It's like getting ready for a drag show with very entertaining numbers.
What a great experience seeing this musical. Time whirled by as performers sang, danced, paraded in extravagant costumes. This was a musical where the dialogue and the lyrics (sometimes garbled in other musicals) were easy to understand. A challenging life style was presented in a poignant, honest and sympathetic way. The music was fun and uplifting…voices and orchestra well balanced. I left with a smile on my face.
I took my 9 year old daughter with me to see the show on Friday night. We both had a great time. She really didn't know what to expect but the moment the first performance started she was hooked! It really went beyond my expectations. Highly recommended for the whole family. The cast was outstanding, the music, the costumes, everything spotless!
I wish I could have afforded to sit closer, but the sound was great, costumes over the top and talent was absolutely terrific. I was surprised that the audience was primarily seniors...who seemed to roll in the aisle like the rest of us. I'd see it again next week, if I had the chance
This Show is a lot of fun, from beginning to end! The Cast was great and the sets, the music and the costumes totally over the top! Highly Recommend, certainly a fun outing.
Brilliant performances by the ensemble. Loved it, but I have to say as an Australian the Go West and the Cowboy songs thrown in were a downer. Skipping that, I enjoyed Wade McCollum, Scott Willis and Bryan West as Tick, Bernadette and Felecia. They really captured the spirit of the original cast. The cast clearly worked hard on fair dinkum accents. Fabulously funny! Thanks
I hadn't heard about Pricilla before seeing it advertised here in San Jose. I went expecting to have a good time. It was wonderful. It far surpassed my expectations. I have told several friends that they should get to see it. I would like to go again and take more friends with me. The friends that went with me enjoyed it as much as I did. They are on Facebook, I'm not, so I heard from people that saw the commentary on Facebook that if possible they would like to see it.
The dancing, the costumes, the music - really a fun show. Musicals using popular songs are fun, to see how they use the songs in the story line. The only one that just didn't fit at all was MacArthur Park - don't know why on earth they put that in there; the genre didn't fit and the song was actually opposite to the storyline. Other than that jarring note, it was fabulous.
Went with our GNO group and we all LOVED it. We all smiled all the way through, and still smiling when we think about it.
What a spectacular show! See this now! So fun and colorful! The costumes are fantastic and the whole cast superb!
And girls they want to have fun! Kudos to this beaded and sequined travelling troop, especially the sensational Wade McCollum. "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - The Musical" is a campy, award-winning Broadway show which includes the most incredible array of super tranny fierce drag costumes ever to grace the planet (or at least since the original movie debuted back in the early 90's). Gone is any reference to ABBA (replaced by star Felicia’s newly found obsession for Madonna. Yikes! Tolerable…but a tad cliché! The roll across the Australian outback is absolutely as action-packed as the movie. Everything about this amazing show is (Howard Crabtree) over the top, including the tunes (no lip-synced music in this production...they are belting out every number), the makeup, the fabulous bus (loved the PINK bus!!) along with the rest of the set (can you say, "flying singing divas"???), excellent choreography, and of course, the non-stop catty drag queen humor! Drop your mascara pencils...the finale even includes Bob and Benji in kangaroo outfits – yes, yes, yes! Do not miss this "feel good" musical – you will have a blast singing along and want to purchase future bus tickets to see Tick and Ralph again and again.
One of the most enjoyable musicals I have seen in a long time! This was the second time I saw the touring cast of this show and it just keeps getting better!!!
I have seen the same cast in San Francisco and San Jose and if I had the chance I'd see the show again! I don't know what's better, the acting, directing, singing, or costumes. They all combine to create a Tour de Force that is guaranteed to keep you smiling through the whole show. Fills the entire stage frame with movement, color and excitement.
Any Stage Musical Fan will love this show :-) The Lighting, staging, sound, and overall creativity was high end and made my experience delightful. The original movie while good is nothing compared to the energy of the live performance. A delightful evening !!
Music and costumes were great. Dialogue was difficult to understand at times. Priscilla was fantastic as stage prop
The set was amazing! The steel bus in the desert was the perfect background for all the costumes… truly amazing to watch. The show was funny and relatable to various age groups but not intended for anyone under 16.
It was fantastic! The costumes are amazing, great songs, sets are wonderful. It was an awesome show and very professional. We has such a good time and couldn't stop talking about how excelllent the show was.
A must see for anyone who loves a fun night out at the theater. The cast , costumes and sets are fantastic. The music is the best! Would see it again. Theater snobs please stay home.
The show is fantastic. It was better than the movie, actually. The costumes, sets, actors and choreography were amazing. Full of color and light. The music was fantastic, and at times brought tears to your eyes. A must-see!
What a wonderful, colorful, brilliant musical. Husband claims best play ever seen. Being from that era of music made it even more enjoyable, plus the addition of some of today's music, and the rewritten rendition of all of the songs was classic! The numerous costume changes with the psychedelic colors, feathers, head pieces, and footwear, made this show so much more enjoyable, you didn't want it to end. The special effects, and lighting were surprising, especially the paint ball colors on Priscilla during MacArthur Park. Loved it. Would do it again and again!! What feel good afternoon, not mention the touching story of a Father and his Son.
