He is a 5x GRAMMY-winner and 20x GRAMMY nominee who has earned numerous nominations for BET, Soul Train and NAACP Image Awards, in addition to selling out countless shows at historic venues like the Apollo Theater, Kennedy Center and others around the world. On top of running his own record label (Morton Records) and serving as Maroon 5's full-time keyboardist for the past 12+ years, he has collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jon Batiste, Nas, Lil Wayne, JoJo, Yebba, Jill Scott and many others.

He will also release an album entirely written, recorded and produced during a 30-day trip across Africa, and publish a new book titled Saturday Night, Sunday Morning. Arriving November 12th via Worthy Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, the memoir sees him recounting and reflecting upon a trailblazing path that continues to defy expectations and straddle the tensions of music and faith, race and culture, expression and identity.

I am now a P.J. Morton fan.
by SCtoDC on 7/17/13Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5I went to this concert on a whim, after reading some comments online about him. Before the concert, I only knew him as the 'chocolate' member of Maroon 5, the son of Bishop Paul S. Morton, and vaguely some of his work in gospel music. So, after listening to Lover on YouTube, I honestly went to the show with rather lukewarm expectations. I was pleasantly surprised! Every member of the band was phenomenal, especially the heavyset guy that sang background vocals! PJ Morton is obviously an extremely talented musician (great singer, songwriter, performer), and clearly thought about how he wanted his show to flow. Every song flowed into the next, which made the show very smooth, easy, and balanced. There was enough to make you dance, think, cry, and smile. He was also good at conversing with the audience between songs and providing background on what he was feeling when he wrote certain songs. You just need to go see him when you can!
PJ Morton was awesome!
by apapelovedone on 7/17/13Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5I really enjoyed the PJ Morton concert. It was my first time seeing him on stage and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I would definitely go to another PJ Morton concert.
PJ Morton baptized Howard Theatre
by DukeOfDayton on 7/17/13Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5To listen to his recordings, brings a vibe and appreciation. But to witness his live performance creates a synergy with "Holy Ghost" tendencies. As PJ choose songs from his array of penned selections, the atmosphere grew more & more favorable to where audience members could no longer maintain their seats or prohibit themselves from raising their arms...as one does when they shout "Hallelujah" during intense Praise & Worship gatherings. PJ Morton is a force...a sheer talent...and his congregation will only evolve and expand. Let me hear ya say "Church"!

PJ never disappoints DC!
by justkappa on 7/17/13Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5Simply put, a MUST GO! Although last year was a little better (especially because of Dawn Richards & a cameo by Amber Bullock) PJ never disappoints DC. Would love to see him perform at an ampitheatre or other block party style venue.
Awesome show, pj really did his thing.

Where have I been!?
by FanSeat10 on 6/10/13Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5I was totally blown away by PJ Morton's talent. I've known him as a writer but didn't know the boy had mad skills as a singer. And the band was tight! Its not often you hear such a sound. Its hard to say what genre of music PJ's style is because it hits you on so many levels. What I had such an appreciation for were the lyrics. They were fresh, upbeat, inspiring, encouraging... I can't wait to see him in concert again....p.s....I'm 49 years old, so truly I KNOW GOOD MUSIC!

by MissALR on 6/10/13Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5I attended the PJ Morton concert in Atlanta, GA on June 8, 2013 and I must say... his set was AMAZING! His voice is just as beautiful live as it is on his latest album, "New Orleans", which is a great collection. I absolutely LOVE what's doing for REAL R&B music. His band is talented and entertaining, as well. Please do not miss PJ when he has a show in your neck of the woods. You won't regret it!
