About

Peter Gabriel’s five-decade-long career includes nine studio albums, film scores for the likes of Martin Scorsese, six Grammy Awards and two separate inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a solo artist and founder of ’70s prog-rock pioneers Genesis). As a solo artist, Gabriel has sold an estimated 16 million albums worldwide, with his fifth studio album — 1986’s So — going five-times platinum in the U.S. and producing the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Sledgehammer.” Gabriel’s catalog of hits also includes ballads like “In Your Eyes,” which was featured in an iconic scene from the 1989 teen rom-com, Say Anything. Gabriel has performed in front of countless sold-out crowds on world tours that often include large-scale performances and conceptual set design. In May 2023, Gabriel embarked on i/o – The Tour, his first world tour in seven years, which features songs from his forthcoming 10th studio album, i/o — his first full-length album of new songs in over two decades.

    Insane

by ShaneDuvall on 10/23/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

I have wanted to see Peter all of my life, I have been a fan since I was a child and to finally be able to see him in concert was a true treat. One of the best concerts I have been to and I have been to many. The music, sounds and artwork were so immersive and consuming, it felt as though it took over my whole body. I can honestly say, that there have only been a few times in my life I have felt that way. The complaints about not singing enough of his hits are bupkis. He sang plenty and if you are fan of his talent, it shouldn't matter what he sings. The I/O music is as good as anything he has ever created/sung that was "popular", just unknown to most. The music itself was loud but perfectly loud, it wasn't overwhelming or so loud I felt like I needed plugs. Like I said, is was just about perfect. Peter is a great story teller, and to hear him speak in person and react to and with the crowd was like I was watching an old friend sing his songs for me, if that makes any sense. I would have gone back the next day and seen this show again if I could have, it was that good! Thank you Peter for all of the years of music enjoyment and I am looking forward to many more years of creativity and expression.

    Great Evening

by ProdSon on 10/23/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

It was a unique concert experience with Peter's commentary between songs from his new material, but the music itself, new and old, was an extraordinary, especially coming from such a great artist. And Peter's voice is still amazing after all of these years.

Really wanted to like this show, but...

by Roscoe on 10/23/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

Okay...let me preface to say that I am a huge fan of Peter Gabriel, at least for his early work (both with Genesis and solo). And that I really wanted to enjoy this concert. But this show was mostly focused on his recent work, i/o, which is pretentious in the extreme. He seems to have become so focused on the 'art' side of things that he's forgotten that music (particularly rock music) is about having fun. Oh...the music was played flawlessly by his backing band and the stage production was excellent. And yes, his voice isn't what it used to be, but that is to be expected at his age. The problem is that he has become disconnected with his audience. The vast majority of us were there to hear the old music...the music we loved from the 80s. I get it...he's trying to sell the new album, but disappointing his fan base isn't the way to do that. He did play a few of the fun songs from the past (Sledgehammer, Bigtime, & Solsbury Hill were GREAT!), but closing the show with Biko? Really? Anyway...I really wanted to love this show and, while I did enjoy parts of it, on the whole it was kind of boring. I won't be going to any of his shows in the future (nor will I be purchasing i/o either).

    Awesome experience

by Kandc on 10/22/23Moody Center ATX - Austin

Peter (as usual) puts on a great show, and his band is the best bar none. You need to be familiar with his new music because he plays all of it, but mixes in most of his older songs in. Unfortunately not Mercy Street or Secret World. Still, an awesome show.

    Peter Gabriel - STILL AWESOME!

by Penelope on 10/22/23Moody Center ATX - Austin

The Peter Gabriel concert was everything that I anticipated. At 73 years of age, Peter Gabriel still has the same distinct voice and sound that has made him an iconic music artist for so many years.

It Felt Like We Missed the Concert

by Dave the Projectionist on 10/22/23Chase Center - SAN FRANCISCO

It’s a shame that poor seats can spoil a perfectly good concert. That happened to me when I took my wife to see Peter Gabriel’s i/o Tour stop at Chase Center in San Francisco on October 11. We could tell something was happening on stage but couldn’t fully see or hear what was happening. Apparently, Gabriel’s stories were engaging, the new songs were noteworthy, and the band was technically tight. Although from our vantage in Section 207, the sound was flat and distorted, and I caught every other word. It was like being in a cave. A clue that the tickets I purchased were in an acoustic dead zone was the smattering of patrons seated in our section. We also missed out on the visual elements of the show. The angle of our view prevented us from enjoying the commissioned art shown on panels at the rear of the stage. The art was meant to enhance the storytelling of the music. But it was too distant and obscure to have much of an impact on us. The final blow to our night (pun intended) was a steady flow of cold air blowing on us throughout the show. The chill from an A/C unit above us was like an individual unrelenting Arctic wind. We were so uncomfortable that we skipped the encore because we couldn’t take it anymore. Sure, we can tell our friends that we saw Peter Gabriel in concert, but l can't say whether I liked it, except to report the perfect storm of unfavorable conditions in which we witnessed it. I have a hunch that it was a much better concert than our $127.50 seats grant us. You could argue it was my fault for not knowing what I was buying. But then, the Chase Center was supposed to be a great concert venue where there’s never a bad seat.

Good music, cables obstructing view, beer selection lacking

by TexInACan on 10/22/23Moody Center ATX - Austin

There were cables going to the ceoling in front of our seats but our tickets did not say obstructed view. The beer selection was 4 iPas, 3 hard seltzers, bud an bud light. Come on, have some Modelo or other malty beers. The sound and lighting were very very good.

    Peter is a Must See!

by Olivia M. on 10/22/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

Peter Gabriel’s concert blew my mind and I saw another person through his nice personality and love for his fellow musicians. He acknowledged “ALL” staff that went into such a great performance. He is a great storyteller and you can feel his heart for humanity. It was cool to have a performance with an interval plus Peter came out for 2 more times! Absolutely great experience. Don’t miss the opportunity to see him.

Good Mix of Old and New

by RonnieFW on 10/22/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

I loved the start of the concert! It was like a group of friends sitting around a campfire singing songs. Then they moved to their places and played some old and new songs that were accompanied by a beautiful multi-media show. Peter provided some dialog between songs that expressed his current feelings on some of today's world issues and also introduced us to the artists that enriched his show. The mostly older crowd was sedate throughout the newer songs, but don't let that make you think they weren't loving it. They were ready to dance when recognizable songs like "Sledgehammer"started up. Peter's voice was still strong, especially compared to others his age who have done this so long. Don't miss this show if you have a chance to see it. I almost did, and am glad I made the last minute decision to go.

Peter Gabriel is an Experience- Wonderful!

by Alli on 10/22/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

We loved the Dallas Peter Gabriel concert. We love how he is not center stage, and constantly introduces and compliments his band members and features them, collaborates with visual artists and does a big callout to his hardworking crew in the orange suits. A musician I read online said, to the effect that “Peter has a way of pulling a huge audience around the campfire,” and it’s true. It’s an intimate experience of his new music with a nice balance of his popular hits. He still sounds vocally strong yet chooses to perform songs in a way that works for him. I still recommend ear bud hearing protection, as I thought it was fine until intermission, when I realized I needed to put mine in. Inspiring and creative effort. May Peter continue his artistry and expression!

    Slog of a set list

by JaymzP on 10/22/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

Peter is still a very vital force; passion, voice and chops are intact. His band is utterly world class and the show's production values are relatively peerless. However, his set list on this tour is only sparsely populated with songs the vast majority of the ticket holders came to hear. Far more emphasis is placed on his latest and/or recent material that speaks to a morose world view that leaves the audience feeling like they should reconsider doomsday prepping. When he whips out the uptempo stuff the show cracks to life immediately, otherwise a drag.

Amazing show, Peter Gabriel is the best.

by Mine on 10/22/23Moody Center ATX - Austin

Perel Gabriel's show was amazing, Tony Levin, what a talented musician he is, saw him with King Crimson 2 years ago, another amazing show. I love Peter Gabriel's new album, love him since he was with Genesis, Genesis was not the same without him.
