Powerwolf on Tour

Head-banging metal meets fantasy in the epic music creation by the German-based band, Powerwolf. Powerwolf's almighty guitar work, vigorous drums and commanding vocals mixed with themes like religion, demons, vampires, and werewolves create an otherworldly experience. The group consists of guitarist Matthew Greywolf (Benjamin Buss), bassist Charles Greywolf (David Vogt), keyboardist Falk Maria Schlegel (Christian Jost), drummer Roel van Helden, and vocalist Attila Dorn (Karsten Brill). Following the release of their 2022 album, The Monumental Mass: a Cinematic Metal Event, Powerwolf commenced their 2022 European tour, making stops in Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Czechia, and Poland. Donning ghoulish makeup during their performances, Powerwolf's shows are filled with pyrotechnics as the booming voice and undeniably legendary instrumentals encompass every fan lucky enough to see them live. First emerging in the music sphere with their debut album, Return in Bloodred in 2005, Powerwolf has continued to create a slew of classic metal hit albums, including Lupus Dei (2007), Bible of the Beast (2009), Blood of the Saints (2011), Alive in the Night (2012), Preacher of the Night (2013), Blessed & Possessed (2015), Metal Mass: Live (2016), The Sacrament of Sin (2018), Call of the Wild (2021), and The Monumental Mass: a Cinematic Metal Event (2022).

Powerwolf Live in Concert

Perhaps the most successful metal band in Germany, Powerwolf was formed in 2003 by Benjamin Buss and David Vogt. The founders added Falk Maria Schlegel and former drummer Stéfane Funèbre shortly after. With all the instrumentals covered, Buss and Vogt aggressively searched for a lead singer, discovering the passionate fantasy enthusiast, Karsten Brill, in Romania. With the band fully formed, they quickly signed a deal with Napalm Records, releasing their debut album under the label. The band then signed with Metal Blade Records for North American releases. Funèbre's final album with the band was Bible of the Beast, and Helden was added to Powerwolf's lineup for their next album. Powerwolf gained immense popularity in the mid-2010s, gaining gold status on back-to-back albums, Blessed & Possessed (2015) and The Sacrament of Sin (2018), with the single, "Demons Are A Girl's Best Friend," off The Sacrament of Sin going Platinum. With more than 1.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify and top tracks "Army of the Night," "We Drink Your Blood" and "Demons Are a Girl's Best Friend" combining for more than 137 million streams, it's no surprise Powerwolf is still one of the most iconic metal bands in Germany and in the world.

    Mind Blowing

    by R. M. on 4/16/23

Can’t describe it in a way that can fully encompass how great the show was. I was thrilled that they came to Dallas and I could tell I wasn’t the only one because the energy of everyone there was great.

    Werewolves in LA

by Miriam on 3/29/23The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Going alone to a concert evening in LA…my dad would have never gotten any sleep had he known. Fortunately he was far away in Germany, the country tonight’s band is from. But despite (or because) of the cold wind while waiting in line the experience did start there - the excitement of everyone around was palpable. Powerwolf. In LA. My line acquaintances detailed the time they’d been hoping for this. Being alone isn’t a thing in a metal crowd :-). The Wiltern’s art deco atmosphere seemed made for the show it was about to experience - golden pillars framing an enormous stage set up featuring ruins and images of (were)wolves in different stages of torment. Very medieval saint - I did miss Sebastian and his arrows ;-). That came later though. First there was a more simple stage set for Seven Kingdoms - and three plush burgers on stage. My new neighbors didn’t now the band any more than I did and nobody had an explanation but it kept us guessing and laughing. Turns out it was just the band having fun. Respect. And the performance of Seven Kingdoms was a great opening - the mosh pit started around the second or third song and didn’t vary much all evening. Fun was definitely had. After an intermission to remove those cheeseburger pillows and set up the afore mentioned stage (and some perfectionism by the stage crew to get the lights and cables just right which was amusing but warranted) the big moment finally arrived and the band members entered the stage one by one. From that moment it was an ongoing electrifying storm of music and showmanship - sorry for not screaming louder and longer, Attila, but we were all a bit hoarse towards the later part of the show :-). The will was there, the voices…not do much any more. Old favorites mixed with songs from the last album, even one I was desperately trying to place - apparently it’s being released in the near future! Thank you guys! It was eleven before the band called it a night - by that time the ecstatic crowd was happy, sated and dragging sore feet to the respective cars or bars. I hope you enjoyed your visit here as much as we did - and come back soon!

Had a great time with a really great crowd of people all over Southern California. Everyone was pleasant and no fights anywhere. All the goth outfits were great to see too. Will definitely go again when they come back. First time at the Wiltern too. Great venue with classic theater looks!
