About

Daughter of a music professor; trained classically in her home country of Russia, Regina's passion for music was clear from childhood.  Once she completed her studies she moved to the Bronx, New York and her life has never been the same. Influenced by her Russian and Jewish roots, as well her new love for the city Regina's songwriting took off. It was in the underground music scene of the East Village where she found fame. Still, her music is always evolving, channeling  influences like Chopin, Janis Joplin, to experimenting with unusual instruments and vocal styles, Regina never ceases to surprise.
After a number of self-funded and distributed albums, she finally got her first proper release in 2004 when Warner Brothers re-released her 2003 self-released album Soviet Kitsch. She released the highly anticipated follow-up album, Begin To Hope, in 2006. The single from the album, "Fidelity", was a big hit and helped the album peak at number 20 in the US Billboard chart. Her fifth full album, Titled Far, was a smash hit, it entered the US charts at number three and raised Regina's profile worldwide. In 2010 she performed at President Obama's reception at the White House. Her latest album, titled What We Saw from the Cheap Seats also entered the US album chart at number three.

Regina first toured nationally with The Strokes and this was quickly followed by a tour supporting The Kings of Leon, where she played in front of many famous venues at max capacity, like the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. A series of headline theater shows followed the release of the album Far and in recent years she has made frequent appearances during the European Summer Festival season. Away from music, Regina does a great deal of work for human rights charities and has raised money for Doctors Without Borders helping earthquake victims.

    Like no other.

    by Kristina Bianchini on 8/8/23

She was alone on stage. Just her voice and the piano. Which made the whole thing all the more impressive, because it may as well have been an orchestra and a chorus. I think she is one of the most talented and original artists of our generation.

    Excellent show

    by Eric on 8/4/23

Regina put on a fantastic show. Very engaging and fun. She played many of her most popular songs to an appreciative crowd. The sound mixing and acoustics were excellent at the Kodak Center (as I have come to expect) and emphasized by regina’s a capella opening number. She couldn’t have sounded better. Great night!

    10/10. No notes.

Regina Spektor is perfect, always has been, always will be. I could have been watching the show from a dumpster and still would have had the best night of my life. Thank you TM for actually having reasonable fees for this one, too.

    She is loved!!!

    by Jon S on 8/4/23

I've liked RS ever since I bought her very first album, but I've never seen her live. That's not to be missed. A single person on stage for over 90 minutes without a break. You can't NOT love her! The amount of talent she exudes is riduculous. She is so smart, funny, and adorable, covering every emotion that life throws at us. No gimmicks, no WAP, no solid gold dancers, just her! And no one can take their eyes off of her.

Regina Spektor is as beautiful and sweet as I hoped

    by Chrissy on 8/4/23

This show far exceeded my expectations. The entire show was just Regina Spektor on her own. She sang a capella, accompanied herself on a grand piano, or accompanied herself on a keyboard. She played a range of songs from all of her albums. Her introductions of the different tracks were very sweet, and her stage presence overall was very endearing. At one point she made a mistake and re-started a song, and she handled it with such grace. Genuinely, it was a great example of how to speak kindly to yourself when you make a mistake. The audio quality in the venue was incredible and the lighting design was also very cool.

    Spektor is beautiful, baby. Beautiful!

    by JimT on 8/2/23

The venue is nice, comfortable seats and close to the stage. Spektor is among the most innovative talents on the music scene for today or any era. Her song choice was a crowd pleaser and laced which her innovation. Warm and sweet was the stage presence that I saw and loved.

    Excellent concert and venue

    by 00CPA on 8/2/23

I saw Regina in 2017 in Cincinnati at Taft Theater, which is a smaller venue than Andrew Brady (4500 seats). The larger venue was as intimate as was the smaller venue and Regina provides a concert that is best enjoyed where she can connect with her audience. Great evening with a special artist.

    Wonderful Show

    by Chris on 8/2/23

Regina Spektor did a wonderful concert Sunday night. She worked in a number of requests she had received before the show and engaged the audience well. Her songs are great as are her vocal and piano skills. Well worth the drive, I live a distance away from Cincinnati.

    True Artist

    by Rob B on 8/2/23

My first concert at the Cincinnati Andrew J Brady Music Center. Regina sounded wonderful and played a comprehensive set. The Venue had excellent acoustics and the view was great from the first balcony. Parking was easy and ended up being free on a Sunday night which was a nice surprise.

    Excellent!

    by Micahel on 8/2/23

Regina's performance almost felt (in the very best of ways) like attending the show of a friend. She talked to her audience. She reacted to a few of the shout-outs. She performed older songs from her catalog that Cincinnati fans had requested. She messed up a couple times and giggled about it. Oh, and she happens to be RIDICULOUSLY talented. At one point she was playing the keyboard with one hand, drumming on a wooden chair with the other, and singing all at once.

Remarkable voice, affable presence, exudes confidence

    by Len-doc on 3/18/23Warner Theatre - Washington

Starts with an acapella song and provides her own percussion when appropriate, She renders colorful images with her storytelling. Beautiful blending with her piano and creative use of her voice.
