Powerwolf on Tour
Head-banging metal meets fantasy in the epic music creation by the German-based band, Powerwolf. Powerwolf's almighty guitar work, vigorous drums and commanding vocals mixed with themes like religion, demons, vampires, and werewolves create an otherworldly experience. The group consists of guitarist Matthew Greywolf (Benjamin Buss), bassist Charles Greywolf (David Vogt), keyboardist Falk Maria Schlegel (Christian Jost), drummer Roel van Helden, and vocalist Attila Dorn (Karsten Brill). Following the release of their 2022 album, The Monumental Mass: a Cinematic Metal Event, Powerwolf commenced their 2022 European tour, making stops in Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Czechia, and Poland. Donning ghoulish makeup during their performances, Powerwolf's shows are filled with pyrotechnics as the booming voice and undeniably legendary instrumentals encompass every fan lucky enough to see them live. First emerging in the music sphere with their debut album, Return in Bloodred in 2005, Powerwolf has continued to create a slew of classic metal hit albums, including Lupus Dei (2007), Bible of the Beast (2009), Blood of the Saints (2011), Alive in the Night (2012), Preacher of the Night (2013), Blessed & Possessed (2015), Metal Mass: Live (2016), The Sacrament of Sin (2018), Call of the Wild (2021), and The Monumental Mass: a Cinematic Metal Event (2022).
Powerwolf Live in Concert
Perhaps the most successful metal band in Germany, Powerwolf was formed in 2003 by Benjamin Buss and David Vogt. The founders added Falk Maria Schlegel and former drummer Stéfane Funèbre shortly after. With all the instrumentals covered, Buss and Vogt aggressively searched for a lead singer, discovering the passionate fantasy enthusiast, Karsten Brill, in Romania. With the band fully formed, they quickly signed a deal with Napalm Records, releasing their debut album under the label. The band then signed with Metal Blade Records for North American releases. Funèbre's final album with the band was Bible of the Beast, and Helden was added to Powerwolf's lineup for their next album. Powerwolf gained immense popularity in the mid-2010s, gaining gold status on back-to-back albums, Blessed & Possessed (2015) and The Sacrament of Sin (2018), with the single, "Demons Are A Girl's Best Friend," off The Sacrament of Sin going Platinum. With more than 1.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify and top tracks "Army of the Night," "We Drink Your Blood" and "Demons Are a Girl's Best Friend" combining for more than 137 million streams, it's no surprise Powerwolf is still one of the most iconic metal bands in Germany and in the world.
I had a good time from begging to end. Good atmosphere good music i can’t wait for them to come back to the US
The performing acts were all amazing. Awesome show and plenty of energy. The venue itself? Good luck seeing the stage if you are vertically challenged. It's set roughly eye level so if you're on the ground floor and not in a great spot, you are not going to see anything. It's not the fault of any taller show goers but more so the design of theatre. It's old and historic so I get that but raising the stage would help immensely so regardless of ground floor position, a patron could look upward and still catch the act regardless of height. Not sure if the establishment would even consider that. Short-term profits over actual improvement and all that. You know how it goes.
I flew across the country to see Powerwolf. Have been a fan for several years. They were amazing. The sound was perfect and could hear and understand them well. The band and the audience had a lot of energy. They played all my favorite songs and they sounded perfect.
The band was fun to watch. I liked the music and how the crowd sang along.
Incredible live band, they had so much energy and were able to work the crowd unlike any other band .
I've been listening to Powerwolf for a while now, when I discovered that they were finally playing in the US. The BIG surprise was that their first show happened to be at The Palladium in NYC, I jumped on that chance to see Powerwolf LIVE!! The atmosphere was invigorating. Sold out show and the theatrical performance was insane. I'm very glad that I was able to attend that first US Show was ecstatic. I'm looking forward to seeing them again.
Sold out show, amazing crowd, Powerwolf performing in US first time ever. Had such a great time, band is amazing, I hope to see them in NYC again 🤘
Great setlist and energy on stage. Can't wait to see you again.
10/10 ! The sound, the songs, the visual aspect Everything was perfect!
Great show. Amazing band who've never performed in North America, or in Montreal. They put on a terrific performance to an enthusiastic audience (typical Montreal powerhouse audience). Flawless performance of a 2 hour selection of their best songs. Great energy, they played the crowd like a fine instrument, in English and French. Worth seeing!!!! I hope they return to Mtelus.
I waited so many years for them to finally come to north america, and for them to choose Montreal as their first and only canadian city for this tour was a blessing. They truly know how to please the crowd (they were amazing as well) by increasing our energy that gives them a boost as well. Get a bigger venue next time (and more tshirts), the Metal Mass is bigger than Mtelus
The show was phnemonal, sounds was on point. The only thing that could be complained about was some of the srcuity was very rude and angry others were very easent, and the length of the merch line, and the sad fact that the new york specific shirt sold out before we could get through the line. The show itself and the band were amazing. Can't wait until they come back.
Powerwolf rocked on this show! They are great showmen and the concert was a blast. The venue was great, as were all the facilities. However, I felt like they sold too many tickets as there were a LOT of people for such a small floor. All in all, amazing!
These guys absolutely killed it. The sheer energy and enthusiasm from the band was infectious, their ability to control the crowd second to none. For their first time in the U.S., Powerwolf absolutely dominated. Can't wait to see them again!
I was super excited to see Powerwolf live for the first time and it was amazing. I had the greatest time and enjoyed myself immensely. The music, the theatrics, everything was all I was hoping for and more. I can’t wait to see them again!
Words can be so futile in describing just what a truly special event it is to see Powerwolf. The engaging songs, performance and top marksmanship in instrumentals and vocals make this one of the greatest live bands I’ve ever seen!
Fantastic show. These guys are the best First show in america didn’t disappoint.
Third time I've seen them, they are always fantastic
That was Incredible show. Thanks Powerwolf for great music and good memories. METAL IS RELIGION!!!
Flew 3k miles from the west coast to see Powerwolf in their first American show and WOW! We screamed, we yelled, we howled with the pack, and three days later I'm still talking about it. Beyond amazing!
