Hands Like Houses opened up. the crowd didn't respond with eager pushing or frantic shoving -- I still had room to breathe while singing along to the music which I enjoyed. They were great. Tonight Alive caused more of a reaction from the group and while I do no really listen to the band, everyone else seemed somewhat enthusiastic.
Now Sleeping with Sirens, as expected, caused the worst to begin. People were pushing in all directions and starved to reach the front of the crowd. I did get pretty close, about three or four people away from the gate. Unfortunately due to all the movement, I didn't fully enjoy their set. It had nothing to do with the band itself, more so the atmosphere of screaming females who wanted solely to touch Kellin Quinn when in fact it is a five piece band. I've seen them live before, so all in all, I didn't mind so much that this time wasn't magical.
Pierce the Veil caused a huge commotion but this time I was right by the gate and could withstand the pushing much better. It began with the intro to May These Noises Startle You In Your Sleep Tonight and then the lights went crazy with reds and blues and confetti fell from the ceiling. They came out with a lot of energy. Tony and Vic were easily seen from where I was. Mike too, but I only caught glimpses of Jaime every now and again. They played at least ten songs, ending with Caraphernelia. But the crowd begged for one more song, King for a Day, and they didn't disappoint. It was absolutely awesome.
Point is: the bands were awesome -- the people, well, they were very very energetic, and if you're not tall or tough or are near someone who is, you could get hurt. But if it's good music you want, that's what you'll get.
