About

Patton Oswalt continues to leave his distinctive imprint across all areas of entertainment, from his award-winning comedy specials to his many guest roles on television. His most recent comedy special We All Scream (which also marked his directorial debut) launched on Netflix last September and Oswalt was recently nominated for a Grammy for his comedy album. Last year, he starred in the Magnolia Pictures comedy I Love My Dad, winner of the Grand Jury and Audience awards at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival.

Oswalt was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for his performance in Jason Reitman's film Young Adult, starring opposite Charlize Theron. In 2009, he also received critical acclaim for his performance in Robert Siegel's Big Fan; the film was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and Oswalt earned a Gotham Award nomination for his performance.

Oswalt has appeared in many films, including The Circle, alongside Tom Hanks, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Zoolander, both directed by Ben Stiller, Steven Soderbergh's The Informant with Matt Damon, and alongside Seth Rogen in Jody Hill's Observe and Report, as well as Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia and Todd Phillips' Starsky and Hutch.

Oswalt's past television work includes memorable roles on Parks and Recreation, which brought him a TV Critics Choice Award, A.P. Bio, Veep, United States of Tara, Seinfeld (his TV acting debut), and many more. He is also very well known for playing 'Spence' on The King of Queens for nine seasons. Oswalt is also the narrator on ABC's hit comedy The Goldbergs.  He provided the voice for 'Remy' the rat in Pixar's Oscar® winner Ratatouille, and his other voice credits include 'Max' in The Secret Life of Pets 2, Sorry To Bother You, the SYFY series Happy!, Rick and Morty, Archer, and BoJack Horseman.

In 2020, Oswalt's Emmy nominated Netflix special I Love Everything was widely applauded upon release, and he received a Grammy nomination for his comedy album of the same name. In 2017, he received Grammy and Emmy nominations for his album and Netflix special Annihilation, which addresses his own devastating loss and dealing with the unexplainable, while making it all painfully funny.  In 2016, he won the Emmy for 'Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special' for his sixth comedy special Talking for Clapping and a Grammy Award in 2017 for his comedy album. He has been nominated for a total of six Grammys and four Emmys. Oswalt has shot eight TV specials and released seven critically acclaimed albums -- in 2009, Patton received his first Grammy nomination for his album My Weakness Is Strong.

  • Love Patton, super short

by J. on 2/18/20Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

The show was a lot of fun and Patton Oswalt was great, but the show was extremely short. About one hour total, including the warm-up act. We were in at 8 and out by 9:05 which felt like a very short event to me

  • Awesome performances

by L. on 2/18/20Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

The comedians were quite funny and did not depend on profanity which was a plus even though they did let out some curse words. That’s hard to find now a days. Only complaint is the show could have been a little longer for the money.

  • I normally love Patton, but...

by Rob J on 2/18/20Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

I normally love Patton, but this new hour of material may be his weakest set I've seen. I hardly laughed. I'm a huge fan from the beginning of his career. But if this was the first I'd ever heard him, I'd probably never give him a 2nd chance. He's capable of so much better.

I love Patton Oswalt! He was so funny, we had a great time. The theater is absolutely beautiful. I will be returning for other shows!

  • Patton is at the top of his game!

by Rob in NY on 2/6/20The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I've known of Patton Oswalt for a while, but only recently started listening to his standup, thanks to his standup shows on Netflix. When I found out he was going to perform in NY, I knew I had to go, and so glad I did. Nothing beats the experience of seeing a performance like this live. All the material was new and delivered flawlessly. He spoke of his wife with humor and love, and spoke of what she meant to him without bringing the mood down. The stories he shared about her were as touching as they were funny. I'm looking forward to his net show in New York without question. Absolutely worth checking out :)

  • Love Him!

    by Mama B on 2/5/20The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Been a fan for many years - first time seeing him live. Patton is funny, kind and highly relatable. Even the set ups to the jokes have you laughing before you get to the punch lines. Truly a joyous experience!

  • Beautiful venue!

by Lew on 2/4/20The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Opening Act was hysterical and so was Patton Oswald. However, show was very short. More opening acts were needed and was disappointed Patton was only on for an hour.

  • Fun show

    by J. on 1/16/20Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time I never go to shows alone but my husband was out of town and I love Patton so I bought a single ticket. Staff was very friendly, the venue is gorgeous and Patton was hilarious. Great time

  • Spectacular

by Matt Reign on 1/14/20Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

How do you love not Patton? I know he specifically has a bit about how having children make for worse standups, but his craft has only improved. Great venue, great opener, solid evening!

  • Hilarious

Patton was extremely funny and his set was well organized. He kept the audience engaged the entire time and laughing the entire time.

  • Funny!

by Megon on 11/13/19Clowes Memorial Hall - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I just thought Patton was super chill and down to earth. Loved the fact that he had the guy from Ohio open for his opener...AND I loved that Patton kept coming out to introduce the openers. Overall, it was a lot of fun. (Next time maybe we could get it on a Friday or Saturday, though...the following Monday was rough)

  • Great as Always

This was the third or fourth time I've seen Patton, and he was great as always.

  • Both Comedians were Excellent

by Amber on 11/12/19The Modell Lyric - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

The opening comedian was someone I didn’t recognize, but she was wonderfully witty about how her own jokes connected with an audience, and had a great deal of material I’ve never seen a comedian do before. Patton Oswalt of course has an absolutely polished manner of performing from a career that’s several years older than I am. Someone tried to tell him he had a “great villain voice,” which was heard as “Frankville,” and not even relevant to the joke in the first place. Apart from that guy’s interjection, the show was smooth, and consistently funny.

  • Perfectly Hilarious

by Kate B on 11/12/19The Modell Lyric - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

Patton is always amazing live and this was no exception. His opening act (whose name I wish I remembrred) was great too. Everything happened on schedule, parking was close and easy to get to and from and relatively inexpensive (I’ll pay a lot to not walk far late at night so $15 good all day long). The Lyric staff including security are always polite and top notch. I’ve seen a few shows here and am excited when I can return. Patton being there clinched the fact that I bought these tickets the day they went on sale months ago. Patton’s comedy, which I’ve listened to for years, has matured but hasn’t lost its soul - which for me is based in saying the things others are thinking. Not just political or social barbs, but the weird things we think while waiting for a waitress looking at our kids menu. 5 Stars

  • Funny as always

by K. M. on 10/29/19Global Event Center at WinStar World Casino and Resort - ThackervilleRating: 5 out of 5

Patton Oswalt is one of the funniest and most relevant stand up comedians out there! This show was no exception! If you can’t see him live get one of his albums or watch his specials! You won’t be disappointed!

  • Great Show

by Bill on 10/29/19Global Event Center at WinStar World Casino and Resort - ThackervilleRating: 5 out of 5

Patton Oswalt produced on of the best comedy shows I've seen in quite some time. I expected a good show and was pleased to see one far better than expected. I look forward to seeing him again. Thanks to Winstar for a great evening !

  • Funny

Great show, both he and his opener were very funny.

  • Amazing show

by Chuck D on 7/15/1920 Monroe Live - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show. It was worth every penny. Roommate and I laughed the whole time. Sad there was no merch though.

  • Great idea for Father’s Day

by PK on 7/15/1920 Monroe Live - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

My dad always enjoyed listening to my Patton Oswalt cd’s when I was a teenager so I figured tickets for a live show would be a solid choice. Patton did not disappoint! He’s a well-rounded entertainer with humor for just about any demographic. Having listened to his work over the years I can tell he’s only getting better with age, his perspectives evolving and his jokes staying fresh. The opening act was hilarious as well— I think his name was Orlando. All in all, it was a worthwhile time! 5/5, would go see again.

  • Patton!

by Mike on 7/15/1920 Monroe Live - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I caught Patton Oswalt on a previous GR visit (the infamous stage collapse) and enjoyed that ride, his subsequent Netflix special was touching, funny, one of a kind. His Friday 7/12 show at 20 Monroe was hysterical - my wife was laughing even more than I was - he started and ended with barely a chance to catch our breath. Patton is one funny, smart comedian!
