Thrilling performance! Jaw-dropping acrobatics, mixed with fantastic vocals, beautiful dancing, and a fascinating story line. Must see! And especially at the Pantages, we get to see Tony-winning Andrea Martin and the original Pippin as Charles!

    Fun, but lacked depth.

by Dpip on 10/26/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

I happen to really like to play Pippin. I've seen it performed under 5 different productions. This one was very good. It especially shined in the magic and circus aspects, and the Pantages Theatre is a gorgeous venue. Given that, I felt that this production was emotionally flat. Everybody loved Andrea Martin's portrayal of Bertha. She certainly showed a lot of flexibility on the trapeze. But she played the role as an old lady, not the feisty lusty woman of better productions. And the songs, although competently performed, the spine tingling emotion come to expect.

    Pippin is a must see

by EBSmusicals on 10/26/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

I saw the original Pippin on Broadway with Ben Vereen and John Rubenstein (who plays Charlemagne in this revival) and have always loved it. The combination of Fosse-like choreography and the absolutely amazing acrobatics in this production took my breath away. The performers not only had to be able to sing and dance - they had to soar utilizing strength and body control I've never seen in a show before. Take your kids and be prepared for a visual feast.

    2013 Tony Winner–Best Revival of a Musical

by MusicalTheatreMaven on 10/26/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

One of the best re-imaginings of a musical that I've ever seen (though still a slightly problematic Act 2)—a highly entertaining mix of circus, Fosse and magic, with a cast at the top of their game. I've seen several productions of this show over the years, and this is the best since the original touring company in the 70s.

    Utterly Amazing!

by PFXK on 10/26/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

I saw this twice on Broadway when it originally opened in the '70's, it was one of my favorite shows, but is now my all time favorite show! Amazing energy coming off the stage, strong performances by all cast, Andrea Martin is a KNOCKOUT! Don't hesitate, just go and take all your family and friends!

    PIPPIN was pimpin'!

by Chocliq on 10/26/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

This version of PIPPIN was excellent. I am still bias towards Ben Vereen as The Leading Player but Sasha Allen held her own! She was fantastic as was the entire cast! The aerobic display was breath-taking also. If you get a chance, please go and check out PIPPIN!

    Visually beautiful but audibly boring.

We went with an open mind but it could not keep my attention except for one song.

    Pippin

by Sherkahn on 10/25/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

A dynamic opening followed by a continuous array of quality talent. I often have wondered how much it would cost the Pantages Theater to install a new sound system. Its deficiency has detracted from the quality scripts presented on the multiple occasions I have been an audience member. I was sitting in Row Q whose distance is not the reason for the above criticism of the theatre's owners decision not to improve their theater. As for the play Plippin itself I liked the mixture of gymnastics with dancing and script llines. I was especially taken from the female gymnast (six times Polish national champion) not only for her great agility but for the sparkle in her countenance. I would have loved to have talked to her in person. Truly yours Sherkahn

    So much Fun!

by DancePartyDee on 10/25/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

I did this show in high school so I have an attachment and fondness for this show. But the storyline is the best part, so relevant to all of us on our journey through life to find our purpose. The characters are fun and the cast is superb!!! Oh and the acrobats are amazing, a lot of aerial work, similar to a Cirque show.

Pippin grew up and flies through the air

by EmptyNestersMW on 10/25/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Growing up can be good and and at the same time missing. I saw Pippin multiple times in New York in 1973-1975. As a young woman from Seattle having moved to NY for my first job, I thought it spoke to me, about life choices. I loved the story, humor and Ben Vereen commanded the stage with his voice and the most powerful story telling dance I have ever seen! The choreography was exciting, beautiful, creative and cutting edge. Of all the musical I saw over the years, Pippin is my choice. Forty one years later, Pippin has evolved. The beautiful and whimsical songs remain. The dancing takes a backstage to sort of a Cirque de Soleil theme. Though it was fun to see and sing along in my heart, I missed Bob Fosse and Ben Vereen. We all grow up!

    Pippin was spectacular!

by StageDoorSusie on 10/25/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

This production of Pippin was totally enthralling. The reimagining of the story, using a circus-style set brought this 70's era show beautifully into the 21st century. Every performer was incredible and each and every one had mad acrobatic skills! Just loved it!

An unforgettable night at the theater!

by sawesq on 10/24/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

You have to see it to believe it. Everyone one in the cast put their heart and soul into this performance. I will see it again before it's over. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!

    High-flying musical fun!

by BeauBoy78 on 10/24/14Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

The songs are just so-so, and the story is a little bit out there, but the visuals and physical performances are amazing. Might be a little bit too risque for young children, but fine for teenagers.
