Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

Penn and Teller is a legendary show, and for good reason. World renowned magicians with a comedic flair, Penn and Teller will dazzle you with sometimes creepy, sometimes surreal, but always polished tricks. Best of all, they won't insult your intelligence by pretending to have super powers. Nope, they will tell you the whole time they are simply performing tricks, some of which they reveal as they go. The show was about 90 minutes long with no intermission, these guys work hard for your admission, and you can meet them in the lobby after every show!

This is my 4th time seeing Penn& Teller. They are great entertainers who really are very down to earth and extremely enjoyable to watch. I love that at the end of every performance they run to the front so that they can greet shake hands and take pictures with members of the audience. It just shows that they care.

  • Teller's skills loud on Stage

Penn and Teller entertain as they make you realize it's not the figuring out of the tricks that you should be focusing on, but rather the enjoyment of watching 2 masters execute their craft. Enjoy the mystery. Teller's execution of the 7 skills necessary to perform magic was perfect Penn and Teller showing you everything and showing you nothing at the same time. You'll leave entertained by also appreciating the skills these guys bring to it.

  • Magically Mystified

My husband and I really enjoyed Penn and Teller. We have always wanted to see them in Las Vegas but never could find the time to make the trip. Having them perform closer to home, settled our curiosity and increased our desire to see them again. We also had the opportunity to meet and greet which also went well. Penn and Teller were very friendly and personable. I don't think we would've been able to meet them had we seen them in Las Vegas thus making this particular performance more memorable. Thank you and we hope to see other Las Vegas headliners coming to the California Theater soon!

We've been waiting to see them for years, not wanting to go to Vegas just to see their show, so when they came to San Bernardino we jumped at seeing them. They were hilarious & amazing. No big fancy tricks, just good fun slight of hand & prop tricks. It's always fun when they show you how it's done. Loved the goldfish & the glasses exchange tricks. They take audience memebers on stage & it makes it all the more fun. They also stayed after to take pictures & sign autographs for everyone that wanted them. We'd now love to see the Vegas show too!!

We loved their magic tricks and wonderful sense of humor. I can't rate this show highly enough. P&T are master showmen. I heard the audience collectively gasp a few times during the show. The video camera guy trick made me laugh so hard I leaked at least two bodily fluids. Oh, and they waited out in front for everyone to take pictures with.

  • Masters!

This is family entertainment of the highest order. Not expensive by Vegas standards. Great value for money. These guys are not only great magicians but also classic entertainers. The fact they take the time every time to meet the audience after the show is a great testament to their value of the paying public without whom they have no Vegas show and no money! Others take note!

  • Genius !

by Elektrafina on 9/3/10Rio Hotel & Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Exciting and incredibly memorable. It was the best Vegas act we've seen in a long time and worth every last penny. Penn & Teller are STELLAR entertainers and completely engaging live. Go get some of that good stuff and forget the rest if your options are limited. If you have expendible cash, see them again and again. They like to switch things up. You will not be disappointed...but amazed and positively altered. Meet and greet the stars in the lobby after the show. Thumbs waayyy up!!!

This show was great. We even got to meet then and got pictures with them!

  • Got to see it!

by SoFL on 8/26/10Rio Hotel & Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Just book it, you are going to love it! Its unbelievable what they do. The show is about 90 minutes, and at the end you can take pictures with them. They pick people in the audience so if you kind of shy, dont choose your seat in the first 10 rows I would say. Everybody left the show happy. A Must see!

Good show with some great stuff but way too short at about 75 mins left me feeling bit cheated.

  • by DancerWhoLovesMusic on 8/24/10Rio Hotel & Casino - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

Felt the show was just average. Tricks were simply not that thrilling or interesting. Sorry Penn and Teller, maybe I expected too much. Show seemed dated and tired.

  • Don't miss Penn and Teller

Amazing show with great magic and comedy. I will definitely go see them again when I return to Vegas.

  • Fun, good magic, bit preachy

    by decil76 on 8/15/10Rio Hotel & Casino - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Magic was good - Teller knows what he's doing and has good showmanship. We saw similar tricks at Lance Burton later and the performance was better - the red ball vs the bird in the cage was really obvious, Teller's version was much more enertaining. Penn's patter was good, but he did tend to get a bit preachy. A couple of the acts (flag one, metal dectector) didn't really involve either magic or humor - they were just Penn getting up on a soapbox. Didn't really appreciate that. The gore in the saw a woman in half was OK, but would have been just as effective without. Although I do admit it made it more memorable. The trick where blood spattered on the screen - gore was unneccessary and distracting. Overall one of the best shows we saw in Vegas.
