Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

It was an amazing experience. I've always wanted to see Penn and Teller since I was younger and they were never around when I wanted to see them. This was an absolute treat to go see them. It would of been nice to know that the show starts right at 8pm, as everywhere online said they don't start till 9pm, very hard to find where the venue is. Overall it was the best show. Highly recommend to anyone who loves magic!!

  • Fun Show

I'm a huge P&T fan and have seen them at least a dozen times over the years, in various cities and venues. While still an enjoyable show, it's quite a bit quieter and tamer when compared to the shows of previous decades. They included a couple of long-time favorites as well as lots of new routines. While we enjoyed ourselves, I'm not sure I will seek out one of their live performances again in the future. Still, it was an entertaining way to spend our last evening in Vegas!

Loved the show. The magic was exciting, and the banter was hilarious. Penn and Teller find a way to make a huge theater full of people feel intimate.

  • Amazing performance-terrible seating!

We have wanted to see this duo forever. During Covid, their Vegas show kept us entertained. We were very excited to attend as this is our first time seeing a live magic show. However, upon arriving at our seats, we discovered that there was zero legroom. This means that my knees were hitting the person‘s back in front of me. Luckily there was no one sitting to my right, and I was able to turn my body in order to stretch my legs at all. Also, we were made aware that there is no elevator in the theater. That doesn’t seem very accommodating to me. Hopefully there are seats for people with mobility issues on the lower level. That being said, the show was amazing and we had a wonderful time.

by Sara on 10/23/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

Was not impressed with the show, I think they have been doing it for to long. Wasn’t worth the money paid. We went to a lot of shows that were cheaper and a lot better.

  • Disappointing

by Bobby on 10/21/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

I saw this show several years ago and enjoyed it very much. So booked it again when I was in the area. I was extremely disappointed in the show. There was an abundance of talking by the host. Also too much audience participation bringing people on stage, standing in the audience, etc. Did not need to see the host playing the drums. Overall, sorry I went.

  • Did not Dissapoint!

by HeatherinLex on 10/8/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I honeymooned in Vegas and were very sad that we could not attend since P&T did not do October shows in Vegas for a long time. 20 years later and we finally got to see them. It was everything we were expecting, old and new material, witty presentation, and a Jazz show to boot. As long time fans it was well worth the wait!

  • Excellent family magic
