About

Lewis has taken his lifelong therapy fodder and carved it into a commanding, compelling art form. A NY Post article noted; "Richard Lewis built the strongest stand-up comedy career on a blazing trail of neuroses since Woody Allen." Comedy Central has recognized Mr. Lewis as one of the top 50 stand-up comedians of all time and he was charted on GQ Magazine's list of the '20th Century's Most Influential Humorists'.

SAG nominated Lewis for his work in the ensemble category for his recurring guest star role, playing true-to-life as one of Larry David's closest friends in "Curb Your Enthusiasm," the Seinfeld co-creator's hit HBO series. The show has garnered many awards to include over six Emmy nominations and high praise.

With scores of other guest acting appearances in TV series and films he tries to be as diverse as possible in his choices from appearing on such shows as "2 1/2 Men" and an arc in the new series, 'Til Death" starring Emmy Award winning Brad Garrett . He's been featured in the season finale of A&E's "The Cleaner," portraying a junkie with his life very much on the line. Other guest starring stints have included "The Dead Zone," "Alias," and "Seventh Heaven." He mixes it up between heaven and hell so to speak. Yet, most close to his heart was his four year run in ABC's critically acclaimed series "Anything But Love," co-starring with Jamie Lee Curtis, "Anything but Love", now out on DVD with Volume One of the four year situation comedy. Late night TV viewers and media junkies in general are familiar with his frequent guest appearances. He may hold title to having the most late night appearances, chalking up well over 100 appearances with Dave, Jay, Conan, Jon, Stern, Ferguson and Maher.

In December of 1989, Lewis achieved a very personal goal...he performed at Carnegie Hall to a standing room only audience. To close, in his own words--"I go on a long tour and make people happy that they're not me and go home."

Spike and the Impalers were great

    by ballardite on 12/19/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Loved the musical portion but Richard Lewis was a bit of a disappointment. Had his rablings only gone on for a shorter time it might have been funnier but he lost the audience after a while.

    Worth the money

    by TPvirgin on 12/18/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Bob Rivers & gang did not disappoint. What amazing guitar players. Bob son had the honors of being the opening act. Very funny. I enjoyed him much more than Richard Lewis, whom I found to be too odd. My husband enjoyed the night and said he wants to go again next year. I was expecting a few twisted songs. That was even in the title. Kinda disappointed about that. Really the young guitarist was awesome though.

    Bob Rivers Twisted Christmas Rocked!!!

    by BDgone on 12/18/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

This is the first time I have gone to a Bob Rivers event, and it certainly will not be the last. The show was started off by up and coming comedian Andrew Rivers, then followed by the wonderful Richard Lewis, whom I swear was speaking to only me during much of the show! He still has it. What a treat. Then to be entertained by the awesome music of Spike & the Impalers with all the different guest was just great. Fantastic. Also what a magical thing to do at Christmas time, but sponser less fortunate children through World Vision. This was truly the best show I've seen in a long long time.

If it wasn't for Bob River's son opening for Richard there would'nt be a comedy act. First time to see Spike and the Impalers. I brought a veteran friend of mine who is recovering from cancer and he and I really enjoyed the rock concert. Joe had me in tears....Great job to Bob Rivers, Spike, Joe and the rest of the cast.

    Rivers/Lewis/Spike

    by anonymouslocalguy on 12/18/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Andrew Rivers did an outstanding job of getting the crowd laughing and then Richard Lewis started to bring the house down with his insightful comedy. Spike and the rest of the local rock and rollers brought the house down with their versions of the "best of". This is a show that will not soon be surpassed................until their next one!!!

Spike & the Impalers are truly entertaining

    by Karrina on 12/17/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

We have been several times to see Spike and/or Twisted Christmas. this was truly enjoyable. A few things were not. Honestly, the show would have been better without Richard Lewis...just not my type of comedian. Andrew was refreshing and wonderful and would have been a better headliner. Did not come for Richard Lewis, came for Spike and the Impalers. Although the band and all its members were so entertaining and immensely talented (love music), I was looking forward to some Twisted Christmas songs...but there were none. Kaci is a great performer, but could someone find her a new outfit and new moves?!! Hey, just had to throw that in!

Fun night of comedy and music

    by hobartgal on 12/17/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Richard Lewis gave a funny and off beat performance. He is a little hard to follow, but I enjoyed him. Bob River's son did a great job, and I think he has a great career ahead of him. Spike and the Impalers and their many guests were great. I could tell all the musicians really loved what they were doing. I was in the second section of seating and the sound was a little garbled at times, I couldn't tell if it was the mix or the acoustics in the room. Overall a great night out for a good cause. Count me in for next year!

    Bob Rivers Twisted Xmas

    by Hkmp5sd on 12/17/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

This was our third Twisted Xmas. Love Bob and the gang. They always put on a good show. Richard Lewis was funny as hell and Bob's son Andrew is well on his way to a comedy career.

    A little rough

    by FriendsofSpike on 12/17/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I've been to a lot of their shows, and this one was not one of their best. I think they really miss Dudley and the girl from Hell's Belle's. Love Lynn, but White Wedding didn't work. I do wish they'd give up their Boss stuff, but I know that'll never happen. Would have loved more VanHalen and for the love of all that's holy, play Kashmere(sp)! Lewis started slowly but ended up very funny. I have never seen him perform before so I didn't know what to expect from a live show.

    Richard Lewis / JB Smoove

by LittleManElvis on 2/22/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

JB opened the show with non stop f'bombs that lasted throughout the entire show. I think he threw more f'bombs in 45 minutes than the movie Casino had in 3 hours. To put in into 2 words, he "f'bomb sucked" Richard on the other hand is a seasoned comic. He's brilliant. He brought me to tears from laughing so hard. He has such a unique style that can only be enjoyed by chosen few. I hope the next time Richard goes on tour, JB isn't with him.

Richard was good but was turned off by JB

by Anonymous on 2/22/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I love to laugh but was hard with JB using the F bomb for every other word in his performance. I don't mind a swear every now and then but it's hard to laugh at only that word. It set a negative tone for the entire evening.

JB Smoove made me want to crawl under the seats!

by Zipson on 2/22/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I was with my mother! I didnt relax through his blue set until I realized she was laughing her ass off! She said the same thing about me. We knew he was blue but he was purple! But funnnnny! Richard Lewis is always a pleasure to see. He is a favorite and I am sure I will see him again.

    Lewis/JB just ok

    by bt23 on 2/21/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

JB Smoove did the same routine he did last year at the Wilbur, so what was so funny about that? Not much. He could have done better. Richard Lewis was pretty funny...much better than last year when he completely drew a blank about 3/4 of the way through the routine. Much more lucid this year...good effort by RL.

    JB SMOOTH IS FUNNY!

    by ARM74 on 2/21/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

JB SMOOTH stole the show. He was much funnier than I had expected. He should come back again, but be the headliner.

    2 'headliners'

by eseseses on 2/21/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Apparently, JB Smoove went on immediately @ 7:30 (overall show start time) and performed for about 25 mins. Showed up @ 8pm to see he was already done. Very disappointing, as there are always openers and for a Friday show getting home from work, etc....it sort of ruined the experience
