Such a neat experience! Love it! Can't wait for the next one.
A charming music historian undresses the classics with images of the score and live excerpts to illustrate the musical genius of Mozart. Looking forward to the next reveal!
The Pro Musica’s Handel’s Messiah with the Lancaster Chorale was one of the best production I’ve ever heard! The historic, intimate atmosphere of the Southern Theater was the perfect venue for perfect acoustics and feeling the passion of the Messiah. Bravo to the magnificent soloists as well! A truly moving experience. Thank you!
Thank you ProMusica for a wonderful evening! We had a group of eight and thoroughly enjoyed the performance. My friends said it was an awesome time.
I have had the pleasure of hearing “The Messiah” several times in the past. Saturday night’s performance was the best yet! Tight and precise…the orchestra invited me in and I enjoyed every minute.
Martina Filjak played the Beethoven Piano Concerto with amazing style and seemingly effortless effort while the orchestra accompaniment kept pace perfectly. Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony showed the tightness and togetherness of the musicians that made this season finale a fitting end to a marvelous season.
Great experience. First time and the acoustics were wonderful, parking is very convenient. Music was great. Will definitely go back.
Joshua Roman and Vadim Gluzman joined the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in an outstanding program of new and old classics. Part of ProMusica's Composer/Performer Project, Roman composed a new double concerto called "Confluence" that the two soloists played to a standing ovation. Gluzman also masterfully performed Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor. The orchestra added Golijov's Last Round and Haydn's Symphony #94 to cap off an evening of sublime and inspiring music.
The triple concerto with Marc on cello, Katie on violin, and Spencer Myers on piano was sublime. Their connection throughout the piece was impeccable and especially noteworthy given that this piece was a late replacement for a commission that wasn't completed in time due to the pandemic and other issues. The rest of the program was also excellent.
Simone Dinnerstein and ProMusica presented an outstanding program of three pieces by Bach and Philip Glass' Piano Concerto #3 on Sunday night in the Southern Theatre. Dinnerstein led the ProMusica string sections from the piano while demonstrating her complete mastery of the pieces. The orchestra's accompaniment was flawless creating a tapestry of sound that enthralled the audience from start to finish.
Great concert, lovely concert hall, and very easy procedures for the health protocols.
The two soloists, Xavier Foley and Eunice Kim, were fabulous. Xavier's composition was well-constructed and poignant, a perfect reflection on the history related to slavery and the search for justice. The orchestra's playing on Beethoven's 7th Symphony was so powerful and precise that it filled the Southern Theatre with the most energetic and balanced sound possible. Could not imagine a better start to the new season and a very welcome return to live music.
Great evening, especially the review about the unfinished symphony and Schubert. Interesting, fun and great music - who could ask for more? Thank you
Great night. Great venue. Not sure why we needed to stand in line for will call tickets when our seat numbers were printed on receipts on phone.
Orchestra did a yoeman's job on this tough piece, but choir slowed conductor down too much in fourth movement. Didn't need the voice pieces in the first half of concert. I came to hear Beethoven. Got scammed at first by an outfit called "Master Ticket," not Ticketmaster. Watch out!!!
great performance. nice acoustics. chorus was stellar. came back the next night. bravo!
An amazing performance that left me unable to stand after it was through. This is by far one of the best performances I have ever seen in my life! This is not an easy piece to perform, and each player has importance to the whole of the piece. I was haunted for hours afterwards and remain a huge fan of ProMusica Chamber Orchestra. Well done!!
the concert was great except for the person that brought their crying baby to the concert. :( Congrats to ProMusica on their 40th anniversary! :)
Bach and the Russians was a wonderful program: superb soloists, interesting comments, beautiful venue, all around excellent experience!
The Southern Theater is a wonderful venue for concerts, with great acoustics and accommodating size. ProMusica concerts are well programmed. In this case with Haydn's trumpet concerto, played by a Norwegian soloist (name escapes me); she was incredibly good!
