About

Rick Ross on Tour

When performing, the boss of Miami trades his unassailable cool for shouting and sweat. Stalking the stage in sunglasses, Ross performs hit after hit, touching on solo tunes like "Hustlin'" and "B.M.F.," which helped transform modern hip-hop, to the collabs he's done with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, French Montana, Ace Hood and Skrillex. A rap superstar, Rick Ross has performed at Rolling Loud, Wireless Festival, Made in America, OVO Fest and at gigs across Europe and Africa. In 2011 he toured as part of Lil Wayne's I Am Music II tour and in 2019 headlined his own Port of Miami 2 tour.

Rick Ross in Concert

A titan of outsize boasts, booming bass and trunk-caving hits, Rick Ross is a hip-hop icon with one of the genre's most reliable and formidable discographies. Raised in Carol City, Florida, the artist born William Leonard Roberts II was writing and performing rhymes as early as junior high but ultimately shined as a high school football star. Working with Miami indie label Slip-N-Slide Records, he emerged as Rick Ross in 2002. After then signing to Def Jam, he became an ambassador of trap music with his bold single "Hustlin'" and platinum-certified debut Port of Miami in 2006. Ross would ultimately record with a who's who of hip-hop — Kanye West, Jay-Z, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj — and remain a consistent, bosslike presence through more than a decade of evolving hip-hop trends. His Maybach Music Group imprint helped exploding rappers like Meek Mill, Wale, French Montana and Gunplay. In 2016, he would even take a small detour into EDM with "Purple Lamborghini," a Skrillex collaboration that became the lead track on the soundtrack to Suicide Squad. In 2019, Ross released his 10th album, Port of Miami 2, also the 10th record in a row to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.

  • Rick Ross KILLED IT!!!!

by Drive on 4/5/10Showcase Live - FoxboroRating: 5 out of 5

The wait to get in was pretty long, but once in the venue it was worth it. The opening acts didn't start until around 10. MASSPIKE MILES did his thing and tore it down. But, when RICK ROSS hit the stage there was a whole different vibe, and he smashed it!!! The wait for him to hit the stage was well worth it. I was a big RICK ROSS fan before, but now, nobody can tell me anyting bad about ROSS!!!

  • Unorganized, and EXTREMELY late!

by JazCasa on 4/4/10Showcase Live - FoxboroRating: 1 out of 5

Not only was the show almost 4 hours late! But it seemed a bit unorganized! The venu was over packed! The crowd was rowdy, and security was minimal! Not sure if I'd purchase tickets to this particular location again!

  • Rick Ross was the only good part of this show

by DJCue on 4/3/10Showcase Live - FoxboroRating: 2 out of 5

DJ G-Spin from 94.5 was miserable. worst DJ i've ever seen at a live performance, might as well have been playing a half-ass playlist. The Roxbury boy's were decent, but there was so many of them that I couldn't tell what the hell was going on up on stage. Then we had some other half ass DJ that was better than G-Spin, but still very shotty. Had a Gun sound effect that he played about 10 times a song. real weak. Then Masspike Miles put the crowd to sleep, legit no one even bobbing their heads to any song he sang. Finally the Boss made an appearance and the crowd showed the first sign of life all night. He was the only good thing about the entire show, and we had to wait around 6 hours after doors opened for him to show up. They are lucky he played a good set list because otherwise the entire night would have sucked.

  • Show starts at 8PM - Rick's on stage at 12???

by Ananonymous on 4/3/10Showcase Live - FoxboroRating: 1 out of 5

Just a terrible show. Nice venue, though. The show started at midnight, his entourage overpowered the staged, he had a local rapper performing 1/4 of his songs. When I saw 1/4 I mean they would go less than halfway into a song, stop and go into a discussion. If you came to see Rick Ross - you wasted your money. If you came to pay an overpriced cover to a bar, then okay.

  • rick ross at showcase live

by jmacnurse on 4/3/10Showcase Live - FoxboroRating: 2 out of 5

showcase live is tiny, for one, show didnt start til at least 10pm and didnt finish til like 110am, then rick ross only performed not even half the time that guy masspike miles did, and it was supposed to be ross' concert. overall very disappointed!!!!

  • outstanding performance

by Latisha on 7/14/09Jones Convocation Center At Chicago State University - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

The artists were outstanding but the tun out to show support for them sucked. More advertising should have ben done because the stadium looked terrible and empty. No seating arrangements were followed because there was really no one there.

  • Dissapointing

by BigSmooth on 7/14/09Nashville Municipal Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 1 out of 5

Show was very disappointing. It looked like it was just thrown together at the last minute. This is the worst concert I have ever been to. I think it could have been better organized. I think there were too many local acts performing before the Main Event.

  • Oj da juiceman

by Blubird on 7/13/09Jones Convocation Center At Chicago State University - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

  • rick ross live-not ready!

by boney on 7/13/09Jones Convocation Center At Chicago State University - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

This concert was about empty. No one showed up! da juice man handled his business, but Rick Ross the hottest on cd right now is not ready to do live shows. He came out at 1:00am by then there was about 3 rows left in the stadium. his show was sloppy.. maybe because no one was there to here it. Rick is great but needs some work on stage.

  • Longest, worst concert I've ever seen

by Mulv on 7/13/09Jones Convocation Center At Chicago State University - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

The show started at 7 PM and I left at literally 1 AM....6 HOURS into the show... when they announced yet another intermission. my friend and i left before Rick Ross even got to the stage because it dragged on for so long and was so terrible. twista was good, thats about it.
