About

Pantera is a heavy metal band formed in Arlington, Texas in 1981 by brothers Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell, and is currently composed of vocalist Phil Anselmo, bassist Rex Brown, and touring musicians Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. After a number of buzzy releases throughout the 1980s, the band dropped their breakout album, Cowboys From Hell, in 1990, which established Pantera as leaders in the groove metal genre. The first group to land an extreme metal album at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their 1994 album Far Beyond Driven, Pantera were hailed as torchbearers of the genre, paving the way for a long and successful reign that included two subsequent albums and four Grammy nominations. The pioneering band has sold over 20 million albums over the course of their career and are credited as a musical inspiration by many acts in the metal space. Pantera entered a hiatus in 2001, and shortly thereafter, founding member Dimebag Darrell was killed onstage in 2004. A new era began when surviving members Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown returned to the road in 2023 for their first tour as Pantera in over 20 years. Now, the band is set to embark on a 2025 outing, titled Pantera’s The Heaviest Tour of the Summer.

  • Amazing experience

    by Tom F on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

For those that never had the chance to see Pantera with the original lineup, now is your chance. These guys killed it. As somebody who was lucky enough to see Pantera twice with the original lineup, this didn't disappoint.

  • Excellent concert

by Tj on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Pantera and Lamb of God were both excellent. The inside of the venue is fine but the parking lot has always been a nightmare. Takes forever to get out of the lot and finally onto the road. Baseball and softball sized rocks everywhere out there to twist your ankle on. Police and security sometimes seem hassling to the concert goers. Premier parking is like $60. Probably my least favorite venue

  • Fantastic to see Pantera Again!

by TonyF on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Pantera has been my favorite band ever since I saw them open for Skid Row back in the early 90's. I've seen them 13 times in concert. After the falling out, Dime's murder, and Vinnie's passing, I never thought I'd hear Pantera played live again. This show was special because I was able to bring my son so he could experience what I did so many years ago. Phil, Rex, Charlie and Zakk sounded incredible. It was a great tribute to the Abbott brothers - their legacy lives on through the music.

  • Pantera fukin ruled!

by Robyn on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Pantera 6 times in the last 30 odd years and this show was the best I've ever heard Phil! Awesome show. Of you have a chance to see them, do yourself a favor and DO IT!!! I was introduced to Pantera in 1990ish with Skid Row had no idea who they were nut they rocked my face off!!

  • Pantera kicked ass!

    by Hamer64 on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

RIP Vinnie and Dime! Best anyone could hope for with those two gone forever! Zakk was the only substitute for Dime. I will see them again if they tour!

  • Simply amazing

by Heymofohey on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing seeing everyone play. Those vocals and instrumentals were on point.

  • Do not sit this one out.

    by KPhillips412 on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

If you're on the fence (as I was), or against the remaining members performing without Vinnie and Dime, I advise you don't sleep on this. I decided to go, and was in awe at what I was witnessing. I saw Pantera three or four times in the early 90s with the original lineup so I have something to go off of and compare to. They did the brothers right, picked the right players to step in, and absolutely CRUSHED it. Vinnie and Dime's presence was very apparent throughout the entire show as well. This didn't feel like a tribute or a cover band, it felt like I was back in 1991 through 1994 watching Pantera destroy everything.

  • Pantera rocks

by Heeter on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

One of the best shows I’ve seen this year so far!!! Pantera really rocked it! Love them

  • Great until it was time to leave..........

by JP on 7/31/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Having thousands of people penned into the West Entrance with only ONE gate open to exit is asking for a Hillsborough Disaster to happen. Starlake needs to address this asap. People became unruly and started hopping the gates, as folks were naturally moving further and further towards the exit. Police intervened saying it was "trespassing", which it can't be as people were obviously just wanting to return to their vehicles and leave. If Burgettstown police can't figure out how to safely get people out of the venue, maybe they should contract officers from neighboring municipalities to help. This could have gotten ugly very quickly.

  • It was great

by Joefus on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I miss the brothers however there is nothing we can do except honor them. I think Phil , Rex , Zakk and Charlie did just that. Awesome show

  • Great show. Venue is alright once you get there.

by Snedge on 7/31/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Showed up a little late because of an accident on 376, so getting to reserved parking was painless. I highly recommend paying up for the better parking option. Otherwise, the walk to the gate is very long. The refreshments and food where as expected, ridiculous. Paying 10 times the value for a beer is just sad.

  • Amazing show at a cool venue

by FinnRyke on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Wasn't sure what to expect as we have not been to this venue. The layout was amazing and the vendors were all very courteous making this an all around great experience. The opportunity to take my sons to see Pantera was incredible.

  • Great performance! Great venue!

This was a great concert experience!! Loved the bands, especially PANTERA & loved the venue! Will definitely be back!

  • AWESOME TRIBUTE

by Brian on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I was just in middle school when Pantera was at their height of fame and became a fan later in life. This was a great opportunity to experience the music live even though I know it's not the same as it once was. In my opinion, it's really cool they put this tour together, and you'll regret not going if you're a fan at all because they killed it. Lamb of God put on a headline performance as well.

  • Pantera

  • Absolutely mind blowing! 🤘😎

by ScoMenZ on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

From the venue to the show, it was an amazing evening. As a long time fan. The care and reverence put into the memory of the brothers. Bringing the music back after 22 years. Something I never believed I would witness again. It was truly a dream come true for this old metal head. It's been over two days now, and it's still replaying in my mind. So grateful for this amazing experience.

  • Great experience

It was awesome we had a great time as always can't wait until our next concert in August

  • Pantera

    by Christianne N on 7/31/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Easy parking, got into the gate quickly, and consessions weren't too bad. Leaving still takes a while so just prepare to wait an hour or 2 and then you won't have to deal with the backed up traffic but overall really good and really clean.
