    Disappointing

by Sobiya on 10/4/19Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I was interested in seeing Oslo given all of its award-buzz. I went in cautiously optimistic to see a play about the Palestine-Israel conflict within the narrative framework of the Oslo Accords. I was disappointed to see a story through the lens of white-saviors that reliably treads the wrongheaded ideas of PEP (progressive except on Palestine) liberals who pat themselves on the back for being “balanced”: equating the rocks of Palestinians with the military grade weapons of the Israelis, painting the occupied and oppressed Palestinians as terrorists, and glossing over much of the factual history and documented aggressions and treaty violations of Israel. Good acting, some punchy dialogue, and occasional humorous moments fail to make up for the warped foundation that misrepresents the true beginning and dynamics of the conflict.

    Riveting yet so Entertaining

by Barb on 9/25/19Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This play was so well done. The acting was superb, the story and what happened in Oslo is historical. The events were portrayed in a riveting and entertaining way. I’m not sure we’ll ever see peace between Palestinians and Israelis in my lifetime but I left there with hope because of what they accomplished in such a short time. I hope because of what was accomplished in Oslo.

Fascinating story about a promising agreement, argued and debated thoroughly, that could and should have been a roadmap to peace in the Middle East. Shortest three hours ever. Fabulous casting. Well written. See it

Oslo was an informative and entertaining event

by W. B. on 9/16/19Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Oslo is about the secret meetings held by Israel and the PLO that lead up to the signing of a peace accord between the two entities. These meetings were not sanctioned by either entity but they produced a peace treaty that put aside some of the disagreements that kept them fighting for so many years. It is historically accurate but still entertaining.
