About

Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

  • Unmissable from the Masters of Magic

by Paul on 5/31/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

If you are going to see a magic show in LV see Penn and Teller, no one can match them. Shame the Rio is so far off the Strip as the walk is a bit too far. Penn even does a jazz duet during the warmup.

  • Great Act by Penn & Teller

by Jason on 5/14/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Penn & Teller put on an amazing show at the Penn & Teller Theater at the Rio. Their magic acts were amazing and they interact with the audience with some if their magic acts. This was my first time seeing the duo live and I would definitely go see them again in Vegas. Penn traditionally does all the talking and storytelling while Teller says nothing. My favorite trick performed was the medium water tank trick Teller did.

  • Loved Teller but Penn was doing quite a lot of fillter

by Raj Tastic on 5/14/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

Loved these guys for years - they're obviously amazing but I could tell that the residency is tiring and hard to keep exciting. Teller did some mind blowing tricks (the best one) but there was a lot of relatively boring audience participation tricks that weren't that impressive and a lot of time wasted talking about how they're different to other shows on the strip. Would have much preferred to see amazing tricks

  • Phenomenal show

by Chuck on 5/12/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first opportunity to see them live. It was a terrific show. I was bummed it ended as I was having such a good time. I highly encourage everyone who has the opportunity to see the show to not bypass it.

  • Penn & Teller

by Jan from CLE on 5/11/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fabulous! There was a lot of audience participation, which was nice. At times there was a little too much "filler", but that may have been necessary for the "magic". The magic was top notch and the jokes were great. A very nice surprise ending...

I have never seen Penn & Teller live before and they did not disappoint us. What a visually funny show with a lot of good Illusions and Magic.

  • Good, but not what I expected

by Dragonlady on 5/7/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

I expected more magic. The stories were a bit long winded. They did all wrap up nicely, but too long. Most of the magic was done by Teller and he was the highlight of the show. Penn was more of an MC. He spoke kind of aggressively. I'm used to seeing him more charming and silly. He was kind to the people he brought up on stage, but when story telling, he seemed to talk at the audience. The show was fun and enjoyable; I just wanted more actual magic. The were only about 4 actual magic trick segments over the 90 minute show. 70% was mostly talking.

  • Great show for the whole family

by G Mac on 4/30/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Just brilliant entertainers. It was a fantastic show in a great venue. Very talented magicians obviously who give no indication of how many times they may previously have done the show. It came across as fresh and thoroughly entertained the whole crowd, rightfully getting a standing ovation at the end.

  • A good family show

  • Great and nostalgic!

by PJ on 4/24/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Great to finally see them live after watching them in movies and TV.

  • Really quite disappointed

by Jack on 4/24/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

My wife and I were really quite underwhelmed, especially after seeing other Vegas shows that cost the same. The others were just more entertaining and inspiring. It's a shame, this was our first live magic show, and we left feeling disappointed and frankly short changed. I would have paid half the ticket price for what we got, but at $250 for two people, it was very steep. If you haven't got spare time in Vegas, I'd recommend prioritising other shows over this one.

  • Dazzling Magic

by RF18 on 4/23/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Penn & Teller is always the best most outstanding original magic show ever. It is masterful and a must see. If you are coming to Vegas and have a limited amount of time, this show is the one for sure. Even if you have been to it inn the past, this show still is amazing and has new materials. The theater is very nice and spacious as well.

  • Great fun!

by JM on 4/21/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We really enjoyed the entire show from beginning to end! We are big fans of their “Fool Us” series, so it was really fun to see them in person! They involved the audience in almost every act, which made it so much more fun and engaging to watch! Highly recommend!

  • Not a Live Taping!

by Ryno on 4/19/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Penn and Teller are always great! However, I was a bit disappointed in that it wasn't a live taping of their show. Had I known beforehand, I would have gone a different time. Otherwise, the show was good.

  • Good show

by ESM on 4/14/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Rio Hotel is trash, but the theater is nice and Penn and Teller were great live. Plenty of chances to interact as they go to the crowd often during the performance. Good energy. Get there early and hear Penn playing jazz on stand-up bass for a while before the show!

  • Absolute rubbish
