WINNER OF 5 TONY AWARDS®!

PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, the most magical evening of madcap fun is now on tour!  Hailed by The New York Times as "THE MOST EXHILARATING STORYTELLING ON BROADWAY IN DECADES," this musical play takes a hilarious romp through the Neverland you never knew.  The winner of 5 Tony Awards®, this swashbuckling prequel to Peter Pan will have you hooked from the moment you let your imagination take flight.

  • Peter and the Starcatcher was so clever and unique

by Gingerpeach42 on 6/8/12Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This strong ensemble cast entertains throughout. I was reminded of a "Godspell" approach as they became part of the set, acted out scenarios with narration and added current slang. Kudos to director Roger Rees. This is a play that also has musical moments which is a delight. We laughed and laughed and laughed. The play is clever and staged so uniquely - like nothing I have ever seen before. The story is great, especially if you are a Peter Pan fan. There is so much going on that I must see it again.

A friend and i saw the show Tuesday evening. We left at intermission. This is a show that should have closed opening night. We HATED it. There is not a good thing I can say about it. The TONY committee has lost its marbles!!!!

  • Peter and the Starcatcher was charming and origina

by nanbrite43 on 6/6/12Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

If you love fantasy, remember Peter Pan and Wendy, and enjoy literary allusions and imaginative theatrical invention, you'll love this charming show! It is a pre-quel to Peter Pan in which you learn how the lost boys arrived in Neverland, the back-story re: Captain Hook, the Croc and the pirates and the joys of youth and fantasy. The cast is terrific, Molly and 'Stache are perfectly cast and remarkably talented and the direction is superb. (It is not recommended for children under 10, however, and there is a notice to that effect posted in the theater -- it's a little "dark" and there's a lot of literary allusion that would be over the heads of small fry.) The entire cast is appealing and the staging wonderful. I highly recommend it!

  • Can I get a refund?

I really did not enjoy the show at all. Had just seen One Man, Two Guvnors several weeks prior and this show did not even come close with it's attempt at comedy. The storyline and plot was predictable and boring. I was ready to leave after the first act, but since I spent $100+ on the ticket I refused to leave. The second act was slightly better than the first, but the best part of the show was when it was finally over! Save your money. See something else.

I was thrilled with the pace of the show and the cleverness of the writing. The cast was spot on in their timing and comedy. Of course, the best part was Christian Borle's portrayal of Black Stash. I was convulsing with laughter from his critical "chop." Our boys loved it, but there were not very many kids there. It is a tale for all ages.

  • Peter and the Starcatcher was electrifying!

by Anonymous on 6/6/12Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Don't let the minimal set and costumes fool you, Peter and the Starcatcher is a must see! There is never a dull moment between the actors and the fast paced energy of the show is elevated constantly. Supported by an extremely witty script, the whole ensemble carries the show with enthusiasm, passion and a sense of fun which tends to be rare nowadays in the theatre. Christian Borle as Black Stache is unforgettable; his physicality is spot on and his electric energy is never dropped. Adam Chandler-Berat is a worthy adversary to Christian's comical pirate; his youthful innocence and charm shine through and allows for a wonderful transformation of character towards the end of the show. Celia Kennan-Bolger shines as the character of Molly and fills the house. In fact, all twelve cast members fill up the house. Every member each gave more than 100% and that is exactly why a show like Peter and the Starcatcher is rare; it is actors doing what they do best and still maintaining the sense of play and energy after countless performances. Bravo!

Best of Broadway. Do not miss this incredibly talented ensemble creating magic every show. And the priceless portrayal of Stache by Christian Borles.

  • Peter and the Starcatcher was a delight!

by MissAlky on 5/30/12Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

If you enjoy quick dialogue, great comic timing, a fantastic yet humble ensemble cast and humor sometimes bordering on slapstick but never going too far, this show is for you. Perfect for 12 year olds and above. We all enjoyed. For those who have read the books, Peter is too cynical and dower but all others are wonderful. Christian Borle is AWESOME and Arnie Burton is hysterical and sets the perfect tone. Highly recommend.

  • Just sit back and enjoy it!

This is one of those shows that has all the pieces and allows your mind to put them together. Like 39 Steps, the scenery is minimal, the props are few but all are so effectively used that your mind fills in the blanks. The cast is solid and outstandingly talented. Don't wait to get tickets, you'll want to catch this prequel to Peter Pan while the original cast is still assembled.

My grown daughter and I loved it. The actors were fabulous especially Christian Borle who can do more with his eyes and his face than any 5 actors out there. He had us in stitches every time he was on stage. Go see it. It's delightful.

  • Must watch

Just when I thought this show couldn't get any more innovative, another scene would just blow me away. This show is what good theatre is all about: storytelling. It is magical and lyrical, silly and poignant, witty and funny.

  • Peter and the Starcatcher was brilliant!

by mamabishop on 5/4/12Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Go see it -you will laugh 'til your sides hurt and be amazed by the capacity and dexterity of the players. Awash in talent and cooperation this company never fails to delight and entertain. There is also a tender message in this work, about how trust is a precious thing, and it comes through despite hilarious antics and creative movement and costumes.

I saw Peter and the Starcatcher at the NYTW and walked out telling my wife that this will be on B'way. Had to see it again and came out saying this play has to get a Tony - hope I'm right. I laughed out loud in the Village and laughed again on B'way. If your young or young at heart - you will love this play a totally enjoyable experience.
