About

Patton Oswalt continues to leave his distinctive imprint across all areas of entertainment, from his award-winning comedy specials to his many guest roles on television. His most recent comedy special We All Scream (which also marked his directorial debut) launched on Netflix last September and Oswalt was recently nominated for a Grammy for his comedy album. Last year, he starred in the Magnolia Pictures comedy I Love My Dad, winner of the Grand Jury and Audience awards at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival.

Oswalt was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for his performance in Jason Reitman's film Young Adult, starring opposite Charlize Theron. In 2009, he also received critical acclaim for his performance in Robert Siegel's Big Fan; the film was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and Oswalt earned a Gotham Award nomination for his performance.

Oswalt has appeared in many films, including The Circle, alongside Tom Hanks, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Zoolander, both directed by Ben Stiller, Steven Soderbergh's The Informant with Matt Damon, and alongside Seth Rogen in Jody Hill's Observe and Report, as well as Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia and Todd Phillips' Starsky and Hutch.

Oswalt's past television work includes memorable roles on Parks and Recreation, which brought him a TV Critics Choice Award, A.P. Bio, Veep, United States of Tara, Seinfeld (his TV acting debut), and many more. He is also very well known for playing 'Spence' on The King of Queens for nine seasons. Oswalt is also the narrator on ABC's hit comedy The Goldbergs.  He provided the voice for 'Remy' the rat in Pixar's Oscar® winner Ratatouille, and his other voice credits include 'Max' in The Secret Life of Pets 2, Sorry To Bother You, the SYFY series Happy!, Rick and Morty, Archer, and BoJack Horseman.

In 2020, Oswalt's Emmy nominated Netflix special I Love Everything was widely applauded upon release, and he received a Grammy nomination for his comedy album of the same name. In 2017, he received Grammy and Emmy nominations for his album and Netflix special Annihilation, which addresses his own devastating loss and dealing with the unexplainable, while making it all painfully funny.  In 2016, he won the Emmy for 'Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special' for his sixth comedy special Talking for Clapping and a Grammy Award in 2017 for his comedy album. He has been nominated for a total of six Grammys and four Emmys. Oswalt has shot eight TV specials and released seven critically acclaimed albums -- in 2009, Patton received his first Grammy nomination for his album My Weakness Is Strong.

Show was alright for passing a little time on a sunday evening. Not his best material. The opener had some fantastically creative material with terrible delivery--she's a better writer than standup.

  • Always a hoot

Hilarious and insightful, Patton Oswalt killed it.

Brilliant comic with real world views. Tremendous energy and insight and laugh out loud funny.

  • Patton was fantastic!

by Maria on 4/30/19Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

So naturally funny! Love how he shares himself with the crowd in such a comfortable way. I felt like he was one of us... like he could have been a dude from Cincy just hanging out and making us laugh! He really was awesome!

  • It finally happened and it was amazing

by COVID Survivor on 3/6/19Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

First off, Patton does an incredible job selecting his openers. He had two comics that probably combined for half an hour, but were both very funny. Great pace, good crowd control, excellent humor - and it meshed with Patton without ripping him off. Then came Mr. Oswalt himself. He had a great deal of material that I've never heard before, despite owning all of his albums, and watching all of his specials. He did perform one bit that he's done before, which he admitted he was re-hashing, but that was appropriate in NYC... but it was a fantastic new spin on it, and came out incredibly funny, despite my knowing what was coming. On top of this, he had some great fun with three people in the crowd, despite one of them being... a bit banal in his responses. His encore was fast, funny, and then we were on our way. All around great night, and so glad I finally saw him live!!

  • Great time!

    by A. on 3/6/19Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Patton was hysterical just like I was sure he would be, and the Beacon was a GREAT theater. The Loge seats didn't feel far away and allowed a clear view of him, and there was plenty of leg room which is hard to come by in many theaters. Overall it was a great experience.

  • Mensa Mensa

by BubsMom on 3/6/19Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

Enjoyed the show as we are HUGE Patton Oswalt fans. However was disappointed by the lack of originality in the material. Seemed like more than half of the show was improv between audience members and recycled material. Still Love him but just wasn’t what I expected for an expensive night out.

  • Awesome show

by Tonypatrik on 3/6/19Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

All the comics were great very funny, Patton was on his A game, my face hurt from laughing so hard. The Becon is a great venue it's not to big and there isn't a bad seat in the house, we also saw Sebastian Maniscalco there, also a great show.

  • Almost new material

by tonigo on 3/6/19Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Patton was his usual funny self and the venue (the Beacon) was great. However, I'd say about 30% of his material was stuff I heard before, which I found surprising. His comedy specials always have new stuff, but as this was the first time I saw him live, I didn't realize he recycles some of his old material. The new stuff was very good, and I was particularly impressed with his crowd work (something he seems to have added to his shows recently). His rapport with the audience members came across as genuine and his spontaneous responses were excellent. Overall a solid night of entertainment.

  • Awesome!

This was our first time seeing Patton live and we had a great time. Would definitely see him again!

  • So Much Fun!

by amazonflowerchild on 3/4/19Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Having watched various stand-up specials online / on TV, I knew I would enjoy the live stand-up show, but I was unprepared for how much I would laugh. My face hurt and I laughed until I cried at this show. Both his prepared and off-the-cuff comedy were truly impressive and so, so enjoyable. I'd see him again in a heartbeat!

  • If you get the chance, go.

    by J. on 2/26/19Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

What surprised me in a really good way was the absence of any trump material in the show. Oswalt has said in a Netflix special that he doesn't do it & why, but at the end of his live show one of the best take aways was the feeling of laughing with a room full of people & NOT thinking about all that drama. We have to be aware of what's going on, but maybe the key to staying sane is not giving it too much attention. It also helped that Oswalt is really funny. The way he dealt with the crowd & handled hecklers was great. If I say any more I'll wind up quoting his jokes so I'll stop. He's a lot of fun & definitely worth seeing live. He was at the Majestic which is a beautiful place, but know that if you're in the balcony the space is a little tight. If better seats are available they're worth the extra cost.

  • Patton was funny (so was the opener, Irene Tu)

by Ron K on 2/25/19Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

On a number of occasions, openers for comedians are just ok, but this show started out with a great performance by Irene Tu. She did exactly what an opener is supposed to do, loosened up the crowd and started us on a laughing. Then, Patton came out and smashed it! Very funny night, enjoyed by all.

  • KICK ASS AS ALWAYS

by A. Miller on 2/25/19Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely loved Patton Oswalt's performance, he never disappoints. His material was engaging and relevant. Loved his interaction with the crowd. Opening act was sensational.

  • Best Comedy Show!

by eazbailey on 2/25/19Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Patton Oswalt is hilarious - my husband and I had a great time. We've seen a bunch of comedy shows in the past few years and agreed that his show was the best we've seen. The opening comedian (Irene Tu) was also really funny.

  • Amazing

He was hilarious! Show was very well done and loved every min of it! I’d see him again in a heartbeat

  • Great show, minimal interruptions

    by JB2689 on 10/24/18Revention Music Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Patton was at the top of his game and I'm thankful that the crowd was obedient for the most part. My last experience at Revention wasn't as positive as some jerk in the crowd made it his mission to interrupt the opening and headlining acts. I'm glad Revention made some changes to their chairs.

  • Patton Oswalt was is absolutely hilarious!

by AJones on 10/24/18Revention Music Center - HoustonRating: 4 out of 5

Patton Oswalt is seriously one of the funniest, if not the funniest comedians I have ever seen live. I have seen a bunch of high profile comedians over the years and I can’t remember laughing as much as I did at this show. He was great!!!
