About

Orville Peck on Tour

Mysterious cowboy rocker Orville Peck and his band perform a theatrical version of vintage country music: Sequins, fringe, big hats and the singer's trademark masks, which obscure his face both on stage and off. It's no staid night at the saloon - his backing players are Toronto post-punk band the Frigs, and Peck performs his nocturnal, road-worn songs with bravado. After touring alongside indie-folkers Lord Huron in the beginning of 2019, Peck set off for months of headlining shows in America, Canada and Europe. His festival bookings include Austin City Limits, London's Visions Festival, Washington's Thing, North Carolina's Hopscotch, Nashville's AmericanaFest, Norway's Oya, Sweden's Way Out West, Texas' Trans-Pecos, Pitchfork Paris and Iceland Airwaves.

Orville Peck in Concert

Who is that masked man? Enigmatic troubadour and outlaw country sensation Orville Peck emerged in 2017, a Canadian cowboy who's part rodeo, part Twin Peaks. Though he prefers to keep his identity a riddle - photographed and performing exclusively in one of his fringed masks - Peck has admitted he's played in punk bands in the past, and was a fan of Johnny Cash, X and Neil Young. Released in 2017, his debut single "Dead of Night" was a twilight pick-up truck drive through 1950s twang, '90s dream pop and contemporary indie rock. He promptly signed to esteemed independent label Sub Pop, which released his 12-song debut album, Pony, in 2019. Painting himself as "psychedelic outlaw cowboy" who "croons love and loss from the badlands of North America," Peck sings deeply personal stories and songs under haunting, nostalgic reverb. His debut made an impact thanks to its gauzy textures, vivid storytelling and queer narratives that subvert country masculinity. It made such a splash that Pony ended up on the long list for the Polaris Prize less than two months after its release.

From the moment he took to the stage until his final song, he was a shining, unique mega star from another galaxy! Wow!

  • INCREDIBLE!

One of the best live singers I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. Amazing energy, great dancer, ELECTRIC stage presence. The band was awesome too! I was so excited that I finally got to see him, especially considering he had to cancel the rest of the tour. Love Orville always.

  • Extreme Talent wrapped in handsome package

by Pecker on 6/23/23The Theater at MSG - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The show was everything I wanted it to be, blurring the lines between country, pop, and giving me everything Elvis never could. Add in a performance by an extremely talented drag queen and you have pure perfection...!!

Great show. Terrific entertainer and band. The Theater at MSG was nicely "intimate," and the crowd clearly loved the show.

See Orville live if you get a chance. He has an incredible voice, but even better is his amazing energy and genuine appreciation for his fans.

  • Amazing Show

by Hunter on 4/22/23Old Forester's Paristown Hall - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The show began with the opener (Marci) which lasted about 30-35 minutes and she and her band were incredible. Orville came on shortly after and started right away, there were plenty of fun moments of crowed engagement and he even handed out roses after every song. His band was amazing and his voice arguably sounds better live. The energy was so so so good and everybody was having a great time. One of the best concerts I’ve been to and plan on seeing him again :)

  • Great show - a bit too crowded and hard to see

by SS on 4/21/23Old Forester's Paristown Hall - LouisvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Performer was great. Lines to the bar were sometimes exceedingly long. Visibility was challenging. As a venue - not ideal for a larger crowd,. A sloped/gradually elevated floor would be a welcome addition.

  • An absolutely beautiful connection

by Clay AKA Jive & Clive on 4/17/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Well for one Im not typically big into country music, but Orville Peck transcended modern country tropes and delivered a genuinely unique and absolutely memorable experience at Highwater Festival in Charleston, SC. Their stage presence and crowd engagement was heartfelt and towards the end of the set they even put the camera on a little girl who was a fan and made her feel extremely special and invited her and her family backstage. They have picked up a fan here for life and I hope I will get to see them again sooner than later!

  • Heroic Cowboy singers

by Terry on 4/14/23Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville - AshevilleRating: 5 out of 5

The overall experience of seeing Orville Peck and his band couldn't have been more energizing and calming (ironic, I know) especially at this political moment. Peck makes no bones about who he is, and who he is is someone who understands country music, storytelling, and how to hold a crowd lovingly in his hands. His band was first-rate and after two hours, I wanted more. Excellent venue, and the crowd came together in. the best, most loving way. The encore, Take Me Back was a perfect end to a show that began with one of my favorite songs, Daytona Sand. Perfect!

  • Action packed emotional time!

This is one of the best if not the best concerts I've ever been to. The energy from Orville peck and his band was phenomenal. I loved all of the karate kicks and the use of multiple instruments but the members of the band. He is such a presence on stage. If you have a chance to see them DO IT!

  • So lucky to have seen him at the Massey Hall

by JP Acco on 8/15/22Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Normally I wouldn't travel to see a concert but chose to see Orville Peck in Toronto because the Montreal concert at Corona Theatre was sold out. I thought, let's make a trip to Toronto starting with seeing him do this twang. He's a true showman and great singer songwriter, and his band was phenomenal. He's so sexy, amazing and refreshing on stage. And in that beautiful venue, Massey Hall; an forgettable evening was held. Sports arenas don't give you that experience.

  • Amazing

by AK on 8/14/22Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Orville Peck was so great, a true musical performance, the song selection was perfect from start to finish and it was like Orville Peck had a lasso instead of a guitar and roped us in and fans for life. Massey Hall looked great too

  • Amazing

Orville Peck is amazing! His voice is incredible and his stage presence is the best out there. He was so fun and entertaining, sang all the hits and even sang one of my favourite covers that he does - Unchained Melody. Truly a great experience seeing him live - I’ve seen him twice now and was great both times.
