was nuts. Maino was terrible, but Red Cafe was so much fun. and of course, Rick Ross was the boss and killed it. the venue was amazing. the whole place felt like a giant sub woofer, thanks to the humongous horns in the ceiling. and they were giving away free beer, not that i wanted any because i was drunk when i got there, but just to hear free beer makes my heart dance. yeah my brother and i were tearing it up. the sound was great and the tunes kicked. the venue was pretty easy to find and we had a great time.

  • Horrible!!!

    by Toy79 on 5/6/11Paradise Theater - BronxRating: 2 out of 5

I could have arrived at 10:30 and would have been fine. The pre-show was corny and the comedian was horrible as well. Ended up leaving before the show was over.

this was a horrible concert. i spent $100 for a floor seat and i wanted my money back. i don't think rick ross was bad. i like his music. but the concert itself was a waste of time. he could have did that concert at america's pub. i only gave it a star cuz the rating wouldn't let me. giving it one star is way too much.

Saw Rick Ross as part of the Lil Wayne: I am Still Music Tour. I love RR but had never seen him live and wasn't sure what to expect - He did not disappoint, I enjoyed his set more than anyone else's that night! He was consistent and packed a lot of songs into about a half hour set. Loved when DJ Khaled came out for "Welcome To My Hood". I'd go see him again when he's touring solo.

  • Lack-Luster

by briankcmo on 3/19/11Sprint center - Kansas CityRating: 2 out of 5

Disappointed that Rick showed up an hour and a half late which caused everyone to have to listen to some bogus dj for 2 hours! Then they had Soulja Boi open, some no name local guy next, monica (which was great) and rick (which was good too). The sprint center wasn't even 35% full and the performers practically had a family reunion with all their friends on stage watching them. No background just a dj. I was not impressed. Obviously the tickets were dirt cheap but still (i payed 130/each for 4 floor tickets 4th row from the stage). Either way, i was surprised that the Teflon Don wasn't worth it!

I had a horrible time. I didn't expect to pay money to see an artist sing along to tracks on a laptop. This was my first bad experience. I probably won't be seeing this artist again. I expected at least a live band. Then one of the opening acts didn't even show up and the other was having so many technical difficulties with the equipment.

  • Sand Jamz Was Okay

by KEM2007 on 3/14/11American Bank Center Arena - Corpus ChristiRating: 2 out of 5

I was hoping the stage, lighting and effects would have brought out the performances better. So the show was okay not all that.

  • Amateur night in C city!

by Imtheone on 3/14/11American Bank Center Arena - Corpus ChristiRating: 2 out of 5

Wow! Could the show have been any worse? At $90 a ticket, I expected much more of a show from these big names. It was amateur night for sure. Nothing but a black curtain with the local radio station logo on the back. No lights, no show. Very much a disappointment.

  • only if your a huge fan

by 702RED on 3/14/11Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

The tickets were way too expensive for 1 performer & only 2 hours. Waited over an hour for the show to start & it ended in less than 2 hours. Was NOT worth $100 each!!!

  • Rick Ross was great...

by VegasQtPie on 3/12/11Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Let me first say the show was originally scheduled for 10pm and then they changed the time to 9pm. Rick Ross didn't come out until about 10:30, 10:45. Once he came out it was on. He actually rapped his songs, not over the album which I really enjoyed. Of course he did BMF and many songs from Ashes to Ashes. It was cool and he kept the audience into it.

The event was memorable, This was my first Rap concert and Ireally enjoyed it. The music was pumping and the crowd was into it. The crowd was also ruly and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Rick gave us our moneys worth and I would most definately attend another one of his concerts in the future.
