About

Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

Penn & Teller (well, Penn anyway) spoke glowingly about their influences in the circus sideshows of yesterday, but they're magicians for our era and are pushing it forward with incredible stunts and funny, eye-opening magical acts that everyone will enjoy. Go and see them and you'll certainly have a great time!

This was my third time seeing Penn & Teller live. I have always been a fan and every time we see them it never disappoints. We got to sit up close this time and it was a great experience. Love Penn & Teller's magic, and their presentation and views are fantastic as well. Can't get enough, wish they toured more often, or we could get to Vegas more often. :)

The show was everything I had hoped it would be. The show provided exemplary value for the ticket price and I am very glad to have had the opportunity to see these two men perform.

This is the second time we have seen them, and both times were just so much fun.The first time was in Vegas, and my husband was picked to do the final trick with catching the bullets in their mouths.

  • Penn and Teller were great

by DoctorJJ on 7/12/09The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

Penn and Teller rarely venture out of Las Vegas, so when they do, it is worth a trip to see them. Not only was the act all that you would expect, but the two performers were all over the place meeting the public and making themselves available to everyone for photo sessions or autographs. This is the first time I ever saw performers leave the stage after the curtain call, run up the aisle to the theatre lobby, and take up stations by the snack bar for autographs. Penn and Teller are two classy performers.

  • A quality show

by klem62 on 7/12/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

A great show by two great entertainers! Penn`s funny and irreverent style of narration teamed with some master sleight of hand by Teller made this a show that could be enjoyed by people of all ages. Even when they explained the magic you were seeing, you were still left scratching your head in amazement. Funny, edgy, amazing, these guys are at the top of their game. I would definitely see them again.

Fabulous...they were great! The best part is they tell you everything they are going to do and they still amaze you. Great comic timing by two experts. They also tell it like it is.

  • A Really Entertaining Show

by Girlinpa on 7/12/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

I had seen Cris Angel and David Copperfield before I went to see Penn & Teller. Copperfield was pretty good. However, Penn & Teller were much, much better. They perform their "tricks" and actually explain what they're doing and why. Not only are they talented, but they are smart and funny. It was a very entertaining show that I'd recommend. Try to get close seats, so you can really observe and appreciate what they're doing.

  • Penn and Teller in Atlantic City

by Retoz on 7/12/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

This was everything (and more) of what we expected from a Penn and Teller show. They are such wonderful professionals and well polished. There was less blood than we expected for them, but that was also a welcome treat! Well done, a once in a lifetime treat or us!

  • fast-paced and innovative

by vertical on 7/12/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

It was all I expected and more. A mix of dangerous magic, sleight-of-hand, comedy and irreverence. They weren't afraid to poke fun at the profession and themselves, all while messing with our brains with another trick. See them if you can.

  • Penn and Teller are the best magicians of our time

by Schlitzie on 7/12/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

In a rare east coast appearance, Penn and Teller amazed Atlantic City audiences with a selection of their most engaging routines. They are different from everyone else in the field for the following reasons: 1) Even though all magic tricks are based on old, even ancient, models, Penn and Teller's routines are different from everyone else's. 2) Penn and Teller have a point of view about the world and they use their tricks to communicate something of that world view. 3) Penn and Teller are relentless in their quest to make their tricks inexplicable.

  • The Penn & Teller show was boring.

by Chornee on 7/12/09Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 2 out of 5

My wife & I were very disappointed with the Penn & Teller show. They were always great on TV and that is what we expected to see, but live they were very boring for the most part. There was only one elusion that was decent and that was when Teller swollowed the needles, then brought them back up on a thread. Otherwise, there were a few funny moments and no real suspense or surprises. We both said that we should have gambled instead with our $150 cost of the show. Chornee

  • Penn and Teller - Too great to miss

by badtazg on 7/12/09The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

Great experience. We had the chance to either see them in Vegas later this year or at MGM Grand at Foxwoods. So glad we choose Foxwoods. The area was nice, very comfortable seats and the show was excellent. Worth every penny.
