In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway… and forever changed the landscape of American theatre. Two decades later, Jonathan Larson’s RENT continues to speak loudly and defiantly to audiences across generations and all over the world. And now, this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®-winning masterpiece returns to the stage in a vibrant 20th anniversary touring production. A re-imagining of Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters—love.

It was great to be able to enter a theater and see such amazing talent live. The show does not disappoint, and I love the live band aspect to this particular show.
As a huge and long time fan of Rent, I had high expectations for this show. I am so pleased to say that I was completely blown away by the talent of this cast and crew. Incredible voices, emotional performances, just all around incredible! If you love Rent, you NEED to see this production. Just. Remarkable.
They announced the show was cancelled as we arrived and refunds would be given. I have contacted both the box office and ticket master no response. Highly disappointed.
The performance was just terrific: great voices, wonderful dancing, excellent live music. And, the venue is fabulous. Wish they were coming back. Had seen the original on Broadway 20+ years ago and this lied up to every memory. Would definitely see again.
The show was amazing! Great voices and dancing scenes!! Best performance by far then the other 2 times I’ve seen it! The seats at the venue were not! I couldn’t see the stage clearly , I had to keep going back and forth between the ladies head in front of me. The gentleman next to me had to switch seats with his wife because there was a taller gentlemen in front of her. It was just distracting watching people bob their heads from side to side.
Rent is always AMAZING, but this venue wasn't. The seats aren't staggered in every row so we were left not being able to see over the people in front of us. In the second act we moved to seats that weren't taken and the person behind me kicked my seat the entire time. Probably because he couldn't see!
The venue is amazing. It’s built for the arts so the sound quality was spot on AND all proceeds benefit the middle school. How fantastic is that! So great to see our young adults experiencing the arts again.
This was the first time I have seen RENT and I LOVED it!!!! I hope it isn't really the Farewell Tour because I want to see it again!!! I have been playing the soundtrack since I saw the show. The cast was fabulous! The show left me wanted to know more about the characters!
I think the farewell show was a perfect blend of the motion picture and the classic Broadway show. I loved so many of the main characters. It was a really good performance
Production was good, singing was excellent. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has seen this in the past (stage or film).
My only complaint is the show started 15 minutes late which jeopardized our dinner reservations. The show itself was fantastic! The music, singing, clarity was great. I recently went to a show in another venue in DC and could not understand what the actors were saying or singing. It was rather muffled and others had the same complaints who had gone at different times. This rendition of Rent was just as good as the movie and the actual one I saw in New York years back. Great cast!!
I had awesome seats and was able to see everything close up. The cast was awesome will go to see show again in a different state.
One of the BEST Broadway shows of all time. After seeing it for the sixth time including twice with the original Broadway cast. The 25th anniversary tour was a true tribute! This new young cast brought the story and music to life once again with love and energy! Awesome experience!
Don't pay the extra money for seat F9! This is not a complaint against the play! I'm only taking away one star because the play and staff were great. I'm upset about paying a lot of money for a very bad view. Just had one of those dumb luck situations. Everything was seemless until the show started. The majority of the scenes center around the table in the center right facing the stage. An average sized man sitting in front and slightly to the right was enought to block my view for 75% of the play. I was bobbing left and right just to see and by intermission my neck and back were in pain. I'm sure the play was good but was too distracted to fully take it in. My daughter and her friend loved it! I did appreciate the staff offering me the paid for but empty seats at the end of the center row near me. They said if no one showed up by the end of a particular song, I could sit there. Unfortunately the owners claimed their seats. I realize no one could anticipate this. I just want other people to consider this when buying tickets for seat F9 to Rent in this venue.
This play was imho horrible. I knew I wouldn’t like it from the first notes delivered in the opening scene. First of all it was difficult to decipher what the actors were saying/singing. Hence it was difficult to figure out the plot. It was even difficult to find the play’s summary in the playbill. I didn’t like the music either. I have enjoyed many a high school play much more than this play…which I didn’t enjoy at all. Save your money as they say.
Call me the old fogey I am. I had never gotten round to seeing Rent years ago, but got more interested this year after seeing TicK Tick Boom. I was hoping not to find it too loud and frenetic… but alas. All the performers were outstanding. Much of the music was good and dancing as well. But, as is so common nowadays there was too much orchestration and it was TOO loud. That means, for me at least, most lyrics sounded garbled …. Making even this simplest of plots difficult to follow…
It was a wonderful production. I wish the show was in town longer so I could see it again.
It was a great production of one of my favorite musicals! I brought a friend who had never seen it, and she enjoyed it as well.
This was my third and last time seeing it since it’s the final tour. It was so awesome! I was so moved by the genuineness of the performers. I cried several times. I wish them on the best on their future projects!!
