About

Orville Peck on Tour

Mysterious cowboy rocker Orville Peck and his band perform a theatrical version of vintage country music: Sequins, fringe, big hats and the singer's trademark masks, which obscure his face both on stage and off. It's no staid night at the saloon - his backing players are Toronto post-punk band the Frigs, and Peck performs his nocturnal, road-worn songs with bravado. After touring alongside indie-folkers Lord Huron in the beginning of 2019, Peck set off for months of headlining shows in America, Canada and Europe. His festival bookings include Austin City Limits, London's Visions Festival, Washington's Thing, North Carolina's Hopscotch, Nashville's AmericanaFest, Norway's Oya, Sweden's Way Out West, Texas' Trans-Pecos, Pitchfork Paris and Iceland Airwaves.

Orville Peck in Concert

Who is that masked man? Enigmatic troubadour and outlaw country sensation Orville Peck emerged in 2017, a Canadian cowboy who's part rodeo, part Twin Peaks. Though he prefers to keep his identity a riddle - photographed and performing exclusively in one of his fringed masks - Peck has admitted he's played in punk bands in the past, and was a fan of Johnny Cash, X and Neil Young. Released in 2017, his debut single "Dead of Night" was a twilight pick-up truck drive through 1950s twang, '90s dream pop and contemporary indie rock. He promptly signed to esteemed independent label Sub Pop, which released his 12-song debut album, Pony, in 2019. Painting himself as "psychedelic outlaw cowboy" who "croons love and loss from the badlands of North America," Peck sings deeply personal stories and songs under haunting, nostalgic reverb. His debut made an impact thanks to its gauzy textures, vivid storytelling and queer narratives that subvert country masculinity. It made such a splash that Pony ended up on the long list for the Polaris Prize less than two months after its release.

  • Great Show, Could use a little planning

by SJ on 5/29/229:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

OP put on a great performance and the opener (Teddy & the Rough Riders) was a good pick. The venue (9:30 Club) seemed a little disorganized (we waited for a while before they sorted VIP from regular tickets which mixed up the line, etc) and the change in VIP merch was disappointing but understandable...glad we were told ahead of time though! Overall, the crowd was positive and there were some great individuals around. However, a group of friends inserted themselves into a non-existent space just before OP came out, pushing others out of their way. I know people shuffle around and everyone wants a good spot...but it's a *little* obnoxious when five skinny white girls more or less shove a large black woman and her partner out of their way. At least the Tall Friend didn't stay.

The Raleigh show was my second time seeing Orville live and he was just as charismatic and wonderfully talented as the first time. His shows are the most entertaining ones out there.

This was the most amazing show I have ever been too! The opener was great and Peck had so much energy and great stage awareness. The music was fantastic and he sounds even better live. Was only a casual listener before this show but a huge fan now. If you think you might want go to a concert of his DO IT! You won’t regret it!

  • Making me fall back in love with country

by Warjikin on 5/23/229:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I am such a fan of Orville Peck. His artistic choices are just always the right choice. Getting the chance to see him in concert was just a dream. My one thing is I think for this show the club maxed out the speakers. Overall the experience was great and I loved being back at 9:30 club.

  • A riotous round-up!

by BusterBronco on 5/20/229:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed every minute! I had gotten the VIP ticket and am really pleased with the experience. We got in quickly, the out front staff were great, friendly and efficient. The swag was very nice. Food & drinks excellent. I did have trouble though try to setup the G-pay for my tab. First time I've been to a bar in the post-cash era. Orville was fantastic, sound was great. I was up in the mezzanine with a wonderful view. I would have liked to have sat down though. The 9:30 Club is awesome!

  • A must see

  • Orville Peck

by Jeff on 5/18/22Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Upon arriving the line was extremely long however it moved very quickly. We were shown to our seats when we entered the building. We had great seats with a great view. Orville Peck put on a show to remember. My only complaint is that it ended before I wanted it to. He put on a great performance and the entire experience was fantastic. Can't wait to do it again!

  • LITERALLY THE BEST

    by Richie R. on 5/17/22Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Wow! What an amazing experience! Got tickets last minute, but our seats at the venue were great! Also amazing view over the stage sitting on the edge of the lower balcony. The staff were amazing, very kind and quick to help in anyway! The artists…amazing. ONE OF THE BEST CONCERTS I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. Loved Orville and his band! Truly gave a one of a kind experience, and had us out of our seats dancing most of the time! Wont forget it! 10/10.

  • Amazing show!

by St Pat on 5/17/22Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Orville's voice is fantastic. He works the crowd. The crowd was dressed for the event and was really into the performance.

  • Orville is fantastic

by Cody on 5/17/22Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

I am obsessed with Orville. He was amazing live. Although there should have been a better replacement for a long sleeve t shirt that was supposed to come with the VIP package, or discounts. Since it was switched with guitar picks. Doesn’t seem like a match at all.

  • INCREDIBLE

    by M on 5/17/22Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

BEST LIVE PERFORMER I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE

  • excellent show but no vip perks

by Heidolon on 5/15/22TempleLive Wichita - WichitaRating: 5 out of 5

This show was incredible! Orville has amazing stage presence and I highly recommend anyone who can to go see him. However I paid for two VIP tickets and didn't get any of the perks due to a "supply issue" and haven't heard anything about it since the show date.

  • Immaculate Vibes

by jom on 5/15/22Civic Theatre - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Orville Peck is an amazing performer and the energy of the performance and the resonating energy of the crowd made for a great show. The Civic is also a really nice venue and even basic GA had good views.
