Philadelphia 76ers History
The Philadelphia 76ers were one of the league's first franchises. Founded in 1946 and playing their first NBA season in 1949, the team was introduced as the Syracuse Nationals and played home games in upstate New York.
After moving to Philadelphia in 1963 and adopting the 76ers moniker in honor of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in the city in 1776, the team has had a prominent history featuring several players who would go on to be inducted into the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame: Dolph Schayes, Hal Greer, Wilt Chamberlain, Billy Cunningham, Bobby Jones, Julius Erving, Maurice Cheeks, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley, and Allen Iverson.
The 76ers have made 54 playoff appearances and earned nine trips to the NBA Finals, winning three national championships. Chamberlain, Erving, Malone, Iverson and Joel Embiid have all also been named the NBA Most Valuable Player while playing for the 76ers, for a total of seven MVP awards. In 2024, Tyrese Maxey collected the franchise’s second Most Improved Player Award after Dana Barros in 1995.

I get that you have to get people in the building to make money but most people are now larger than they used to. This facility is new enough that someone larger than average should be able to be comfortable. I couldn’t sit normally with a drink in each holder. I’m only 214 pounds. I have tickets for the Flyers on December 7 and I won’t be back for another event.
The Sixers - Celtics was a great contest. The team played hard- and won. The venue was clean and service team was good. The timeout entertainment on court and through the jumbo video screen kept the crowd engaged and in the game. We would definitely attend again.
Arena is beautiful, in fine condition. Food, parking prices high, as expected. This Sixers team is the most fun to watch in years
We selected section 103 row 1 to get as close to the court as possible without spending $1000. You cannot see a thing from these seats as the two rows in front of you are on a platform and actually sit higher than you. Do not waste your money.

It was a solo date for myself and I enjoyed it. Great atmosphere
I loved the whole experience the only reason why I rated it a 3 star is because the parking. I had to add an extra 20 minutes to my drive due to a road being blocked off and i couldn't gain access to it. Getting into the parking lot was very frustrating and does not help with any one that has anxiety like myself. It was super nerve wrecking. Other than that the inside experience was amazing! and the staff inside the building was great.
Everything turned out the way I expected‼️my daughter enjoyed her self as well! Loved the half time show! With performance bye Chubb-Rock‼️can’t wait to go back‼️
