Peppa Pig on Tour

Since debuting in 2004, Peppa Pig has become the most famous snout in children's entertainment this side of Miss Piggy. For many toddlers, the British cartoon series is their first binge-watching obsession, thanks to its simple yet colorful animation, bite-sized, five-minute storylines (sample episode title: "Muddy Puddles" — and yes, it's about nothing more than jumping in muddy puddles), and straightforward dialogue that even a three-year-old can easily follow. And for parents, the sound of precocious Peppa, her tantrum-prone little brother George, their bumbling Daddy, and mild-mannered Mommy cackling together at the end of each episode has become so omnipresent, it's as if a whole ‘nother family of relatives has moved into the house. Like most successful children's franchises, Peppa Pig is a merchandising machine, and has spawned offshoot books, films, and even its own amusement park in the U.K. And in recent years, Peppa has stepped off the little screen and onto the big stage in Peppa Pig's Surprise! This live theatrical spectacular re-creates Peppa's world with the help of large life-sized puppets on wheels, costumed characters, and a cheerful headset-sporting host named Daisy who guides you through this pastoral fantasyland. You'll see Peppa partaking in her favorite activities — like going on road trips with her family, meeting with the beloved Mr. Potato, and enjoying a bubble bath after another glorious day spent splashing in the mud puddles. But Peppa Pig's Surprise! differs from the TV show in a significant way: It's a musical experience, with Daisy leading Peppa and friends through a series of boisterous song-and-dance numbers. Oh, and there's another big difference between Peppa Pig's Surprise! and its cartoon counterpart: You can't just watch it slumped in your seat like you would at home during a marathon TV session. This is a highly interactive experience, with Daisy encouraging the kids in the crowd to sing, dance, and play along. Just pretend the theater floor below your feet is a muddy puddle and get hopping.

    Little Less Than Expected

by MindWay on 10/26/23Arizona Financial Theatre - Phoenix

1hr long event but they take a 20 min. break after only 20 min. into the show. Not even the Rolling Stones need that. I believe in this day and age, they can strategize the characters without people dressed in black (to subdue their presence, I assume) in either smaller people in costume or have them dress in the same color as their characters.

    BoooOOoOoooring

by Nick knack on 10/26/23Arizona Financial Theatre - Phoenix

A mediocre show was not enough to entertain my almost 4 year old. She's been to cocomelon and sesame street with no issues and was absorbed. The black morph suits and stagnate puppets were a great distraction. Pappa and momma big have the costumes I expected. My toddler asked to leave prior to the show ending which was unfortunate. 5 months waiting to be disappointed. Also allowing two adults (without a child) into a toddler show is weird.

    Just ok

by Po on 10/24/23San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

My 4 yr old son is in love with Peppa so I thought this would be great. He kept asking me why there was people dressed in black with the characters. I think he was a little lwt down with the situation. He really wanted to meet peppa but I wasn't going to pay an additional $50 for 5 minutes and a photo. The show also started at 2pm which for most kids is right around nap time so you could tell my intermission kids were falling asleep, getting crazy and parents were leaving. I wish the timing was better suited for that. There also should of been two different booths to sell merchandise because the lines were very long and not conducive to little kids having to wait 35 minutes for a toy.

My kid loved it but sound could be better

by Bg on 10/24/23San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

My 3 year old loved the show and still talks about it. I personally thought it was difficult to follow the theme, maybe because the sound was not so clear at the top where I was sitting.

    Poor quality show

by AnaSD on 10/24/23San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

I was SO disappointed with the poor quality of this show. The puppet drivers were dressed in black instead of white. All you could do was focus on them on the bright stage. The sound was terrible. You could barely understand what was being said by the characters. We finally left at intermission.

What Grandpa Pig thought about the show?

by Grandpa Pig on 10/24/23San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

Brought my twin 4 year-old grandsons to their first live theatrical performance and they absolutely LOVED the show. They also fell in love with the actress playing Diasy. Before and after a (perhaps-too-long) 20 minute intermission, they spent a wonderful 1 1/2 hrs. singing, clapping, waving, dancing and jumping to great music and audience-involved drama. Even though they ran out of gas towards the end of the show, it was an exhilarating lifetime memory for all of us.

My grandson loved it! I appreciated that it started on time but didn't think the intermission was necessary.

    Do not go!

by YeahImJen on 10/24/23San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

This was absolutely ridiculous. I do Not recommend. I had 2, 3, 5 and 6 year Olds and they were confused with the fake characters that had actual people pushing them. It was a joke! Not worth the cost. I might go again if it were a free event. What a joke.

    Definitely worth it!!

by Sam on 10/24/23San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

Peppa Pig Live is a show I would definitely recommend taking your little ones to go watch! It’s split up into two half hour sessions with a 20 minute break in between them. It’s perfect because little kids really need that break to be able to focus for the second part of the show. My child danced almost the entire 30 minutes of the last half and he loved it!

    Not worth the money!

by Brooke on 10/24/23San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

Extremely overpriced for the quality of the show. The 20 intermission after 15 minutes of the show was brutal. Felt like there was more intermission than actual show. The $30 tiny peppa dolls being sold in the lobby were also pretty obnoxious. Would never recommend this. Felt very ripped off.

    Bad Seating arrangements

by Haleh on 10/22/23City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Chairs were not appropriate for kids. This show is for kids and you must have thought of a better seating arrangement for kids or at least suggest booster seat for kids. My daughter is 3.5 and she could see the stage at all. The whole time I had my daughter seating on my lap where we paid for 2 seats and realistically just had the on seat. I never recommend this show to any of our friends

    The venue

by Raffy on 10/22/23San Jose Civic - San Jose

You should provide high chair for kids. We bought pricey ticket to be closer to the stage but still my little girl can’t see because there’s no high chair for kids. I have to carry my daughter the whole time.

    Such Fun

by Granna on 10/15/23Kay Yeager Coliseum - Wichita Falls

I took my granddaughters to Peppa Pig Live and we sat on Row 5 ( our seats would have been fine farther back as it turns out and little ones can’t always see over adults ). But by the end the three year old was dancing in the aisle with the rest of the girls. IT was a high energy, fun, musical, sweet presentation and the girls loved it and the parents who have listened to hours of Peppa enjoyed it too.

    Cute Show but…

by Tory on 10/15/23Kay Yeager Coliseum - Wichita Falls

My daughter loved the singing and dancing. I know all the kids get excited, but some parents were allowing their kids to run around and hang on the barriers. They knocked them over and just chaos! This was my first young child show so maybe they’re all like that. I just didn’t like the kids running back and forth and going in and out the aisles through other parents.

    My daughter had a blast

by Kiwirock on 10/8/23Landers Center - Southaven

All the kids there had a blast. We bought floor seats so she was able to dance right in front. So many kids danced throughout the show. She had so much fun and that's what I love. The show has a 20 minute intermission which seemed unnecessary and was never mentioned in prior advertising and communication. Other than that it was fine. Would've like to had seen people in costumes instead of puppeteers pushing the characters around but my 2 year didn't mind it.
