About

Pantera is a heavy metal band formed in Arlington, Texas in 1981 by brothers Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell, and is currently composed of vocalist Phil Anselmo, bassist Rex Brown, and touring musicians Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. After a number of buzzy releases throughout the 1980s, the band dropped their breakout album, Cowboys From Hell, in 1990, which established Pantera as leaders in the groove metal genre. The first group to land an extreme metal album at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their 1994 album Far Beyond Driven, Pantera were hailed as torchbearers of the genre, paving the way for a long and successful reign that included two subsequent albums and four Grammy nominations. The pioneering band has sold over 20 million albums over the course of their career and are credited as a musical inspiration by many acts in the metal space. Pantera entered a hiatus in 2001, and shortly thereafter, founding member Dimebag Darrell was killed onstage in 2004. A new era began when surviving members Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown returned to the road in 2023 for their first tour as Pantera in over 20 years. Now, the band is set to embark on a 2025 outing, titled Pantera’s The Heaviest Tour of the Summer.

Not much to say other than Lamb Of God is always a great live band and PanterA was a great experience… These guys were as close to the original band as it could ever possibly be!! I wouldn’t have changed a thing :)

  • Pantera and Lamb of God concert

by Hope on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

My brother and his wife and I went to the Pantera and Lamb of God concert this past friday at the pavilion at star lake. It was an excellent concert and experience, especially because we were there memorializing our dads 14 year death anniversary. He got us into the bands so it was an amazing way to pay tribute to him, and that’s exactly what the experience was!

  • Awesome show

by Hell ya on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Awesome show!! We sat in the lawn and we had a great time. Renting the chairs is the way to go. I would recommend lawn seats. You can see everything with the big screens.

Amazing concert, arrived at 5 and got a parking space waaaay in the back. Only complaint is on the venue since it took me hours to leave! Pantera took every measure to make the tribute come to life!

  • PANTERA!

by Unearthlyevil on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

This show was monumental! Pantera destroyed from start to finish! The Dimebag gear tent was an awesome experience. Trejo's tacos were quite disappointing.

Lamb of god stole the show but pantera rocked out. Amazing show

  • Excellent

by Zakcash on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I may be a little biased, but here it goes. Pantera is my favorite band. My first concert was ozzfest 01. They were at ozzfest 2000. So I missed them by a year. I waited 23 years for this show and it did not disappoint. It was everything I hopped for. Also for them to bring lamb of God was amazing. I hope they return next year because I will be there.

  • RELIGIOUS!!

by Chip on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I hadn't seen Pantera since '96. Zakk and Charlie outdid themselves! Rex was on his game as always, and "The Kid"was in top form! I laughed, I cried, I screamed, It was amazing! What a great tribute to the brothers!!! I didn't really have expectations, I just longed to hear those songs live again. Man was it killer! Charlie has always been my favorite thrash drummer, and for a 60 year old dude, he SLAYED those tracks! I could shut my eyes and hear Vin! Killer, killer show!

  • One of the best show’s I’ve ever seen!!!

by Metal head on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been following Pantera & Lamb of God for nearly 30 now & they put on one of the best show’s I’ve ever seen! Pavilion at Star Lake was a fantastic venue & the crowd was phenomenal!! On July 28th I saw the best Lamb of God show that I can remember & that crowd assembled the most incredible circle pit I’ve ever seen! If you love metal & you got the chance you must absolutely go see this show! Phil & Rex are paying 10 outa 10 level tribute to their deceased brothers & Lamb of God is just the perfect one-two punch for a metal tag team pairing! METAL-HEADS MUST GO TO THIS SHOW!!!!!

  • Pantera/Lamb of God at Starlake

by Kprice on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

The acoustics were amazing, the seating and field of view were perfect. Lamb of God had fireworks and great lighting, Pantera’s pyrotechnics were second to none, as was the lighting on their set. Can’t wait to see them both perform again!! Alcohol was expensive enough to make me not buy any.

  • Godddamn Electric

by Skinns on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Perfect night. Zero waiting in any line! Goddamn Electric
