Penn & Teller On Tour
Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.
Penn & Teller Background
America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.
I was expecting much more than a nail gun it was okay but not top notch
the small venue made the experience better and penn and teller took pictures and autographs for everyone after. an amazing experience to say the least.
The show was incredibly entertaining, as well as mystifying! Their combination of humor, magic tricks, and a touch of political commentary made this an extremely enjoyable evening!
PENN &TELLER WERE JUST GREAT ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING.. AND FUNNY ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I'VE SEEN IN YEARS. I WOULD GO SEE THEM EVERY WEEK IF I COULD.....
The show was hilarious, amazing, unbelievable and thoroughly entertaining. I can see them again and again and still love it. They wait on the sidewalk outside theater to sign autographs after the show, a very nice fan-friendly touch.
Hard to see the action from all the seats - and no big set pieces made this an average event for me. They performed a lot of material that I have seen before on TV or the web. Entertaining. What a schlep from Manhattan though.
The show was excellent. The prices were very reasonable, and the employees were very helpful and pleasant.
Penn & Teller delivered everything I could have hoped for- great magic, great personal interaction, fun and Real!
The show was amazing and Penn and Teller were the most sociable stars I have ever seen. The tricks were amazing and they were punctual with when the show began and when it ended. So if you have a chance to see them you should without doubt.
Very entertaining show. My wife and I loved it. The tricks were great, still don't know how they pulled some of it off. Don't pass up a chance to see them.
I thought the show was great. There was a trick with Teller using a gold fish, water and coins. It was amazing. It was fun watching them showing us how they do some of their tricks. Also they interacted with the audience. it was a great show. Afterwards, Penn and Teller signed authgraphs and had pics taken with them. It was great.
Show was fantastic. Loved every minute of it. They greet you after show to allow autographs and pictures.
Fabulous show! I love Penn & Teller. They are funny and extremely entertaining and not afraid to call things as they see it. This show was as exciting as any rock concert I've ever been too...possibly even better. I love the audience interaction/participation, they really know how to connect to the crowd. I think what I liked the most is how much they seem to appreciate their audience, not just through the show but at the end of the show they came out and greeted, signed autographs and took pics...not alot of artists that do that anymore. I highly recommend this show!!!
It was a great show. Very entertaining. I recommend it. The small venue was intimate and enjoyable. And they packed the place.
good clean fun! perfect venue. wish the show was longer (2+ hours). great seats for view and sound. had a last minute additional purchase of H617 & H618. not sure how tickets are dispensed at box office by the attendants, but it appeared there were better seats empty down below when we got there.
I briefly considered moving to Vegas so that I could see them more often. Penn & Teller give a performance that is fast-paced and thought provoking. This was one of the most entertaining nights I have ever experienced!
If you've seen their act before, this was more of the same. It was entertaining but nothing special. Penn Gillette has become more verbose with age and spent much of his time waxing eloquent about what great magicians he and Teller are. Boring! Some of the tricks were slick and the show was somewhat humorous. Overall, they semed to be going through the motions, the show was pedestrian and the act was not worth the admission price. The seats we had in the Penthouse were horrendous. They should not be sold for an event like this.
This show is worth seeing but it won't keep you talking about it afterwards for more than a few minutes. Entertaining at best. Mediocre at worst. Mehhh
What a good show -- we really enjoyed it. There were some tricks we had seen before, but it was still great to watch.
Not many shows leave a lasting impression but penn and teller did!!
