Phoenix Mercury History
The Phoenix Mercury are a professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Founded in 1997, the Mercury are one of the league’s original eight franchises. The team reached their first Finals in 1998 and have made six total appearances, winning in 2007, 2009 and 2014. The Mercury’s legacy is marked by two major No. 1 picks: Diana Taurasi in 2004 and Brittney Griner in 2013. As members of the Mercury, Taurasi won the regular season MVP in 2009 and set multiple WNBA records, including most career points, most three-pointers and most field goals made, while Griner earned two Defensive Player of the Year Awards and broke several block records. Ahead of the 2025 season, Taurasi announced her retirement and the Mercury acquired five-time All-Star Alyssa Thomas, who continues to hold the WNBA record for career triple-doubles.

Great small arena. The game was a blast. Crowd was fun.
The view from our seats was awesome and the game was electrifying.
We took our kiddos to the game and we all had a great time! First of all the Mercury beat the Mystics in a very exciting upset. Also the food included was limited in terms of options but the kiddos had plenty to eat. And then getting to take pictures with the coaches afterwards was a highlight as well.
Unexpected rout by the Mercury was fun. Food options at venue are meh, and hot dig the inly edible option of the all you can eat seats.
Great teams with great players but we love the Mercury and they didn't disappoint us. Wonderful and exciting game.
Beautiful venue, great entertainment, love the WNBA
Like to watch Grinder & Taurasi play. They are great players. Like Wizzy & his group perform. Good half time show!
I loved the game! It was my first WNBA game and I doubt I will ever go to another NBA game! The staff made the night even better with their hospitality! I am from CA but I will go see the Mercury play again for sure! Hope Diana Taurasi gets well soon. I was bummed she didn’t play! Props to Sophie Cunningham...what a baller! And Brittney Griner...wow! She is for sure the real deal! Taking a pic with her made the night even better! Can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed it!!!!
Fun. Clean. Friendly fast pased employees. Nice and cool.
The Game and all the events functions were marvelous and entertaining, love WNBA games
Great atmosphere, very energetic, staff helpful. Parking not so much had a pass but was sent to wrong place. Parking staff not knowing what was going on.
the Game itself was good. That is to say the playing and the result. All of the extra crap that you must endure because someone thinks the crowd must be entertained every second is way too loud and just annoying. I am old enough to remember going to games without considering earplugs to protect my hearing. Loud music and dancing have nothing to do with the game.
Thanks for the military discount. It gave me to opportunity to watch the game at a price i could afford
The whole experience was a first time to a women's professional game... A lot of people showed up... the seats were awesome and could see the whole floor and team benches. A lot of things happening during time outs which kept you in the game... I'd go again... And..... Way to go LA Sparks!!
Bought tickets to give to my mom as a gift and found out you can no longer get them emailed or printed. Even drive 40 miles to box office to see if they could print them. No help at all. Mom has a flip phone and no way to “set up an account for mobile tickets” Very bad experience. Technology is not always the answer. Will not purchase again if I can’t print out tickets.
Wife and i were season ticket holders. Not anymore, we enjoy watching and supporting the team but got tired of all the "hiphop" noise, the cold air in our area, and poor calls by referees determing the outcome of a game and the season. From the time we enter ro the time leave ots nothing but loud noise leaving us exhausted.
We got excellent tickets, and a marketing guy came over and talked to us to make us feel welcome.
The whole game day experience was great from start to finish. The team does a great job getting the fans into the game.
This was an amazing experience I’m very satisfied with my tickets and I would re buy from ticket master again and I even recommended it to friends
Another great comeback for our Mercury! Always a fun time to see a WNBA game in person.
