Peter Frampton on Tour

With the Peter Frampton Finale: The Farewell Tour, an iconic figure in rock takes the stage for one last round in 2019. Commencing June 18 in Tulsa and ending October 12 in San Francisco, the tour follows the singer and guitarist's announcement of his retirement due to his battle with inclusion body myositis (IBM), a progressive muscle disorder.

It makes for a poignant occasion for any fan whose life has been touched by Frampton's songs in the five decades since the singer and guitarist first earned renown as the teenage frontman for Humble Pie and became one of the biggest sensations of the 1970s.

The evening will be a celebration first and foremost. The music legend always has been warm and engaging in signature songs like "Baby, I Love Your Way" and "Do You Feel Like We Do," and he wouldn't have it any other way. For the new tour, Frampton performs alongside his longtime bandmates Rob Arthur (keys, guitar, vocals), Steve Mackey (bass), Adam Lester (guitar), and Dan Wojciechowski (drums).

Peter Frampton Background

From co-founding one of rock's first supergroups while still a teenager to releasing the most famous live album of all time, Peter Frampton has had many milestones in a career that began in the London borough of Bromley in the early ‘60s. Inspired by heroes like Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran, the young guitarist began his musical pursuits as an adolescent alongside David Bowie, an older classmate who became his lifelong friend.

By the time he was 16, Frampton was having his first hits with The Herd. When only 18, he co-founded Humble Pie with Steve Marriott of Small Faces and Spooky Tooth's Greg Ridley. The group's mix of hard rock and progressive styles made them a pioneer of heavy metal.

After going solo in 1971, Frampton toured tirelessly in the U.S. His efforts paid off in 1976, when Frampton Comes Alive! became a phenomenon. Topping the Billboard charts for 10 weeks, it sold eight million copies and spawned three smashes in "Baby, I Love Your Way," "Show Me the Way," and "Do You Feel Like We Do."

Later career highlights included playing guitar on David Bowie's Glass Spider tour, winning a Grammy in 2007 for Best Pop Instrumental Album, and touring with a who's who of other six-string heroes as Frampton's Guitar Circus in 2013. Released in 2016, Acoustic Classics featured new performances of many of his best-known songs, including a few favorites from Frampton Comes Alive!

    Peter Frampton @ Snoqualmie Casino

    by NorthBendConcertFan on 8/7/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Peter put on a great show and I have been impressed with the casino showroom since the first concert I enjoyed there. If there were any criticism it might be that security is SO tight, especially since most of the audience at the shows I have been to is 40+.

    Frampton Rocks!

    by bellyflopper on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

An incredible show! He is an amazing musician. I was impressed that he had the courage to do a lot of new material an not be bogged down by the past. I was disappointed that Bob Mayo was no there (his ex-keyboard player).

    Frampton really rocks!

    by biggerfannow on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

First time I have seen Frampton live. First time at the Snoqualmie Casino and it was a great time. The band seemed to be having a good time just doing their thing. The crowd was a little slow to warm up but Frampton teased them into loosening up. He has a great sense of humor. He played old classics, new releases and two songs that will be on his upcoming album. I liked "Mr. Churchill" it sounded like war.

Some things get better with age!

    by Phastphil on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Great venue for intimate affair with one of my favorite performers from yesteryear. Especially liked the 2 new cuts from Fingerprints...the Frampton/Regan Boot it up and the wild pounding version of Chris Cornells Black Hole Sun. My fav acoustic effort was Wind of Change. My jump up and boogie favorites were Show me the way, Plain Shame, All I want to be, Money and of course Do you feel like we do. The final encore number was a haunting version of While my guitar gently weeps that gave me chills. I would definately go again if he decided to come back. Later...Phil

Frampton special in a smaller venue!

    by humblepie on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Peter enjoyed himself last night and we were the lucky ones. Loved the accoustic set in the middle of the concert, the not yet released songs were a treat (hope they come out soon) and Peter rocked as always. The Snoqualmie Casino Ballroom is a smaller venue with great accoustics and to see Peter there was special!! Please come back here soon, loved the banter that a small venue allows and the fun Peter had with it.

    Peter Frampton Still Rocks!!!!

    by MuffyM on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Peter Frampton still rocks like it was 1979. The show was amazing from the first set to the last. He ran through his hits, some new stuff and even a couple from his frist solo album. The energy he displayed throughout the show was simply amazing. He was funny and spoke to the crowd like we were all his friends, over to hang out and listen to the band jam. He is a fabulous guitar player, songwriter and showman. His performance was stellar and his voice still sounds just like it did back in the day. I would highly recommend this event to old fans, new fans and anyone who wants to see a great show!

    Frampton was alive

    by headfox on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

You know, Im sure that Peter and his band get tired of playing his old stuff over and over but you would never know it, he and his band showed great energy and enthusiasum during his 2 hour plus set. He brought back alot of old memories of college and my early 20's. Great show!! The venue was good and its the first time I have seen a show there, very intimate and was 4 rows from the rear. The only thing that I would be upset with is not the artist or venue but some of the patrons were talking so loudly on their phones and with each other and it distracted from the concert, I dont know why they come to concerts not to listen to the music, I dont mind the enthusiasum but if they want to socialize then go out of the venue so they dont have to scream to be heard over the band.

Very talented, but lacks catalogue of good songs

    by LEDPURPLE on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I very much enjoyed Peter Frampton's breezy stage persona. He was very affable with the crowd and quite likeable. Peter also has not lost a lick and has a great voice. With all this natural talent, however, the stakes rise. You expect a lot, because he seemingly has a lot to give. But as I was watching the show, I was struck by how few good songs he really has. Ultimately, for every performer, no matter how much raw talent they have, it always comes down to the quality of the songs. The fall off from the four songs he played from "Frampton Comes Alive" and everything else he played was pretty stark. With so much talent, it seems quite strange that there aren't more good songs, especially given a career that spans 40 years. Even one good song every three years should allow him at this point in his career to play a pretty seemless concert. Unfortunately, the newer songs he played were without melody and were lyrically awkward and seemed very much works in progess. I thought there was a lot of dead time in the show where I was compelled to look at my watch out of boredom [the ultimate bad sign]. Peter needs to get with a good song writer or perhaps join a band of equals (I know, unlikely to happen at this point) so he can apply his immense gifts on material worthy of his talent. Why this hasn't happened sooner is also a mystery. $75 was a little too steep for a back row seat given the quality of Peter's show vis-a-vis other performers making the casino circuit. Despite this critique, most of the crowd was very much "in" to the show and seemed enthralled. So what do I know.

    PF rocks

    by mikh on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Great show! Nice mix of old and new material. Nice to hear "Wind of Change" and "Penny For Your Thoughts", great electric version of "All I Want To Be (Is By Your Side)". His new 2nd guitarist and drummer are excellent. The sound/mix was not nearly as good (a bit muddy) as when I saw Robin Trower at Snoqualmie earlier this year.

    Frampton Comes Alive Again

    by Konaclan on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I saw Peter Frampton over 30 years ago at a very large venue. I have to say last night at Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom, he brought the house down. He is a fantastic musician, very witty and he brought the same high level of energy as when he performed at Angel Stadium low those many vears ago.

    Frampton is stil alive!

    by shotaway2 on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

What a pleasure it was to see such a huge rock icon in an intimate setting. I've never seen PF live and his guitar playing just blew me away. At age 59, his voice is surprisingly also still sounding great. PF is a great showman with a sense of humor and likeable personality. It was amazing to watch this person who's records were played countless times in my youth.

    Good but not great

    by Mark22 on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Solid performance but not up to Frampton's normally very high standards. Seemed a little workmanlike and uninspired. Having said that, Frampton has set the bar really high for himself and this show was probably better than 90% you'll see.

Frampton Comes Alive at Snoqualmie Casino

    by hdcowboy on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

This was my second time seeing Peter Frampton. The first being when he toured with Ringo Starr and his All Star band. That show left me wanting more. So when tickets went on sale for this event I was ready. We were in the second row center stage. He may not look like the young man with the long permed hair. But his energy and stage presence was the same. He started the show with a couple R&B tunes, played several instrumental songs from his Fingerprints disc, a disc in progress as he called it, and plenty of the classics. Though there weren't any pyrotechnics or big stage antics. What you got was great rock n roll show from a true legend. As far as I was concerned he played everything that I could have wanted to hear. And that was before the encore, which ended the show with While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I would suggest this show to anyone who grew up in the 70's and beyond. The crowd sung along to the songs as they knew every word. I will see him if and when he comes back to the area. Great Show!

    Frampton @ Snoqualmie

    by Kawboy on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I can only hope that by the time I'm pushing 60 I'll have as much talent and energy as him. He put on a really good show! His guitar work is still world class, and he obviously enjoys what he does. He took full advantage of the more intimate setting (The Ballroom at the Snoqualmie only holds 1,000 people...) and it was fun to hear him relating to the crowd between songs. I bought his new album and can't wait to check it out! Frampton rocks!!!
