About

Rick Ross on Tour

When performing, the boss of Miami trades his unassailable cool for shouting and sweat. Stalking the stage in sunglasses, Ross performs hit after hit, touching on solo tunes like "Hustlin'" and "B.M.F.," which helped transform modern hip-hop, to the collabs he's done with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, French Montana, Ace Hood and Skrillex. A rap superstar, Rick Ross has performed at Rolling Loud, Wireless Festival, Made in America, OVO Fest and at gigs across Europe and Africa. In 2011 he toured as part of Lil Wayne's I Am Music II tour and in 2019 headlined his own Port of Miami 2 tour.

Rick Ross in Concert

A titan of outsize boasts, booming bass and trunk-caving hits, Rick Ross is a hip-hop icon with one of the genre's most reliable and formidable discographies. Raised in Carol City, Florida, the artist born William Leonard Roberts II was writing and performing rhymes as early as junior high but ultimately shined as a high school football star. Working with Miami indie label Slip-N-Slide Records, he emerged as Rick Ross in 2002. After then signing to Def Jam, he became an ambassador of trap music with his bold single "Hustlin'" and platinum-certified debut Port of Miami in 2006. Ross would ultimately record with a who's who of hip-hop — Kanye West, Jay-Z, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj — and remain a consistent, bosslike presence through more than a decade of evolving hip-hop trends. His Maybach Music Group imprint helped exploding rappers like Meek Mill, Wale, French Montana and Gunplay. In 2016, he would even take a small detour into EDM with "Purple Lamborghini," a Skrillex collaboration that became the lead track on the soundtrack to Suicide Squad. In 2019, Ross released his 10th album, Port of Miami 2, also the 10th record in a row to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.

  • Waste of time

by wasteotime on 5/18/12Boardwalk Hall - ACRating: 1 out of 5

Many corny acts before main acts. Wannabe artists with 50 people on stage ruined my night. By the time Rick Ross was on he barely rapped and was over maybe an hour after coming out.

  • Mayback Music Tour was the worse!

    by DisappointedFan820 on 5/18/12Pontiac Silverdome - PontiacRating: 1 out of 5

Concert time was at 7pm, but the 3 of them (Wale, Meek Mills and Rick Ross) did not come on stage till 11:45pm. 11:45!!! We were all tired of waiting. The crowd started booing close to 11pm. The MCs left the stage and then, the stadium grew very quiet. We just sat and waited, in the cold. By midnight, people started walking out, like the concert was over, but it wasn't. Waste of my money. And to think I dragged 7 other people to come with me to the show. Very Disappointed in the 3 of them. I can't even listen to their music anymore.

It took 4 hours for Rick Ross to come out. During that 4 hours, many unknown artists (if you were not from the area) performed. I was very unhappy.

  • WORST CONCERT EVER!!!!!!

by AmberCandy on 5/4/12Pontiac Silverdome - PontiacRating: 1 out of 5

First let me start by saying that I did not pay $70 to see Detroit artists perform for four hours. Second, once the main acts of the Maybach Music Tour finally got on stage at 11:35 PM (the concert started at 7:00 PM), they only performed for about 40 minutes and they mostly performed other artists' songs they had a cameo on! Last but not least, there was absolutely no heat on in the Pontiac Silverdome where the event was held. I will never attend another Maybach Music Concert or ANY event held at the Pontiac Silverdome!!! HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!

The performers took too long to make appearance, I understand that the performers are not going to perform at 7 because the show starts at 7, but coming out at almost 12 midnight is ridiculous. They were not very good performers, was not moved by the performance.

  • Maybach Music

by KishaB on 5/3/12Pontiac Silverdome - PontiacRating: 1 out of 5

Couldn't believe that I spent over a hundred dollars and received that kind of show. If it says it starts at 7p and I'm late and still no one has performed I feel that to already be a disappointment. I then spent an additional $20 to take a picture. A real picture wouldve been nice being that they didn't perform but an hour. However that didn't happen either. What a DISAPPOINTMENT. Ive seen Erykah Badu, India Arie, Tyrese, Queen Katifah, Ludacrus and such artist and they put in a show! In Chene Park (Detroit) for less than the cost of two tickets. Team DO BETTER MAYBACH.

  • Really Maybach Music

by KishaB on 5/3/12Pontiac Silverdome - PontiacRating: 1 out of 5

Doors open @ 6p concert started @ 7p. . The concert didn't really start until 11:15p and I was confident it wouldn't last more than a hour. Just as expected it wasn't and Rick Ross kept stating "It just wouldn't be right if I..." No it really wasnt right! :( everything was oh so wrong!!!

  • Expected so much more from Rick Ross!!!

by LouBooJu on 5/2/12Pontiac Silverdome - PontiacRating: 1 out of 5

This concert was unbelievably horrible! It seems as if it were put together with a two hundred dollar budget. The stage was extra small, and the opening acts stayed on stage for three hours before MMG came out. It was supposed to start at 7pm, the opening acts didn't get on the stage until 9pm. Rick Ross didn't get on stage until about midnight, and him, Wale, and Meek Mills all rapped to songs OVER their own voices! No live music. They didn't do any of their hit individual songs, and their acts were horrible.

The show started 3 hours late, which messed up the rest of my birthday. plans:(

  • Better think twice,never again

by Jahne on 5/2/12Pontiac Silverdome - PontiacRating: 1 out of 5

Worst ever nothing was together.the only way I would see Wale again is if he is by himself. Pioneer Ent. did not have it together none what so ever. Took my older sister and she said "for this to be my 1st show I will never go to another on." They didn't even stay for their own after party that was an extra 40 bucks.
