About

Orville Peck on Tour

Mysterious cowboy rocker Orville Peck and his band perform a theatrical version of vintage country music: Sequins, fringe, big hats and the singer's trademark masks, which obscure his face both on stage and off. It's no staid night at the saloon - his backing players are Toronto post-punk band the Frigs, and Peck performs his nocturnal, road-worn songs with bravado. After touring alongside indie-folkers Lord Huron in the beginning of 2019, Peck set off for months of headlining shows in America, Canada and Europe. His festival bookings include Austin City Limits, London's Visions Festival, Washington's Thing, North Carolina's Hopscotch, Nashville's AmericanaFest, Norway's Oya, Sweden's Way Out West, Texas' Trans-Pecos, Pitchfork Paris and Iceland Airwaves.

Orville Peck in Concert

Who is that masked man? Enigmatic troubadour and outlaw country sensation Orville Peck emerged in 2017, a Canadian cowboy who's part rodeo, part Twin Peaks. Though he prefers to keep his identity a riddle - photographed and performing exclusively in one of his fringed masks - Peck has admitted he's played in punk bands in the past, and was a fan of Johnny Cash, X and Neil Young. Released in 2017, his debut single "Dead of Night" was a twilight pick-up truck drive through 1950s twang, '90s dream pop and contemporary indie rock. He promptly signed to esteemed independent label Sub Pop, which released his 12-song debut album, Pony, in 2019. Painting himself as "psychedelic outlaw cowboy" who "croons love and loss from the badlands of North America," Peck sings deeply personal stories and songs under haunting, nostalgic reverb. His debut made an impact thanks to its gauzy textures, vivid storytelling and queer narratives that subvert country masculinity. It made such a splash that Pony ended up on the long list for the Polaris Prize less than two months after its release.

  • Amazing Performance

by Mikey on 8/13/22Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

My friend and I decided to go to this concert because we were thrilled to see that Orville was performing at Massey Hall, One of our favourite venues because no matter where you’re sitting it offers the feeling of an intimate performance. Orville and his band are phenomenally talented, in the sight of so many queer people and queer allies clad in country western attire was nothing short of transcendent. The next time they are performing in the area I will be thrilled at the opportunity to see them again.

  • I can Drown now

by LouDanSwan on 8/13/22Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was a dream come true, I cried, I laughed, cried some more and was taken on a journey by the most unique and amazing voice out there! As gay men - we all need a Bronco in our lives in some way or another. And OP showed us a small way to make that come true. And there are the bloody tears again… Aside from having a total crush on the name sake - Bria and the rest of that extremely handsome and talented band made my heart sing. Orville Peck needs more airtime, more promotion more and more of everything!!! Do yourself a favour - Do Not Miss The Next Time Orville Peck Is In Town - or better yet- see where the next show is, jump on a plane, and be prepared to have your life changed. LDS

  • Danced all night!

by Nina on 8/12/22Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

We accidentally purchased second floor standing balcony tickets and were so happy as we had a private dance floor to boogie all night to Orville Peck and Jeremie Albino’s very danceable shows.

  • Awesome performer

by Starkicker on 8/12/22Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Wasn't sure what to expect. Only heard about him from a magazine feature a couple of weeks before his first show at Massey Hall. Listened to Bronco a couple of times and thought it would be worth checking out and so glad we did. As a performer he is funny, charismatic, authentic, and talented. He sounds great live, his songs are so much better than anything else currently in the genre, and despite the sometimes heartbreaking lyrics the energy is amazing. It was also so cool when he brought his niece out for her sixth birthday and the whole place sang happy birthday to her. Really special moment. We don't go to a lot of concerts but we'll definitely be waiting to catch him live again on his next tour.

  • VIP HA

by Tim and Mark on 8/12/22Rating: 5 out of 5

Orville Peck is one of the best concerts we have ever been to even though Red Rocks was much better last summer than the Mission Ballroom this year. I would not go to this venue again. We paid $50 extra for VIP tickets that were supposed to include priority entry and a special long sleeve concert shirt. The VIP line was shorter but since it was general admission we still had to stake out a floor spot and stand an extra hour inside before the show started. Also the bars were not even open so we had to do without a drink or lose our “priority” spot. We never did receive our promotional gift so don’t spring for the VIP package.

I saw him On the pony tour pre pandemic . He is even better the band really is incredible and the chemistry between them Is really nice . His engagement with the crowd felt so sincere and was special that it was the last show of this leg of the tour . His voice is stronger than ever even with the west and tear of a long road . I will always be a huge fan of him and his band

I’m still riding high on this one! Orville Peck is a master with incredible stage presence and charisma. Such a great set, such an enthusiastic crowd. So grateful to have sears with the best view in the house—the mezzanine! Thank you Fox Theater! You really bring in the best artists.

  • Orville is the best!

    by Logan66 on 6/17/22Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Orville Peck three times with my 24 year old child and we always have a great time. He is a wonderful singer and performer and extremely sexy even if you never get to see his beautiful face. I recommend him to all my friends and let them know you do not need to like country! Heartfelt melodic powerful music from a good hearted person who gives you his heart is what makes music sublime.

i've been to the fox theater a bunch of times over the years and I feel like they've streamlined their venue really well--getting through ticket/security/ID check and the lines for merch and drinks. it's a great time.

Show was great. Orville is truly a musician and songwriter. I am sure I caught Covid there unfortunately even the vaccinated and boosted Did not care for the Ritz. They tried to over charge on everything.
