    Excellent concert; outstanding soloist

by J Mike on 1/30/19Southern Theatre - Columbus

The Southern Theater is a wonderful venue for concerts, with great acoustics and accommodating size. ProMusica concerts are well programmed. In this case with Haydn's trumpet concerto, played by a Norwegian soloist (name escapes me); she was incredibly good!

    Pride & prowess

    by Pjone8 on 10/17/18Southern Theatre - Columbus

The Southern Theatre itself is a source of acoustic wonder & eyeful splendor. That said, it is on par with our significant & splendidly acclaimed chamber orchestra. The music was challenging, emotional, & still accessible for enjoyment. The triple concerto was masterful, entertaining, & demanding of an encore. It was a wonderful celebration of a 40-year endeavor by the orchestra.

    Excellent concert

by Sideral on 5/15/18Southern Theatre - Columbus

Program included two Beethoven pieces, which, for us, by itself means it's a great concert. Interpretation was superb: Vadin Gluzman as soloist and the ProMusica Columbus orchestra.

Well into the top 5 concerts of my entire life!

    by KristenB4 on 3/5/18Southern Theatre - Columbus

Easily one of the top 5 concerts in my entire life, and I've seen a lot of concerts! He was AMAZING. I cried multiple times and I rarely cry at concerts....only the truly incredible ones! A perfect mix of classics and new stuff, three Hamilton songs, a beautiful tribute to Nat King Cole....I could go on. Thank you to ProMusica for giving Columbus this experience and thank you to Leslie Odom Jr. and his band for their truly beautiful concert.

    Another ProMusica soiree success!

by GaryJF on 2/13/18Southern Theatre - Columbus

ProMusica outdid themselves again with their annual "spring soiree fundraising concert." Leslie Odom is a true artist with great talent and personality. His accompanying combo were amazing professional performers as well, and the ProMusica chamber orchestra was outstanding as always!

Leslie Odom Jr Soiree was nothing short of amazing

by ettiechang on 2/13/18Southern Theatre - Columbus

Classy and tasteful set. Combination of the symphony with Leslie Odom Jr's voice was incredible. Hope to see more acts like this come through Columbus.

    Incredible

by DaveClubb on 2/13/18Southern Theatre - Columbus

An incredible night. Leslie Odom, Jr. took on a journey of Classic Nat King Cole, Hamilton, Broadway, and his own signature songs. He sprinkled the show with anecdotes from his life experiences and was as humble as any star I’ve ever heard. His voice soared and soared along with his talented backup band. We look forward to many more concerts and new albums from him.

    Northern Lights

by NavCenter on 1/24/18Southern Theatre - Columbus

The Bach was mezmorizing - the violin, harpsichord and flute soloists performed with energy and joy. The work by Vask, "Distant Light", was new to me (I appreciate the blending of the new and the familiar in ProMusic programs) and the orchestra and Vadim Gluzman left me emotionally exhilirated. It was the first time I felt physically affected by a classical music performance. Bravo ProMusica!

    Moving

    by Bob555 on 1/24/18Southern Theatre - Columbus

Gluzman never disappoints but this performance was way better than my expectations. It didn't feel right to applaud the T'filah - one doesn't applaud a prayer. Gluzman's performance of Vasks' Distant Light had me in tears. The orchestra, usually very good, was exceptional. They seemed to resonate with Gluzman and play up to his amazing standard.

    Excellent, Innovative Evening

    by Dave427 on 4/24/17Southern Theatre - Columbus

Great stuff! Extremely engaging and entertaining. Learned more in the 45 minute first part of the event than I would have from a semester of a traditional music appreciation course. Great music. Entertaining. Educational. I will be looking for more "Naked Classics" events.

    Consistently delivers

    by Pjone8 on 2/14/17Southern Theatre - Columbus

As always, the venue enhanced the pitch-perfect sound of the orchestra and the playing was simply wonderful. The show, in total, was entertaining for my novice guests and held the attention of more experienced listeners, too.

    Love ProMusica!

    by slh1078 on 11/16/16Southern Theatre - Columbus

This small ensemble is a gem in our city that I doubt has any equal anywhere else. I'm thrilled that they will introduce themselves to a larger audience in Chicago this summer. This particular concert was everything I expected and more. And as a bonus, the performers and conductor did an informal Q&A session after the concert for anyone who wanted to participate. Kudos to them - after the second performance in two days, I'm sure they were pretty exhausted.

    Great program, well executed

The guitar soloist was excellent and the orchestra played at their usual high level

    Awesome!

    by ClassicalFan43204 on 5/17/16Southern Theatre - Columbus

An excellent performance. I was very touched to see and hear the middle school students' opening numbers and the very warm response from the audience. And then the Prokofiev and Schubert was fantastic.

    Great evening

by Serdonenterprises on 4/19/16Southern Theatre - Columbus

For starters, I wasn't sure if my date was I to this stuff as I had never been either. So I went on a wimb and got 2 upper balcony tickets for a great price. Staff here was excellent but a bit hasty when my ticketmaster app wouldn't read my finger print. Moved to the side and it worked great. Atmosphere was great and clean. Just as other reviews stated. Upper balcony is not for tall people. I'm 5'10" and it was at the limit in front row. Great acoustics up there and saw everything just fine. I have already recommended it to several others for the venue..

    Stunning artistry

by Anonymous on 2/16/16Southern Theatre - Columbus

The Steep Canyon Rangers are virtuoso musicians as talented as anyone in the orchestra. Great arrangements where orchestra supported but didn't detract from SCR music. Enjoyed it very much.

Steep Canyon Ranger & ProMusica were great

by SCRfan on 2/16/16Southern Theatre - Columbus

As enjoyable as last falls Steep Canyon Rangers and the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center. Excellent performance by ProMusica.

Roman proves to be noteworthy composer and cellist

    by dkb2go on 1/27/16Southern Theatre - Columbus

Truly enjoyable an concert. Appreciated the pre-concert exchange between David and Joshua. Having the composer/artist's insights on the original piece had a meaningful impact.
