About

Patton Oswalt continues to leave his distinctive imprint across all areas of entertainment, from his award-winning comedy specials to his many guest roles on television. His most recent comedy special We All Scream (which also marked his directorial debut) launched on Netflix last September and Oswalt was recently nominated for a Grammy for his comedy album. Last year, he starred in the Magnolia Pictures comedy I Love My Dad, winner of the Grand Jury and Audience awards at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival.

Oswalt was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for his performance in Jason Reitman's film Young Adult, starring opposite Charlize Theron. In 2009, he also received critical acclaim for his performance in Robert Siegel's Big Fan; the film was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and Oswalt earned a Gotham Award nomination for his performance.

Oswalt has appeared in many films, including The Circle, alongside Tom Hanks, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Zoolander, both directed by Ben Stiller, Steven Soderbergh's The Informant with Matt Damon, and alongside Seth Rogen in Jody Hill's Observe and Report, as well as Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia and Todd Phillips' Starsky and Hutch.

Oswalt's past television work includes memorable roles on Parks and Recreation, which brought him a TV Critics Choice Award, A.P. Bio, Veep, United States of Tara, Seinfeld (his TV acting debut), and many more. He is also very well known for playing 'Spence' on The King of Queens for nine seasons. Oswalt is also the narrator on ABC's hit comedy The Goldbergs.  He provided the voice for 'Remy' the rat in Pixar's Oscar® winner Ratatouille, and his other voice credits include 'Max' in The Secret Life of Pets 2, Sorry To Bother You, the SYFY series Happy!, Rick and Morty, Archer, and BoJack Horseman.

In 2020, Oswalt's Emmy nominated Netflix special I Love Everything was widely applauded upon release, and he received a Grammy nomination for his comedy album of the same name. In 2017, he received Grammy and Emmy nominations for his album and Netflix special Annihilation, which addresses his own devastating loss and dealing with the unexplainable, while making it all painfully funny.  In 2016, he won the Emmy for 'Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special' for his sixth comedy special Talking for Clapping and a Grammy Award in 2017 for his comedy album. He has been nominated for a total of six Grammys and four Emmys. Oswalt has shot eight TV specials and released seven critically acclaimed albums -- in 2009, Patton received his first Grammy nomination for his album My Weakness Is Strong.

  • A Mad House!

    by T. L. on 11/23/21Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Patton Oswalt's show in Oakland was hilarious and insane. Pretty obvious the crowd hadn't been around people in a LONG time. There wasn't so much 'heckling' as 'supportive yowls and animal grunting'. Patton is a master of crowd-work, but even he was hard-pressed to work with the near riotous crowd at the Fox Theater... which is why the success of the evening shown so brightly, as it all still came together. I recommend seeing him without reservation.

  • Good way to return to live entertainment

    by CalBoy1976 on 11/23/21Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

Patton is a comedy gold mine and he had a good set for us fans on Saturday. The opening act was really good. She's a rising star ( sorry I didn't write her name down, my bad).

  • Brilliant and Very Very Funny

by Joyce A on 11/18/21City National Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

He started with Clown Pubes. Just saying that causes laughter. He talked to audience members and tied what each was saying into one theme. Absolutely brilliant. He talked to them long enough to get enough information to create a theme we could all relate to as human beings occupying this currently very dark space. He told the story of his Valkyrie wife showing Woman Strength that brought not just laughter but glimmers of hope - yeah even though there are intruders, so many intruders, we can handle it is we just arm ourselves with a righteous pink aluminum bat (symbolic to me of courage, determination, doing the right thing). This was our first big venue since the pandemic hit our shores. We laughed and laughed. We felt safe because the venue required proof of vaccination and recommended masks. They even wouldn't let in purses or backpacks -- women had to put their stuff in clear plastic bags (I used a cosmetic bag) nothing nefarious could get in and the staff was protected from having to handle everybody's stuff. That part was a pain in the butt, but I understood the reason behind it. Thank you Patton for delighting us with your wisdom and for weaving a brilliant story.

  • So Good! But…

by Amy R on 11/18/21City National Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

The lounge was great to take a breather in but don’t let the water get so hot! My friend burned her tongue on tea and it hurt for days! Patton Oswalt was everything I could have wanted! My only other issue with the venue was how they packed us in like sardines. The chairs aren’t fixed and they lined them up so they were touching each other. We’re not all the size of twigs. I felt VERY intimate with the strange guy next to me.

  • PATTON IS A COMIC GENIUS

by Don Mega on 11/17/21Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

EVERYTHING... from his opening act Blaine Capatch and his catchphrase, "Brought to you by..." to Patton's encore story about the song, The Christmas Shoes, I was losing consciousness from laughing so hard! I would follow these two geniuses anywhere to watch their show. (Although I do draw the line in AZ. AZ SUCKS!) Thank you, thank you, thank you gentlemen for giving my not so great medical maladies a couple of hours off!

  • Another great show by Patton

by Funky on 11/17/21City National Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Patton focused a bit more on crowdwork but it was so funny. Never fails to put on an enjoyable night of comedy.

  • Great night out!

by DebV on 11/16/21City National Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

My tickets came with VIP parking, so it was a very short walk to the theater. Once inside, my friends and I were greeted with complimentary coffee & chocolate covered espresso beans: the perfect pick me up combo. Of course the bar was open if you wanted a different buzz. The opening comedian was fun & got the crowd ready. Oswalt took the stage & immediately enthralled us with his clown story bit. He was a total delight & his openness about being rusty & using notes was adorable. I totally recommend!

  • Hysterically Funny!

by Brian Robillard on 11/9/21The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Patton Oswalt is one of my favorite comedians. I finally got to see him live and he did not disappoint! Pink Foxx was a great opener as well!

  • Too high of expectations?

by Adam on 11/9/21The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 2 out of 5

Was expecting a killer performance from an experienced/polished comedian and unfortunately Patton didn’t come close.

  • Off the charts funny!

    by Deb E on 11/8/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Patton Oswalt was beyond funny! he was inventive and creative in his humor, with a mind going a million miles an hour! His riffs with the audience members and the sign language interpreter were hilarious. And his opening bit has to be seen and heard, it was so out-there and SO funny!

  • My face hurts from smiling...

    by J. Thomas on 11/8/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Patton is one of my favorite comedians, hands-down, and this is perhaps the funniest he's ever been. Whether he's riffing on pandemic ennui or doing brilliant crowd work, I barely had time to catch my breath between laughs. He certainly makes every comedian moaning about how "it's impossible to be funny anymore" look like a schmuck. The warm-up act, Pink Foxx, was funny as hell, too. I would have happily watched a solid hour with her.

  • Just go

by Brigit bardot on 11/8/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I have had a comedy crush on this guy for the longest time but in spite of my bias I believe you would have a wonderful time at this show.. He follows an outline outline but the show flows freely from the experiences that he is having as the Show moves along. My expectations were high and they were still exceeded.

  • Patton's show is awesome!

    by Ryan S on 11/8/21State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

A really awesome show! Patton is one of the GOATs of comedy and I am so glad I got the opportunity to see him!

  • So much fun!

    by Catherine L. on 10/12/21Kings Theatre - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

Took my boyfriend to see his favorite comedian, Patton Oswalt, for his birthday. It was such an amazing show and a wonderful venue! Grateful for the memory!

  • Expected more

by Sean on 10/12/21The Met Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 3 out of 5

Despite delivering the best riff on clown pubes I’ve heard all year, this performance left us wanting more. After almost 2 years in quarantine, could we have more material? After coming on stage at 7:30, he was waving goodbye at 8:30. And of those 60 minutes, almost 20 (!) of those minutes were spent riffing with audience members. Though his quick wit shined in a few of these interactions, we were disappointed to block out an entire evening… only to get 40 minutes of material.

  • Great time

by Happy dude on 10/12/21The Met Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Dude is still the master of his craft. Had as good a time as I did the first time I saw him 20yrs ago

  • Why did it end?

by Nickname on 10/12/21The Met Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 1 out of 5

The show was super short. I've seen him before and he was amazing. This time he left the stage after like 20 minutes. Everyone was confused. There was an as***** heckler in the front row, maybe that threw him off, no idea. But it was a lot of money for such an amazingly short show.

  • Great show!

by Pat on 10/11/21Kings Theatre - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

Great to see Patton and also get back to normal! Theater was huge and the crowd was crazy!

  • Walked out!

by Justjim on 10/11/21Kings Theatre - BrooklynRating: 2 out of 5

I admit I am not impressed with the show I saw. It was entertaining for a while but after a few audience queries about where they lived and such I just felt Patton was a bit underwhelming. I got about 45 minutes in and just figured I could be using my time better.

  • Bad

by Nell on 10/5/21Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

Terrible boring content. Not happy with this lame performance
