About

Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

  • Penn & Teller = Awesome

by arbytheo on 8/2/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Okay, I am a veteran of Penn and Teller, five times in Vegas and this latest trip to Atlantic City. The boys are awesome. The AC show integrated new and old material that brought gasps, laughter and evoked numerous emotions. Penn is a master storyteller, and it doesn't seem contrived. And Teller, well, it must be the Philly in him because without saying a word he's the ultimate sidekick. The show was just the right amount of time, and left time for gambling, dinner and fun. But the next day we were still talking abou the show with a couple who had gone with us to see PNT for the first time.

  • You Can't Miss This Awesome Show

by mikekester on 7/27/09Rio Hotel & Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The show was way way good. The musician Mike Jones played some sweet Jazz on the piano before the show which set the mood. Penn and Teller called members of the audience up to the stage which was fun and the show has magic, good humor and this is one show you won't want to miss. My wife and I met with Penn, Teller and Mike Jones and they are so nice and funny.

  • Penn & Teller: as entertaining as it gets

by jermaine on 7/26/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

I won't lie: I don't go out to see a lot of shows. I have many favorite comedians and musicians and even quite a few magicians whom I really enjoy watching performances of (video). Penn & Teller are one of the only acts I actually left my house to see. With their original style and influential words, I would recommend P&T over any other show you were planning to see.

  • Best Show in Vegas

TheThe best part of the show was after it is over Penn and Teller go into the lobby to take pictures with audience and give autographs. They don't treat the audience like lepers like many other entertainers. magic was great and they were extremely entertaining and personable. I

  • Best 'Magic' in Vegas

by AndrewPSU on 7/19/09Rio Hotel & Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

There show is incredible! They are fun and unlike many of the other magic acts they don't take themselves seriously in that stuffy self-important way. Their magic tricks are fun and Tellers prestidigitation is insanely well done and quick! I love how they go through and either explain how a trick works OR they take a trick everyone has seen before and move it to the next level, leaving you with a sense of awe. Penn's political banter is just as quick as Teller's hands and the messages woven into their show make it even better. I would recommend their show to anyone (unless they happen to be narrow minded conservative evangelicals who probably shouldn't be in Vegas anyway!). Thank you for a great show!

  • Penn and Teller were fun and totally amazing

by Fatbroad on 7/17/09Rio Hotel & Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The interaction with the audience was amazing. I was chosen to become part of a trick which made for a totally unforgettable and enjoyable experience for both my husband and I. I recommend that anyone that gets the opportunity to enjoy the humor, tricks and magic of this show will walk away with smiles and memories that will last a life time.

  • Penn and Teller Deliver!!!

by PopcornAvenger on 7/16/09Rio Hotel & Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The Penn and Teller show was quite simply amazing. They are artists of the highest caliber. What is most impressive is when they explain a trick to the audience, and then repeat the trick while doing it, without losing any of the wonder and awe of the trick. They also manage to do their tricks in innovative ways, such as Tellers poignant quite moments clipping flowers or Penn's sweet date with a fire eater. Penn and Teller completely respect and value their audience, and that is apparent from the moment you enter the auditorium to the moment you leave the venue!!!

  • Penn and Teller Were the Best

by suea on 7/16/09Rio Hotel & Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Sophisticated magic punctuated by Penn's witty commentary and the ever so "a picture is worth a thousand words" miming by Teller. I love magic but I do not want to know how it is done and Penn and Teller demonstrate how they do some of their magic so I was afraid I'd be disappointed---instead it was even more fascinating. My eleven year old granddaughter, also a lover of magic and budding magician, was thrilled to pieces with the show. I thought it might be too sophisticated for her but I was wrong.I'd reccomend it for children 8 and up. No vanishing cars here but who needs them! I would do this show again and again.

  • Classic Penn and Teller!

It was a combo of comedy magic and illusions, and put together really well, only downfall was it was a little short only an hour and a half, but really entertaining

I liked the show but I was not 100% satisfied. Maybe because I was expecting more.

by fifibambina on 7/14/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first penn and teller show and enjoyed it thoroughly. I would definitely see it again when they come back. They exceeded my expectations and kept me entertained and surprised the entire duration of the show.

  • Penn and Teller was a good show!

by Jendy on 7/14/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

I saw them over a year ago in their Las Vegas venue and I was truly impressed. The Atlantic City show was some of the same so that was a little disappointing, but the entertainment value was still very much worth it. Their running out to meet the audience as they leave the theater is a trademark and a very nice touch.

If you like their show "Bullsh#t", then you will love their live show. One of the "must see"s of Vegas! Smaller venue, audience participation, and a meet and great after the show put this show over the top! Would recommend to anyone

My sons are true fans and so my husband and I brought them....My son Rob knew most of the routines but my Husband and I did not and were truly thrilled. • Penn and Teller ARE THE BEST

by tstei on 7/13/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

If only I lived closer to Vegas-they would be the only reason - as always the show was incredible- I wish they would tour more frequently-great for my whole family- everyone enjoyed the show.Only draw back is that the casino seems to hold the best tickest for their "comp "patrons...I bought the best tickets available right when they went on sale- and they were ok- the family in fron of us just bought the tickest on line the day befor the show...(anfd they were disappointed in the seats)
