About

Orville Peck on Tour

Mysterious cowboy rocker Orville Peck and his band perform a theatrical version of vintage country music: Sequins, fringe, big hats and the singer's trademark masks, which obscure his face both on stage and off. It's no staid night at the saloon - his backing players are Toronto post-punk band the Frigs, and Peck performs his nocturnal, road-worn songs with bravado. After touring alongside indie-folkers Lord Huron in the beginning of 2019, Peck set off for months of headlining shows in America, Canada and Europe. His festival bookings include Austin City Limits, London's Visions Festival, Washington's Thing, North Carolina's Hopscotch, Nashville's AmericanaFest, Norway's Oya, Sweden's Way Out West, Texas' Trans-Pecos, Pitchfork Paris and Iceland Airwaves.

Orville Peck in Concert

Who is that masked man? Enigmatic troubadour and outlaw country sensation Orville Peck emerged in 2017, a Canadian cowboy who's part rodeo, part Twin Peaks. Though he prefers to keep his identity a riddle - photographed and performing exclusively in one of his fringed masks - Peck has admitted he's played in punk bands in the past, and was a fan of Johnny Cash, X and Neil Young. Released in 2017, his debut single "Dead of Night" was a twilight pick-up truck drive through 1950s twang, '90s dream pop and contemporary indie rock. He promptly signed to esteemed independent label Sub Pop, which released his 12-song debut album, Pony, in 2019. Painting himself as "psychedelic outlaw cowboy" who "croons love and loss from the badlands of North America," Peck sings deeply personal stories and songs under haunting, nostalgic reverb. His debut made an impact thanks to its gauzy textures, vivid storytelling and queer narratives that subvert country masculinity. It made such a splash that Pony ended up on the long list for the Polaris Prize less than two months after its release.

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Mr. Peck in live performance, but I can happily report he slayed! Not only does he have a truly beautiful voice, but the man is positively electric on stage. Both my husband and I were blown away and are now lifetime fans! Go see him as soon as soon as you can!

  • Best Country Music Concert I've Been To

by Country Radio DJ on 9/30/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

My God, it was awesome! The ladies Emily Nenni and Nikki Lane warmed us up. And they were good! But that was nothing compared to what Orville dus. He entertained us, he moved us, he made us sing along, etc. It was the best country music concert I've been to. And I have been to The Grand Ole Opry, Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton, etc. He was THAT good!

Orville Peck is a true unconventional talent! He switches the paradigms and delivers tight, whip smart music that permeates all who attend! His vocal range, musical diversity and stage performance is absolutely infectious! He finds a place for all, and everyone can express themselves in any fashion they'd like. He is refreshingly brilliant and his shows are well curated for the listener's utmost enjoyment. I just love him!

  • Where is Orville

by Peckish on 9/30/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 1 out of 5

The Bill Graham Colosseum is a rundown outdated gigantic room with terrible acoustics. Doors opened at 6:30 and Orville didn’t appear till 9 PM. The original tickets did not tell us that there would be these two very long opening sets. By the time Orville made his appearance I was really annoyed with the whole thing. Also, since I have a hearing issue the noise level of 110 dB is damaging to everyone in the auditorium. Quite disappointing.

  • Orville in SF was everything it should have been

by RJDJSF on 9/30/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Orville Peck is the consummate performer. He played the guitar and piano, sang his heart out, loved his band and handed out roses to kids on shoulders and shirtless hotties. The mix of songs was perfect and his stage moves are EPIC!

  • Orville Peck at Bill Graham Civic San Francisco

by mary anne on 9/30/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

It was a very large crowd, but the staff was excellent. They handled it well and were extremely helpful, polite and attentive. I was very impressed with them. I really do NOT like tickets "on the phone", I would much rather have them printed out.

  • Stellar Performance

After last year‘s cancellations, we could not wait to see Orville back in town. The show exceeded my expectations. Orville is a stupendous performer on the crowd could not have been more enthusiastic. I would highly recommend seeing him if the opportunity presents itself.

This man is everything! Best concert in my 68 years of life. He loves his fans as much as we love him. I never wanted it to end!

  • So great, just over too soon.

    by TallAl81 on 9/29/24Hayden Homes Amphitheater - BendRating: 4 out of 5

I absolutely would give 5 stars, but concerning the noise restraints and the fact that they could have played right up to 10, I was slightly disappointed that they chose not to rock until the end. However, Orville and the band brought an awesome energy and that man is just so talented and inclusive and awesome and I want my 20 more minutes!!! Next time.

  • Orville Peck: A Phoenix Rising

by TB on 9/28/24Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - WoodinvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Orville Peck in concert, a magnetic personality, talented musician and songwriter, shone brightly at Chateau Ste Michelle. He connected with the audience, instructing people to sing along, dance and show emotion. As a gay country western musician, his lyrics tell stories of growing up in a straight world, life on the circuit and other tales of his experiences. He disclosed his struggle with mental health issues and need to take off a year from performing to get healthy. His return to the northwest felt like a reunion. On stage, he mixed ballads with raucous rock. The audience danced with abandon and cheered him on. It felt like the celebration of a phoenix rising!

  • Respect your fans and don’t be 2 hours late.

by Amanda on 9/28/24Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - WoodinvilleRating: 1 out of 5

I get that shows don’t always start on time and that it’s a performance BUT when you have a 6pm concert on a weekday, you’re at an outdoor family friendly venue, and it’s torrential downpour and 55 degrees outside…. It really sucked waiting 2+ hours before leaving still before the artist ever came on. I saw Orville back in 2022 and it was such an amazing show, I completely forgot he did the same thing there. Add to that, there was no opener at the show. So the crowd stood around for an hour and a half after the start time, before he showed up. There’s something to be said about show biz, but there’s also something to be said about having a shred of respect for your fans. People take their time and spend a lot of money to see you, act like that matters in the slightest. Orville is one of my favorite artists but I won’t be going to a show again. :( it was a terrible experience.

  • disappointed

by allie on 9/28/24Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - WoodinvilleRating: 2 out of 5

the venue had a rain or shine policy, so we ended up waiting for ~4 hours in the pouring rain and mud for the artist to come on, only to have everyone stand once the concert began so that, even standing and maneuvering around as much as possible, we could not see the stage at all. really disappointing after getting there so early to get good spots and going through so much rain and waiting. the venue just can’t accommodate everyone standing if anyone further back than a few dozen feet wants to be able to see the stage. a total waste of time, money, and energy. we left after a few songs.

  • Best show I've ever been too

by Forrest on 9/27/24Hayden Homes Amphitheater - BendRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to quite a few concerts in my time including the iconic Warp tour of 2012 and even a 1,000 person venue for Green Day after the iHeartRadio incident stopped that tour. All of those shows were great and the performances were amazing but nothing compared to watching Orville and his openers bring not just an amazing show but an amazing amount of humanity and love to that crowd. It's something I think we are missing deeply in today's art world and I just appreciate him so much as another human being. I deeply admire him as an artist and I would genuinely follow Orville like the Grateful Dead if I had the money to do so. Thank you for coming to Oregon. I cannot wait to go to another show.

  • Remarkable evening

The A.E.E.E.C. show was awesome. The music was incredible. The performer was outstanding, and the crowd was the best ever.
