About

Peter Gabriel’s five-decade-long career includes nine studio albums, film scores for the likes of Martin Scorsese, six Grammy Awards and two separate inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a solo artist and founder of ’70s prog-rock pioneers Genesis). As a solo artist, Gabriel has sold an estimated 16 million albums worldwide, with his fifth studio album — 1986’s So — going five-times platinum in the U.S. and producing the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Sledgehammer.” Gabriel’s catalog of hits also includes ballads like “In Your Eyes,” which was featured in an iconic scene from the 1989 teen rom-com, Say Anything. Gabriel has performed in front of countless sold-out crowds on world tours that often include large-scale performances and conceptual set design. In May 2023, Gabriel embarked on i/o – The Tour, his first world tour in seven years, which features songs from his forthcoming 10th studio album, i/o — his first full-length album of new songs in over two decades.

    Best sound ever

by Flint on 10/27/23Fiserv Forum - Milwaukee

I’ve been to many concerts over the years and the sound experience was the best I have ever heard. We had the benefit of being in the 14th row center. Peter Gabriel’s sound system was incredible. And it was mixed to perfection. Peter Gabriel was amazing. His voice hardly seems to have changed. The technology was just beyond understanding. They had nine vertical screens measuring about 4‘ x 15‘ that could move up down left right each one showing individual images. Plus a huge 40 foot circular dish over the stage they could change the angle of an project on. Plus nine 5 foot discs that seem to swirl about and project light. Plus a large screen with live projection on stage left and right. He is a real master of graphics. I was certainly baffled by it all. I understand why the tickets were so expensive. It was worth it.

    Great, Great Concert

by Michael from Australia on 10/25/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

Peter produced the goods as he usually does. Having seen him in one of his earliest solo concerts in London in 1977 and again in Australia about fifteen years ago, it was great to have the opportunity to see him yet again. The band and arrangements were exemplary, particularly the drumming of Manu Katche. The new unfamiliar material was interesting and well accepted. My only reservation is that Peter's lengthy spoken introductions tend to detract from the overall experience and that he should give Biko a rest.

    Great as usual

by Texas Mike on 10/24/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

As usual Peter does not disappoint. The production was great, new and cutting edge technology. The transparent changing screen was like nothing seen before. One minute it was shadow, the next painted, the next appeared to be transparent. I am still thinking about how this was created. Lighting creations were also impressive. As we get up in age we want to tell stories and this tour Peter seems to want to tell his story; but, the music was still center. He performed each song on the new release and many old favorites. There are a few points about the production that someone should attend. Our seats were directly in front and across of the stage on the lower section. There were two cables going to the ceiling from the mixing booth that were in the sight line. Put them out of view somehow. Secondly, during the entire show there was a piece of the black curtain behind the stage right folded down with a annoying bright white backstage light emanating from it. Still one of the best shows I have seen. You will totally enjoy it.

    Great show, but the lighting!

by Mike on 10/24/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

The show was fantastic and Peter sounds amazing. My only complaint was the lighting. I was in the upper rows of American Airlines center. The stage lights were behind the band and they were blindingly bright. There were many parts of the show that I couldn't see anything because it was like staring into an LED headlight.

    Evening with Peter Gabriel

by jointsrme on 10/24/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

Was truly excited to see this show. It was divided into 2 acts. The first act was good but quite subdued. The second act got the engines revving. The energy was strong, the vocals were strong. There were a few songs that weren't covered that I would have liked to have seen but all in all a great show!

    Happy

by KCMO on 10/23/23Ball Arena - Denver

I got there at 7 and watched the clock guy change the hands on that huge clock. It was fascinating. I was in the nosebleed section and about 30 minutes in the user came and asked if I wanted to move down closer. Heck yes. It was a wonderful night.

    Music great, lighting awful

by MK on 10/23/23Moody Center ATX - Austin

We were sitting on the front row of the upper level. The lights behind the band were aimed directly at our level. We literally spent most of the concert unable to see the band from the glare. If it wasn't for the video projection of the band members we wouldn't have seen any of them at all.

    Very good to Great

by Ian S on 10/23/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

This is coming from a huge fan: overall thought it was pretty great. The band sounded great, lights, sound and screens were very well produced. He played a good mix of new material and hits from the past. Would have liked to hear more off of ‘US’ but was happy with the song list. He also played for 3 hours minus a brief intermission. The only criticism i had was the flow of the songs seemed off a little - he paused between each song and talked about the song. If you listen to ‘Secret World Live’ he had a great flow to the songs. Would see him again

The Best Concert of my Lifetime

by New huge fan!!! on 10/23/23American Airlines Center - Dallas

Peter put on one hell of a show. It was all substance with no fillers. I didn’t know much about Peter until I met husband. He’s so deep that I was held captive the entire time. I would def go and see him again!!!!

Gabriel...one of the greats. Did not disappoint.

by CuzDug on 10/23/23Moody Center ATX - Austin

The show was very good. The AC blowing down upon us was a bit much, however. We were up high. Were they trying to get it to go down to the floor? Oops.

    New fan!

by Mrs C on 10/23/23United Center - Chicago

First time seeing him in concert and thought it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. From the intimacy in the opening to the visuals throughout I was awed. And all of the vocals were fantastic.

    great music/frustrated with playlist

by Curmudgeon on 10/23/23Moody Center ATX - Austin

Very talented band, the stories were interesting and entertaining yet 70% of playlist was new. Frustrating for those of us that are nostalgic. Venue was excellent although parking not as easy as it could be.

    Peter Gabriel show

by KushG on 10/23/23Moody Center ATX - Austin

Great show and production by Peter Gabriel. Signage at Moody Center for portals could be better...we ended up walking all the way around the center since we turned left...if we had turned right, we would have been closer to our portal! Maybe my fault! Ushers and security were great! Venue got kind of chilly toward the end of show.

    Disappointing

by Meh on 10/23/23Moody Center ATX - Austin

Extremely underwhelming. The sound was very muddy and poor, and while I understand Peter Gabriel is quite old now, his live performance has not held up as well as some of his contemporaries. Even on hits like Big Time, the music being played was poor, and there was not really any theatrics or background video to try to save it. If you're feeling some Peter Gabriel just put on some good headphones and watch the music videos and it'll be much more entertaining.
