About

PJ Morton is a soul singer, songwriter, performer and producer based in New Orleans. He is a 5x GRAMMY-winner and 20x GRAMMY nominee who has earned numerous nominations for BET, Soul Train and NAACP Image Awards, in addition to selling out countless shows at historic venues like the Apollo Theater, Kennedy Center and others around the world. On top of running his own record label (Morton Records) and serving as Maroon 5's full-time keyboardist for the past 12+ years, he has collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jon Batiste, Nas, Lil Wayne, JoJo, Yebba, Jill Scott and many others.

In 2024, PJ Morton will become the first Black composer to ever write an original song for a Disney attraction - Tiana's Bayou Adventure, coming soon to Disneyland and Disney World. He will also release an album entirely written, recorded and produced during a 30-day trip across Africa, and publish a new book titled Saturday Night, Sunday Morning. Arriving November 12th via Worthy Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, the memoir sees him recounting and reflecting upon a trailblazing path that continues to defy expectations and straddle the tensions of music and faith, race and culture, expression and identity.

  • Great Show!

by Sweet G on 10/21/24Chandler Center for the Arts - ChandlerRating: 5 out of 5

PJ Morton did his thang. He is a fantastic singer and musician and kept the audience engaged with his high energy, which was quite impressive considering he had foot surgery just a few days before the show! Much respect to him for somehow still showing up and showing out! His back up band was also great. Definitely would see him again.

  • PJ Morton was GREAT, the BJCC not so much

    by Anitra C. on 8/30/24BJCC Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

PJ ALWAYS does a great show! He’s a treasure. Basically, I attended a sold out concert a few days before this show. Security was very relaxed. They basically said come on in. However, the experience for PJ’s show was totally different. Security was beefed up and we were told we needed to use the lockers to store our purses because they were too large even though they were not and they were allowed at the sold out concert. Also, tickets weren’t issued in advance.

  • exhilarating and moving

by Trish on 8/28/24The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

What a great artist. Opening act was not as entertaining. PJ was humble and lived the stories behind the music - his wife being there was extra special and their connection was beautiful to witness. Loved his energy and sincerity 🩷

This is was a great experience with Ticketmaster. I was able to purchase my tickets with ease. Thank you! This concert was beyond great! The sound was good, the seats were excellent. Thank you for bringing this artist because HE WAS PHENOMENAL! The opening act was really good, seeing this was their 1st time in Chicago, they were very entertaining and had a good flow. PJ Morton is an AMAZINGLY talented musician, composer and song writer. I LOVE how he interacted with the audience and made us open up and join him on this journey. PHENONMENAL SHOW from start to finish. He made the audience feel like they were apart and that he enjoyed us like we enjoyed him!

  • OMGGGG!!!! PJ MORTON WAS AMAZING!!!!

by BeauTiWithIN on 8/28/24The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was absolutely AMAZING, from the start to the encore! I enjoyed the Cave Men for Africa and Clint Coley the comedian. PJ Morton sang songs that made your Heart and Soul feel GOOD!!! It touched you in so many ways! From the background singer to the band, they killed it! We was pretty good ourselves when he had us singing in the audience participation. There was even a feel-good celebration outside the Chicago Theater when it ended. It just left you that way. All people of all ethnicity was smiling, singing, and dancing TOGETHER outside, after the encore! This was my first time attending his concert, it CERTAINLY will NOT be my last! THANK YOU PJ MORTON!!! Until next time!
