Penn & Teller On Tour
Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.
Penn & Teller Background
America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

Penn and Teller's show at the Chicago Theater was a great family friendly event that i recommend you see if they come to your town. My wife and I were amazed and laughed continually the entire night. I was sad that they no longer come to the lobby after the show and mingle with the crowd.
I've seen Penn & Teller a number of times, usuall.y in Las Vegas. I recall the "Bullet Exchange"from a previous show a number of years ago. Totally amazing! This show had more audience participation than some of the previous shows, but was no less fun and/or "magical". Their comedy woven throughout is also totally expert! I don't want to give anything away, but they are masters of misdirection - even while explaining misdirection to the audience. Their comedic timing helps keep you focused on the things they want you to be focused on as opposed to trying to figure out the illusion. I'd give them 10 stars if that were an available score. By all means, see them if you can and let them take you for a ride you'll enjoy!
I'm a big Sabrina the Teenage Witch fan, so when I saw that some dude who had a cameo had a residency in Vegas, I had to go! My husband got to participate (he selected the diamond suit). I'm still not sure how they got rid of the cow and if the cow was animatronic or real. Anyway, Melissa Joan Hart is an amazing actress and these guys really did a good job with their magic show.
Great show! Penn & Teller were thoroughly entertaining and audience participation was a blast. The Jazz duo pre show were cutting some pretty serious licks.
The show was enjoyable. There is humor added into the magic which made the show more enjoyable.
the whole family enjoyed the show....Penn and Teller were awesome
Penn & Teller have been doing their offbeat take on stage magic for decades now, and they're just as fantastic and irreverent as ever. The show is equal parts hilarious and astonishing, with Teller's fabulous sleight-of-hand and performances reminiscent of the silent-film greats, set against Penn's delightfully over-the-top stage presence. Don't expect to see a bunch of enormous, wildly expensive set-pieces (though they DO have a few) - many of the routines are based around very simple and straight-forward props and devices. It's a nice change of pace from the overly-flashy take on magic shows, and during the show I attended, their opening routine even poked fun at this. Also, it's my understanding that Penn & Teller don't rely on the use of audience plants. If this is true, they really ought to make a bigger point of it, as a few of their tricks appear to be vastly simpler to execute if you are under the assumption they are just calling up plants, and are much more impressive if they are in fact not. Make sure you get there when the doors open at 8:00 PM to hear The Mike Jones Duo playing some nice soft jazz - you may recognize the bass player!
They were great and very entertaining!! Fun time had by all!!
We have been watching Penn and Teller on TV for a few years now and finally got to see them live. What an amazing show. They never let you down from wondering, "How..the..f...!". Awesome show!
They were amazing so funny very magical. Its a must see
What an overall excellent experience from start to finish .
Saw Penn & Teller at Bethlehem's Wind Creek Event Center. The show was very entertaining. They interface with the audience and that gets the whole crowd really involved. Some jokes are adult-oriented, but none are offensive. Really enjoyed watching them.
The venue has a flat floor so the stage was almost invisible for most of the show. Had we known that, definitely would NOT have driven so far to the show. The magic was so-so compared to their show in Vegas. Kind of bummed we ended up leaving early.
Penn &Teller were very good as usual, but the wind creek event center was not set up for a close up magic show. They had worthless video feed of the same view as you had from your seat. They are doing card tricks, needle trick with no close ups. Ridiculous
The show was good but nothing great. They did alot of basic simple tricks and then told us how they did them. Good show and entertaining but no big tricks that really left me in awe..
The Penn and Teller show was great. Over 1.5 hours of illusions, sleight of hand, and amazing feats. My two complaints are 1: seating arrangement in the venue is very poor. Uncomfortable folding chairs, and there is no rise of the auditorium floor, so you have to look through (into) a sea of heads in front of you. 2: Also the show started about 15 to 20 minutes later than scheduled.
Best show in Vegas!!! If you are in Las Vegas You have to see it
I’ve watched Penn and Teller since I was a child and seeing them in person has given me a new core childhood memory in my adulthood. I self-volunteered myself for a bit and got to go on-stage and participate and it was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever got to have.
Have seen these fab men many times but was disappointed with this show. Lots of talk but tricks were average. Expected a t least 2 big tricks but never happened. Travelled from England to see them. Great shame
