Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

  • IT’s Magic in the air!!!

by Kevin K on 11/19/23The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 5 out of 5

Penn & Teller never disappoint! Awesome show from the start till the end! Some tricks I have seen in previous shows, but they are better when you see them in person. The only disappointment was not being able to meet & greet in the lobby after the show as in previous shows here at Caesar’s. Oh well maybe at their next appearance here sometime in the not so distant future! Fingers crossed!

  • Best magic show i have seen so far.

All the magic tricks they performed where unbelieveable. Good to see it at least once.

  • Good show but better at the Vegas Rio

by Doug on 11/19/23The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 4 out of 5

Giant auditorium with large video screens but apparently nobody operated the zoom lenses on the cameras. Both screens were locked off on a medium shot. At one point, Penn said, I hope the cameras are getting a close shot of this, and I thought, nope, these cameras are locked in place. I hope the camera operators were not getting paid. I know it ruins the experience to have too wide a shot on the big tricks, but I think the egg bag trick could have been shot a lot tighter.

  • Meh!

by Lisa on 11/19/23The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 3 out of 5

Seen them 5 times. They were always amazing. This show was quite boring. Too much talking. Some repetitive. They only talked to the audience in front of them or to their right. Wasnt worth the money

  • Penn & Teller were magical

by Pops on 11/14/23Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Took 5 people to the show on 11/11 and all had a great time with laughing reviews on the way home. The show was well paced, moving, no break and the banter from one trick to the next were all connected ... no awkward pauses ... While I have seen 'off' reviews, between Fool Us and their show at the Rio it was impressive entertainment for all (ages 13-76).

Great show! Gets the audience interacting as soon as you walk in the theatre and through out the show! Funny and great magic!! 10/10 would love to see this show again.

  • Not good

by Berny on 10/25/23Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

We took out of town company to the show and we all were disappointed. Penn had too much potty mouth and the Magic was not up to their old standards. It was like watching an old carney show.

  • I know they can do better

by Alfredo on 10/24/23Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

I am a big fan of Penn and Teller TV produced shows, I am from Costa Rica and latam has never been a market for them so I was really enthusiastic about the idea of seeing this show for the first time in my life as they are legendary. I had a spot in the back, unfortunately they only had 1 show during the days I stayed and it was almost sold out, then the show started and with that the dissapointment. The audio was clean, but too low for the people behind, so you need to pay a lot of attention to not miss any word, the 2 screens at the top side are small and low definition so you cannot see the details so it was a bit painful just to watch But hey, it is Penn and Teller, they will delight me anyways, the amount of magic you get is good, maybe 2 or 3 tricks that will leave your mouth open but you get out with the feeling that it was not worth for the money you paid, and ok, las vegas is expensive, but, I also went to see mindfreak and that guy with 56 years old puts a lots more effort into the show. I could say Penn and Teller are tired, I still will give them a chance outside Vegas if I manage to see another live show but at least the one I saw I can only say "they can do better"I don't want to hurt their product or reputation, trust me I am still a fan, but it hurts to say that I was expecting a cherry on top for my vegas trip and they ended up being the lowest point of it.

  • A perfect night out

I had an amazing time seeing Penn & Teller. Lots of laughs, great showmanship, and warm staff. You'd be doing yourself a disservice missing this show.

Fun time from start to finish. Part magic, part comedy, and part music show

  • Non-stop laughing!

by Philadelphia Phil on 10/11/23Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Saw Penn & Teller at the RIO Casino. Had no warning that the entire casino was in a transition with new owners. The entire casino slot machines were flashing and "out of order"except for a small room with about 20 slots. The place was deserted except for the Penn & Teller crowd. From the very beginning, the entire show was funny, relaxed, lots of audience participation, and amazing magic! I saw the two in Philadelphia almost 25 years ago and couldn't wait to have some more belly laughs! They are such professionals. Can't recommend the show enough!! Hope the RIO comes back bigger and better than ever! It was such a fun place a few years ago.

  • Unmagical

by Bad Magic on 10/10/23The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

I did not enjoy this show much at all. It does not compare to Penn & Teller shows I’ve seen on TV. Unfortunately the show was void of any real imagination or magic. I felt it was 99.9% predictable and consequently a big disappointment. This show is geared for families with children 5-10 years old. IF you don’t mind swearing and religion creeping into your family entertainment.

  • Need a earlier showing also

by Nicole on 10/10/23Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Good show but need an earlier showing also. I noticed several older guest dozing off. Maybe they were visiting from the east coast or were early risers due to Vegas being so hot in the mid day. Either way, you’ll capture more of the audience if they weren’t so tired.

  • Teller speaks!!

by Keri H on 10/9/23The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I have been watching Penn and Teller on TV for years, but this was the first time I saw them live. It was so cool to see new material, and even hear Teller speak. They engaged with the audience and kept folks entertained all while telling a story and sharing their magic.

  • Not worth the ticket price
