About

Pantera is a heavy metal band formed in Arlington, Texas in 1981 by brothers Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell, and is currently composed of vocalist Phil Anselmo, bassist Rex Brown, and touring musicians Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. After a number of buzzy releases throughout the 1980s, the band dropped their breakout album, Cowboys From Hell, in 1990, which established Pantera as leaders in the groove metal genre. The first group to land an extreme metal album at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their 1994 album Far Beyond Driven, Pantera were hailed as torchbearers of the genre, paving the way for a long and successful reign that included two subsequent albums and four Grammy nominations. The pioneering band has sold over 20 million albums over the course of their career and are credited as a musical inspiration by many acts in the metal space. Pantera entered a hiatus in 2001, and shortly thereafter, founding member Dimebag Darrell was killed onstage in 2004. A new era began when surviving members Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown returned to the road in 2023 for their first tour as Pantera in over 20 years. Now, the band is set to embark on a 2025 outing, titled Pantera’s The Heaviest Tour of the Summer.

Was it the show you expected, short answer no. This show was better than expected, they played hit after hit and Phil was self aware to know what songs he couldn't belt out anymore. His voice sounded better than it did a few years back, do not miss this tribute / reunion.

  • The "return"tour anyone could have asked for

by Darwinvenom on 8/4/23Rating: 5 out of 5

This 2023 Pantera tour is a must see for any Pantera fan! Whether you only know 1 or 2 songs or can recite several albums word for word these guys put on a show for everyone. The energy and enthusiasm to be playing together in front of their fans after such a long hiatus was electric!

  • PANTERA

by SH on 8/4/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazing night. Just hearing these songs live again makes it all worth it! The band is tight as hell. Well aware it's not "Pantera"but could care less as I was singing my ass off all night to these songs. The tributes to vinnie and dime throughout the night was done with class and mad respect. Props to them to get this tour done!

The show was a fitting tribute to two of the best brothers ever to hit the stage. If you get a chance to see Pantera after decades of being off tour, take it!

  • Loudest concert I've ever been to, but disappointed also...

by AAA on 8/3/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Zach's guitar TOTALLY out of tune with most of their songs, was pretty disappointing! He was hitting the right notes, but just so far out of whack, not even close to Pantera-sounding. They need to find a different guitarist. Phil couldn't sing the lower-end of This Love but was fabulous (other than that). Zach has got to go!

  • Absolutely one of the best shows I’ve ever been to

by Kertr on 8/3/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I missed this band back when I was younger now that I’m older, and they started touring again after 22 years of being off I was not going to miss the show and Pantera did not disappoint. Highly recommend it.

  • Pantera and LOG were awesome!

by Norm on 8/3/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Pantera and LOG were awesome! LOG should’ve played longer but no other complaints than that. Zak and Charlie did an awesome job, Those are some major shoes to fill with the Abbott brothers but it was really good.

  • Best concert ever

by Big Mike on 8/3/23Rating: 5 out of 5

10/10. Waited for to long for this although Dime and Vinny aren't with us anymore, it was a Panter show, just like in the 90's/early 2000's. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I still can't hear right 4 days later. Beer prices were a bit crazy but that's on the venue not pantera. Plus this whole cashless society thing is trash; nothing like waiting longer so card readers can sync up.

  • Awesome Live. PanterA rules

    by 200gatecreepers on 8/3/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Awesome live stage performance. Fire, flames, Pyro. Phil can still sing. Charlie on the drums nails it. Zakk is Zakk. Rex at one point did a loud bass drop it was awesome. If you never seen the original lineup you MUST see this show.
