About

Patty Griffin is among the most consequential singer-songwriters of her generation, a quintessentially American artist whose wide-ranging canon incisively explores the intimate moments and universal emotions that bind us together.

Over two decades, the 2x GRAMMY Award winner - and 7x nominee - and Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement award winner, has crafted a remarkable body of work in progress that prompted the New York Times to hail her for "[writing] cameo-carved songs that create complete emotional portraits of specific people...[her] songs have independent lives that continue in your head when the music ends."

2019 saw the acclaimed release of the renowned artist's GRAMMY Award-winning 10th studio recording, PATTY GRIFFIN. One of the most deeply personal recordings of Griffin's remarkable two-decade career and first-ever eponymous LP, PATTY GRIFFIN made a top 5 debut on Billboard's "Independent Albums" chart amidst unprecedented worldwide acclaim, and later, a prestigious GRAMMY Award for "Best Folk Album."

Griffin's new album, CROWN OF ROSES, is a deeply personal and introspective work that explores themes of identity, nature, family, and womanhood. Emerging from a creative drought during the pandemic, Griffin found herself re-evaluating the stories she'd long told herself. The result is an eight-track collection that is both sparse and emotionally rich, blending folk, Americana, and blues. With CROWN OF ROSES, Griffin offers a record that's both grounded and transcendent -- one that invites listeners to release old narratives, embrace new truths, and stay truly alive while they're here. Having crafted a rich catalog that chronicles love and death, heartache and joy, connection and detachment, Patty Griffin continues to push her art forward, as always imbuing every effort with compassion and craft, uncanny perception, and ever-increasing ingenuity.

  • Disappointing Set

by Long time fan on 10/27/25Carnegie Music Hall of Oakland - PittsburghRating: 1 out of 5

Patti exclusively played her new stuff. The fans want to hear the songs they know, at least part of the set. It was insulting to the paying customers to only play the new songs.

  • Patty is the best

by CM on 10/26/25Carnegie Music Hall of Oakland - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

Her music touches your soul. Her singing is mesmerizing. You always feel that your life and experiences are written in her words She was there in her own life feeling the same things. But the difference is she can write about it so simply and so beautifully. She is profound in her words. I feel more than a fan, like I am a fellow traveler.

  • Great Artist But A Little Somber

    by Racer22 on 10/21/25Chevalier Theatre - MedfordRating: 4 out of 5

Love Patty Griffin's artistry and vocal nuances but to me, the pacing of this set list was very slow overall and pretty somber which dragged it down. There were a few upbeat moments, but I feel as though the set would have been enhanced with more lively punctuation points to contrast with the slower, deeper songs, and inclusions of some of the work from her earlier catalogs.

  • Rickie Rocked, Patty Strummed

by lunytunes on 10/21/25Chevalier Theatre - MedfordRating: 4 out of 5

The show opened with Rickie Lee Jones, who was intense and interesting. Her drummer/vibes player was a total treat, and the accordian/piano player filled in beautifully. I especially enjoyed the harmonies he added. RLJ played many familiar songs from her long career, and played them in the moment, not like the record. It was thrilling. I wish they had played longer. Patty took on a LOT by having Rickie Lee Jones open for her. It was quite literally a hard act to follow. Patty did not help herself by doing so little of her old material. Her new songs may be great but it is difficult to take in so much unfamiliar music without mixing in some stuff the audience knows (and loves). Her drummer was fun; her guitar player was great and the interactions between him and Patty were the highlights of the show for me. Patty played some interesting guitar a few times but mostly she was just strumming, which is not so interesting to me. The sound was good - loud enough, not too loud, good balance and eq.

  • Ricky Lee Jones

by Tasty on 10/21/25Chevalier Theatre - MedfordRating: 3 out of 5

I am calling for Ricky Lee Jones resignation immediately. Almost torture. Patty was good but to much slow new stuff.

  • great performers in a mediocre venue

by Disappointed on 10/21/25Chevalier Theatre - MedfordRating: 3 out of 5

Sound engineering was sub-optiimal- at one point, Rickie Lee asked that one of the musicians (I think it was drums) be turned down. Patti Griffith was sometimes a little flat. I wonder if she could hear above the din. I was in the balcony and could not see due to tall bopping person in front of me. The person behind me had the same issue with me- she asked me to lean to the left if possible so she could see- the seats are stadium configured but the pitch was too low to offer benefit. we ende up watching most of the show on the TV monitor which made us wonder why we came to a live performance

  • Theater was extremely cold

by CCM on 10/21/25Chevalier Theatre - MedfordRating: 2 out of 5

The theater was so cold that it made full enjoyment of the evening impossible.

  • Depressing, slow and dull. Left early.

by Coco on 10/20/25State Theatre - PortlandRating: 2 out of 5

Ricky Lee Jones was a crushing bore and Patty followed with more disappointment. No wonder the tickets were so cheap.
