Peter Frampton on Tour

With the Peter Frampton Finale: The Farewell Tour, an iconic figure in rock takes the stage for one last round in 2019. Commencing June 18 in Tulsa and ending October 12 in San Francisco, the tour follows the singer and guitarist's announcement of his retirement due to his battle with inclusion body myositis (IBM), a progressive muscle disorder.

It makes for a poignant occasion for any fan whose life has been touched by Frampton's songs in the five decades since the singer and guitarist first earned renown as the teenage frontman for Humble Pie and became one of the biggest sensations of the 1970s.

The evening will be a celebration first and foremost. The music legend always has been warm and engaging in signature songs like "Baby, I Love Your Way" and "Do You Feel Like We Do," and he wouldn't have it any other way. For the new tour, Frampton performs alongside his longtime bandmates Rob Arthur (keys, guitar, vocals), Steve Mackey (bass), Adam Lester (guitar), and Dan Wojciechowski (drums).

Peter Frampton Background

From co-founding one of rock's first supergroups while still a teenager to releasing the most famous live album of all time, Peter Frampton has had many milestones in a career that began in the London borough of Bromley in the early ‘60s. Inspired by heroes like Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran, the young guitarist began his musical pursuits as an adolescent alongside David Bowie, an older classmate who became his lifelong friend.

By the time he was 16, Frampton was having his first hits with The Herd. When only 18, he co-founded Humble Pie with Steve Marriott of Small Faces and Spooky Tooth's Greg Ridley. The group's mix of hard rock and progressive styles made them a pioneer of heavy metal.

After going solo in 1971, Frampton toured tirelessly in the U.S. His efforts paid off in 1976, when Frampton Comes Alive! became a phenomenon. Topping the Billboard charts for 10 weeks, it sold eight million copies and spawned three smashes in "Baby, I Love Your Way," "Show Me the Way," and "Do You Feel Like We Do."

Later career highlights included playing guitar on David Bowie's Glass Spider tour, winning a Grammy in 2007 for Best Pop Instrumental Album, and touring with a who's who of other six-string heroes as Frampton's Guitar Circus in 2013. Released in 2016, Acoustic Classics featured new performances of many of his best-known songs, including a few favorites from Frampton Comes Alive!

    Frampton @ Snoqualmie

    by Kawboy on 8/6/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I can only hope that by the time I'm pushing 60 I'll have as much talent and energy as him. He put on a really good show! His guitar work is still world class, and he obviously enjoys what he does. He took full advantage of the more intimate setting (The Ballroom at the Snoqualmie only holds 1,000 people...) and it was fun to hear him relating to the crowd between songs. I bought his new album and can't wait to check it out! Frampton rocks!!!

by peterlive on 8/2/09Delta Downs - Vinton

Yes I was the at delta downs. It was a great show.I was on the 11th row.I have not seen him in almost 2 years because of the hurricane cancelled the new orleans show at house of blues. He looked like he was having fun and really sounded great.I will have to say I was excited my girlfriend got him to sign a Saints hat for me.I can't wait for his new cd to be out in January.I would recommend any of his shows. If you haven't seen him in awhile, you will get over the shock of hair loss. But his playing is awesome.

    Frampton Still "Alive"

by catbeckster on 7/28/09Delta Downs Event Center - Vinton

Peter Frampton has been my all time fave since my teens, I'm 46 now. I'm the fan that had every album, not just Frampton Comes Alive so this concert only got 3 stars from me. I realize that most of the people there only wanted to hear those popular songs, and that is the way it is for a lot of singers from that time frame. The concert lasted around 2 hours and we were told NO AUTOGRAPHS! The last concert I went to was in 1992 (yeah, I don't get "out" much) , Frampton in Houston, same thing! I had brought my ticket stubs from my first concert in 1977 this time, thinking maybe he would've given a few autographs. About half way into the concert I realized that I didn't care about getting an autograph anymore! It was nice to see him in concert, I do recommend it if it is local to you (it was 25 minutes for me). Any further, I would be hesitant to recommend. A few songs take up a lot of the 2 hours also. He still plays exactly like he did 30 years ago, minus the flowing hair! I'm sure he's just as tired of playing those same songs over and over and he did introduce some new music that night also. Only die hard fans wanted to hear that. Everyone else got up to go and get more beer at that time.

    FRAMPTOM FOREVER

by nea09 on 7/27/09Delta Downs Event Center - Vinton

Frampton as always is one of the greatist and legendary talents of our time. The music was great ,his interaction with the audience made you feel that he was there to entertain you, and not just for the money.

    Peter Frampton still rocks!

by nick69 on 7/27/09Delta Downs Event Center - Vinton

How many 8 track tapes of Comes Alive! did I wear out.... Having not seen him since Humble Pie, I enjoyed PF's appearance at a small venue. The aging ambassador of rock still has it. Mixing it up by playing old, new and some covers as well this 2 hour show was quite enjoyable. The highlight for me was a couple of tunes from Fingerprints. Come for the memories but stay for the surprises served by an old rocker!

    Frampton at Delta Downs

by MarshaMarshaMarsha on 7/26/09Delta Downs Event Center - Vinton

Loved the intimate setting. Frampton is a generous and personable performer who still loves his music and his audiences. The sound was great, and I can't sat enough about the sweet noise those 5 guys made. I've seen several "large" shows with fat ticket prices, this year. Their sound crews could use a few lessons from Frampton's team. Very clean. It felt more like a party than a concert. I had fun!

    Frampton Rocked

by 70schick on 7/26/09Delta Downs Event Center - Vinton

If you were part of the Frampton comes alive phenomena you will love him in concert. Remember they made the live album because unlike other artists Frampton was better live than recorded. He sounds fantastic. Played a mix of old and new and I enjoyed it all. I really like the small venues, all seats have great up close views. Really enjoyed this event.

    Peter Frampton was GREAT!

by Towmater on 7/25/09Delta Downs Event Center - Vinton

He came out on time and started playing instantly. He brought the crowd to their feet. Music was good and lighting was terrific. The event center was laid out perfect. There did not seem to be any bad seats there. Concert lasted for about an hour and 45 minutes with no break. I would recommend this concert to everyone. He put on a fantastic show!

    Frampton's still got IT!

by igore on 7/25/09Delta Downs Event Center - Vinton

The Delta Downs venue is truly great. A near private showing. The hall is so small, all seats are nearly stage seats so if you see a show you're intrested in get tickets as soon as they go on sale. Sound/lights and seating good enough with easy access restroom facilities and in room bar. overall a nice concert hall and I'll be returning for next show that intrests me. Now for Peter. Yeah he's still got it. At first I was afraid he would be more laid back due to his last CD of instrimental selections, some of which are mellow acoustics, but thankfully I was mistaken cause he still tears up the frets like the Gitar God of old. Truthfull I enjoyed the concert most because due to the size of the venue; He seemed to enjoy himself and smiling, laughing and playing with the crowd made you feel like old friends at home. He's still GREAT and an ICON of our times so go see him. It's well worth the effort and money. So in conclusion Frampton's a God the house is cool see them both.

Still rocks after all these years!

by FramptonFreak on 7/25/09Delta Downs Event Center - Vinton

The show was a great mix of old hits, later songs, and future releases. Peter's guitar playing is never dull. His solos were new and edgy. He put an updated twist on some of his old tunes. I was impressed with his enthusiasm and showmanship throughout the show.
