About

Orville Peck on Tour

Mysterious cowboy rocker Orville Peck and his band perform a theatrical version of vintage country music: Sequins, fringe, big hats and the singer's trademark masks, which obscure his face both on stage and off. It's no staid night at the saloon - his backing players are Toronto post-punk band the Frigs, and Peck performs his nocturnal, road-worn songs with bravado. After touring alongside indie-folkers Lord Huron in the beginning of 2019, Peck set off for months of headlining shows in America, Canada and Europe. His festival bookings include Austin City Limits, London's Visions Festival, Washington's Thing, North Carolina's Hopscotch, Nashville's AmericanaFest, Norway's Oya, Sweden's Way Out West, Texas' Trans-Pecos, Pitchfork Paris and Iceland Airwaves.

Orville Peck in Concert

Who is that masked man? Enigmatic troubadour and outlaw country sensation Orville Peck emerged in 2017, a Canadian cowboy who's part rodeo, part Twin Peaks. Though he prefers to keep his identity a riddle - photographed and performing exclusively in one of his fringed masks - Peck has admitted he's played in punk bands in the past, and was a fan of Johnny Cash, X and Neil Young. Released in 2017, his debut single "Dead of Night" was a twilight pick-up truck drive through 1950s twang, '90s dream pop and contemporary indie rock. He promptly signed to esteemed independent label Sub Pop, which released his 12-song debut album, Pony, in 2019. Painting himself as "psychedelic outlaw cowboy" who "croons love and loss from the badlands of North America," Peck sings deeply personal stories and songs under haunting, nostalgic reverb. His debut made an impact thanks to its gauzy textures, vivid storytelling and queer narratives that subvert country masculinity. It made such a splash that Pony ended up on the long list for the Polaris Prize less than two months after its release.

This show did not disappoint! From perfect weather, to Goldie that opened who was a through back to the ‘80’s, then we moved on to War & Treaty who were a rich duo surprise. Finally, Orville came on the stage and was amazing! He was personable and energetic. He touched on cancelling his shows last year and added a classy touch by handing out roses. His voice is resounding and I was almost in tears when he played my favorite song Hexie Mountains. I would recommend going to a show and I would love to see him again!

What an awesome concert! Really impressed with everything! Especially loved when we were given bottled water at the stage and the free ice water available at the bar! The food was great and the drinks were delicious!

  • Amazing evening

Orville Peck was probably one of the best concerts. I’ve been to in a long time. The art park facility is amazing. The sound was amazing. We were right up front in front of the stage and every everyone around me also had a great time. His show was perfection.

  • Mixed Feelings

by Nellie on 7/4/24Artpark Outdoor Amphitheater - LewistonRating: 3 out of 5

The concert started out with great performances by Goldie Boutilier and War and Treaty was off the charts knockout great! First time seeing Orville Peck and he has a great stage presence and has a wonderful range in his voice as well as being a very talented musician. There was a lot to enjoy about the concert, including the venue and the fact it was a beautiful night. Orville defines himself as a gay cowboy but it is difficult to find anything in the music that smacks of ‘cowboy’. Wearing cowboy hats and clothing does not make one a cowboy. The music is neither country nor alternative country. The sound is really that of popular music, which is absolutely fine. In my opinion the music does not jive with the image.

  • He keeps getting better!

    by Peckhead100 on 7/3/24The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my third time seeing Orville Peck and my first time at the Anthem. I got there right as Orville was going on. I got chills walking up as the band was coming out. It was a wonderful show! He played a great selection of songs from all his albums. His interactions with the crowd between songs, vulnerability about his struggles and notes about writing the songs were admirable. Ugh, How could you not love him? Still fangirling days later. His music was there for me through some very tough times; It’s amazing to see him grow as an artist! He just keeps getting better and better :)

  • One of the best shows I’ve been to.

by RS on 7/3/24The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Opening acts really got the crowd going and Orville Peck sounds the same or better live then he does on albums. His voice made my hair stand on end and it felt like the room came alive.

  • Absolutely amazing

Great openers, Orville played a 100 minute set and even gave roses to folks in the audience. Met a bunch of people before during and after the show and everyone was super friendly. 10/10 vibes

  • An amazing evening

by TheOtterKnitter on 7/3/24The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I expected to enjoy seeing Orville Peck because I've fallen in love with his music the past couple of years. But the live experience was at another level. He's one of the few artists that is truly as strong live (if not more) than they are in a recording - it makes me think of great Indigo Girls concerts. On top of that, War and Treaty were one of the best opening acts I've ever seen. It really felt like we'd bought tickets for full back-to-back concerts. The audience was eating up every note. Can't wait to see them again.

By no means am I a country fan, unless it’s Orville Peck. He is so talented and very engaging to the crowd. Loved how he gave out roses to people that got his attention.

  • An amazing night with Orville Peck

    by Kris K. on 6/17/24The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

We had booked the Gold Spurs VIP package for this concert which included access to the sound check session. There were only 20 of us and Orville greeted each of us and was extremely humble and charming. He played three songs for us (one that was not released yet and not being performed in the concert) and took questions from us along the way. This was intimate and an amazing experience! During the concert, Orville continued being his charming self but with the added showmanship that made this performance outstanding! Orville connected with the audience and even handed out roses to specific people that caught his attention. (Jealous I didn’t get one! LOL) Vocally, Orville resonated in the space and was even better than his recordings. This was perhaps one of the best concerts I have attended in a long time and have become an even bigger fan of Orville. Can’t wait for the next Orville concert!

  • A beautiful voice

by Sav on 6/16/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

His voice and every opener was truly some of the best talent I’ve seen at a concert in so long. Even if you don’t know the words to every song you’ll be going to a concert that makes you feel accepted and in awe of the talent of these musicians. The price of these tickets was a steal compared to how wonderful the show was. 10/10

  • Freaking amazing concert

by Johnny Noon on 6/16/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Loved everything about this concert! It was fun, sassy and Orville has a great set of pipes…and he ain’t bad on the eyes either.

  • Amazing Performer!

by Jackie on 6/15/24Armory - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Orville Peck is the most amazing singer on this planet. He not only entertained his audience, but inspired us to be ourselves and to be vulnerable with those around us. He spoke about the meaning of his songs and what they meant to him. He encouraged us to sing, to dance, and to cry if needed. He used the whole stage and left me in awe. Absolutely amazing and I will be going again. Thank you Orville. Thank you for your honesty and being so open about your journey. Thank you.
