About

Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

  • Still Going Strong

by Robbie Boyette on 4/6/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Saw Penn & Teller in 2009 at the Rio. The BEST "magic"show I ever saw. Just an incredible amount of talent. Now, in 2025...Penn is 70 and Teller is 77. It's a little different show now. But the guys are still bringing it. Highly recommend.

  • Just ok…

by Jd on 4/1/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

It was ok. I guess we just expected more. A lot of the tricks seemed fairly similar and repetitive. I’m still a fan but was a little disappointed.

Absolutely astonishing entertainment! I had high expectations and they were somehow exceeded multiple times by Penn and Teller. I couldn't possibly recommend their show more.

  • Good but could have been Better

by Nae on 3/31/25The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - HammondRating: 3 out of 5

I enjoyed the show but frustrating that I drove more than 3 hours, paid $80 per ticket, only for barely an hour and a half show. Would have love to have at least been there for 2 hours of a show. It just dropped quickly and a little disappointed.

  • Good show

  • Awesome experience

by Craig D on 3/31/25The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - HammondRating: 5 out of 5

Penn & Teller delivered one of the most jaw-dropping performances I’ve ever seen! Great crowd engagement, solid comedy and a few (very few) old magic tricks that they updated to make them feel new. I honestly can’t think of a single reason not to see them live. Celebrating 50yrs of magic, I can’t see them preforming 50 more so go see them while you can. You definitely won’t be disappointed!

  • A good few magic tricks

by Average Jane on 3/25/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

Overall I would rate it 3.5 out of 5. The few tricks that were done were very good, but way too much talking to set up and review each trick

  • Penn & Teller are FANTASTIC!!!

by Terri San Diego on 3/25/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We have seen P&T before, but it's been years since we saw them at the Rio. Gotta say it, This is one of the BEST show's in Vegas. All the flash and glitter of the strip - WE LOVED THIS SHOW!! P&T are masters of their craft(s) and seem to be such cool dudes at the same time. Very enjoyable!!

  • Enjoyable but not 5 Star

by Christa S on 3/24/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

We had an enjoyable night as a family seeing the Penn & Teller show in Vegas. It had been on our "Vegas To-Do"list for several years and this was the first time that they were in town while we were there. The show is more a 3.5 than a 4. Our family agreed Copperfield and Matt Franco were better shows. The P/T show was fun but "tricks"were A LOT of dialog and took 15-20 minutes of somewhat pointless talking. If tricks had flowed quicker and more to see I would have given it a better score. We still enjoyed ourselves but might have not spent as much money on up front and center seats.

  • Disappointed

by Barb on 3/24/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

Was hoping for a good magic show, but this show had very little magic and a lot of talking. The talking went on and on and on - mostly about how they are such a unique show. But there was very little magic. Overall it was disappointing and not worth the price.

  • Penn & Teller Show was Fantastic!

Loved the show! Very funny and lots of audience involvement. Highly recommend seeing this show.

  • Best in Vegas

by those_yellow_things on 3/17/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Penn and Teller have the best stage presence of magicians in Vegas. Even when the little kiddo that was brought up on stage had some nerve-paralysis, Penn and Teller had him continue the trick and never once made him feel bad about it! Penn may talk a lot but unlike other magicians, his dialogue ultimately results as part of the trick. I’ve seen P&T live twice now, and I hope to do so many more times before they ultimately retire. Happy 50 years to the longest duo in Vegas!

  • Great entertainers!

by Amanda C on 3/17/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Penn and Teller are not only great magicians, they are even better entertainers! So smooth and seamless!

  • Super Fun Show! Great for the whole family!

by Rafael on 3/10/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time watching the legendary Penn & Teller. Great tricks and amazing humor. Loved how much they involve the audience to make each performance unique. Favorite part was when they pulled my 10 year-old son up on stage to help them with a trick. Definitely a great memory we will all cherish for years to come. Thanks for a great show!

  • The legends of magic.

by We love penn on 3/10/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Penn and Teller love magic and it’s this comes across in there shows. If you want to see the legends in action on there home turf and have your mind blown then go and see them. For me personally the only down side was this show was heavy on the mentalist style of magic and I definitely prefer there sleight of hand or bigger stunts like the nail gun trick. But they do change it around often so you never know what you will get.

  • Great family fun

  • Excellent Entertainment

by DaveW on 3/5/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

My first time watching Penn and Teller live and they didn’t disappoint. Some excellent ’magic’ and the final set piece was incredibly well done. Well worth attending

  • Enjoyable, but ever so slightly short.

by Nick on 3/5/25Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

An enjoyable magic show that entertains and makes you laugh. But at around the 90 minute mark in length, it’s slightly short for the money that was paid. I’d have preferred another half hour at least.
