Ottawa Senators History

The original Ottawa Senators were founded in 1883 and were one of the founding teams of the NHL during its early years, winning 11 Stanley Cup Championships between 1903 and 1927. When the NHL started to expand to the U.S., the Senators were sold to St. Louis and became the Eagles, but the team shuttered after one year. The second incarnation of the Senators joined the NHL in 1992. The Senators have since gone on to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs 16 times.

In 2007, the arena hosted games three and four of the Stanley Cup Finals. The arena is also known for being the place where Wayne Gretzky played his final NHL game in Canada.

    Amazing!

by Island girl on 10/22/23Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Loved this experience ten thousand percent. The floors were sticky/tacky and that’s the worst I can say. Even the toilets were clean. Great game. The employees were all great humoured and very pleasant. I can’t wait till I can afford to come back and do it again.

    Amazing

by DH on 10/18/23Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

I enjoyed the game immensely. It did not take long to get into the arena and then to my seat. My one issue would be the length of time it takes to get service at some of the concessions

What an experience I’ve been following the senators since day one ! Both my wife and I went Saturday felt like we were in the Stanley Cup the experience from the fans of staff with outstanding , even Sunday when we went The experience was the same. went to the concession stand. We got whole bunch of stuff but the tap was not working they were having problems with the machine. They just told us to take the food and enjoy . Give both games hundred percent.. keep it up GO SENS GO

Parking not cool and third floor blah...

by Oohhh Canada. on 10/10/23Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Park at the stores and walk. A bit too expensive to park in a suburb. Third floor, no food, toilets, or speakers. Seating was comfortable. Sticky floors. And not enough 2nd floor toilets for two floors of people to go to. Not a brilliant design.

    Fanfest sucked

by BrxBoys on 10/3/23Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Got there early, had to wait in line in order to receive a bracelet to get autographs. Then later while waiting in line for over an hour the players left to catch a plane leaving my son's (11 and 13) without an autograph. So we waited inntwo lines for almost 2 hours for nothing. 2 drinks and 2 popcorns cost over $40. Absolutely brutal

    Will arrive earlier next year

by Sens fan on 10/3/23Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

My daughter and I are huge Sens fans and we arrived at 9:15 and all of the bracelets were gone. We know to arrive earlier next year. We just wished we could have met a few of the players. I have cancer and would have loved this for my daughter. Hopeful that we will have a chance to meet them eventually.

CTC - Excelent; Ticketmaster - Satisfactory

by Laura on 10/2/23Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Everything was great when it comes to the CTC and the Senators, but Ticketmaster needs an upgraded system. When I was purchasing my ticket online, I was told my session ran out of time and my ticket would be released, so I left that page and started over again. I ended up being charged for both orders. I had to "talk"to 2 agents online before I was told 1 order would be returned (still waiting for a refund). Why are customers being charged when they are told that their system timed out?

    Great seats

by Leaffan on 9/28/23Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

First 100 level game and the seats were great. 5 rows up at center ice behind the benches.

    Wash your stadium floors

by Abc on 9/28/23Canadian Tire Centre - Ottawa

Stadium staff were friendly, elevator operator was very nice. The steps and seating area were so sticky our shoes where literally being pulled off our feet with every step we took. It was gross and not very inviting to say the least
