About

Pop-rock musician Phillip Phillips wowed “American Idol” fans and judges in season 11 with spot-on covers of iconic songs including Steve Wonder’s “Superstition”, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, and Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle”. Phillips’ scratchy vocals, reminiscent of his own idol Dave Matthews, are exemplified in his chart-topping debut single “Home” as well as sweet, mellow tracks like “So Easy”. His platinum-selling first album The World from the Side of the Moon includes the upbeat love song “Gone, Gone, Gone”, which is sure to be a wedding song for Phillips fans for years to come. The Georgia-born singer/songwriter wound up taking home the title of American Idol, but only after dealing with congenital kidney issues that landed him in the hospital for eight surgeries during the “Idol” season. Phillips recovered in time for the “American Idol LIVE Tour”, performing major-market concerts alongside the season’s nine other top contestants. The 46-city trek sold more than a quarter of a million tickets overall, placing it at No. 62 in the Top 200 North American tours of 2012.

Great show! Just as expected. The only bummer is that he didn't play longer. He is such a great entertainer and holds his own in the industry. Love love love him!!!

  • The dust storm ruined the night

by Anonymous on 7/6/14Salt River Fields at Talking Stick - ScottsdaleRating: 4 out of 5

3 openers, main act, and a fireworks show. I enjoyed one opener The Senators. And then the dust storm blew in causing a massive delay. However, Phil Phillips did come on eventually but it again was cut short to the storm. That was extremely disappointing. While it wasn't the venue or artists' fault, it certainly put a damper on the evening for everyone. The fireworks display was beautiful. I enjoyed all of the music they played along with the show, That made it quite interactive!

After a delay because of a dust storm and then a potential rainstorm Phillip came out and played his heart out. Set was cut short because of time but he made the most of every moment on stage.

  • Phillip Phillips the bomb!

Despite the fact that the show was delayed for two hours for a minor dust storm, it was amazing! His performance was perfect! The staff was very kind! Food and drinks way over priced $6 for a 1lt.water bottle, give me a break. But that didn't stop me from enjoying the mans performance! Fantastic show, I can't wait for the next one! Love him so glad he won AI11!!!!

  • Phillip Phillips-great performer!

by Judygbv on 7/6/14Salt River Fields at Talking Stick - ScottsdaleRating: 4 out of 5

Bands were great, Phillip Phillips was awesome. the sound was a little off. The speakers in the middle of the field were a beat off of the stage, so it threw the sound off a bit, but sat thru a Dust storm to watch Phillips Phillips! Fireworks were good. the music to the fireworks needed some help!

  • Phillip Phillips gives a great performance!

The venue is tough in the middle of the summer! It was 108 well into the evening and a dust storm stopped the show for more than an hour, so it was a bit frustrating. When he took the stage though P.P. Did his best to make up for it. He gives a great show and really knows how to engage the audience. His stage presence seems so seasoned for a young performer of 23. He was fantastic!

  • Phillip Phillips in Waukegan , IL

    by broadway433 on 4/6/14Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 3 out of 5

I love Phillip Phillips music. At this performance the lighting come from the back of the stage out toward the audience. This was very distracting and made it hard to see him and his band. I also thought his band overwhelmed him. I know a concert isn't the same as listening to a polished CD produced in the studio, but I felt it was often hard to understand him clearly.

  • Phillip Phillips first time in Kamloops

by Tayzerlynne on 3/30/14Interior Savings Centre - KamloopsRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was pretty good. You could tell that he is new to touring as the stage was pretty plain. Phillip had lots of energy on stage and kept the crowd entertained. I would have liked to see him move to different areas on the stage. His voice was amazing and clear. He sounds better in person than on a cd. I would love to see him again in a few years when he has more experience and less solos from his band. Their was a lot of "fillers" from the band doing solos. A few to many for my liking. Over all the concert was good, and I would see him again.

Unique talent, Phil Phillips has proven that his own sound is going to carry him on to a great career in music. He is amazing to watch, as he rocks around the stage playing his guitars. The quintessential music flowing out of his mind into the speakers, for us to enjoy! Refreshing original!

I really enjoyed the opening band as they were really good and entertaining. I found out after that the lead singer is from one of my favourite bands Dashboard Confessional. Phillip Phillips played my favourite songs and he was quite entertaining with some sweet long solos:)

  • Phillip Phillips sounds even better live!

by Anonymous on 3/27/14Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

I figured the concert would be good, but I was blown away by how much energy and soul he puts into his live show! Blues influenced Rock, strong clean vocals, killer musicians sharing the stage. I can't wait until he comes back! Twin Forks opened, they were really good too!

I really liked the Genesee Theater, it was my first experience. Don't believe there was a bad seat in the place. I liked the multiple little bars where you could get away and sit down when needed. Phillip Phillis was awesome
