  • Less than spectacular

    by GirlofFaith2018 on 12/12/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Sadly, I was disappointed especially with the first scene family party; very few dancers on stage making it less spectacular than previous seasons. Hard to get into it. But what the heck! It's the nutcracker ...and that is always an enjoyable experience, and the dancing was wonderful after the intermission. We will go again.

  • Fabulous

by GrandmotherKT on 12/12/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

What a wonderful show. I was in attendance at the Matinee with my 4 yr. old granddaughter, her mother and her other grandmother. We decided to travel 2 1/2 hours to Portland instead of Seattle to see this ballet because of the ease to get there. The Venue itself is marvelous and the ballet, what can I say? It was absolutely outstanding. We are already planning our trip to see it again next December.

  • Magical!

by evadsllim on 12/12/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

I have always loved the music but this was the first time seeing the ballet along with. It was magical! I was most impressed with the Orchestra! Absolutely wonderful!

  • OBT and Pink Martini!

by KathyH on 10/22/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

An exciting, beautiful collaboration! Individually, OBT and Pink Martini are wonderful. Together they are exquisite. Thomas Lauderdale and Nicolo Fonte create magic!

  • Overt gay agenda was distracting

    by Sophia4 on 10/17/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 2 out of 5

Predictable excellent performance by Pink Martini. There appeared to be a gay agenda which was distracting and gratuitous.

  • Rapsody in Blue

by rhathorne on 10/17/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Beautiful and powerful story told through a unique and modern take on ballet.

  • OBT with live music!

by Anonymous on 10/16/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

Excellent dancing and the Rhapsody in Blue piano performance was wonderful. Pink Martini was so fun to listen to and the dancers obviously enjoyed dancing to their wonderful music and vocals.

  • Wonderful Performance

    by DE2CA2OR on 10/16/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

What a wonderful collaboration of music and dance. I thought the first half was unbeatable until the second act. WOW is the only description.

  • Rhapsody in Blue with Pink Martini

    by Kibu12 on 10/16/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

As usual, Thomas Lauderdale and Pink Martini are fun and the music was impressive along with the ballet. Im sad that the production was so short and felt that it should have been a 2 hour venue.

  • A splendid evening of dance and music.

by BonNuit on 10/16/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

The number of ovation bows ended only when the curtain came down. The exhilarated audience was reluctant to let the performers go. Bravo!

  • PINK MARTINI was awsome

by Kislany on 10/16/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Thomas Lauderdale makes any music FANTASTIC. His playing the piano gives goose bumps. I felt that most of the audience were there because of PINK MARTINI. The ballet was not quite my taste since I grew up knowing the Russian Ballet with Nyurelyev and Barishnikov .

  • Half a review since we left at intermission

    by dribble12 on 10/16/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 2 out of 5

This is a review of the first half of the performance since we left at intermission (along with the woman seated near us). I figured anything with Gershwin music was a sure thing, but I was wrong. The pianists were wonderful, but the ballet was a yawner. This was modern dance, not ballet, and it was uninspired. I didn't connect with any of the characters or the story.

  • OBT and Pink Martini

by wflyboy on 10/15/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Enjoyed the program. While I have heard the Rhapsody in Blue a number of times, this arrangement was very special along with the performance by the OBT dancers. The second half was SENSATIONAL!!! You can't go wrong with Pink Martini.

  • Disappointing

by pianojazzlover on 10/15/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

I thought the choreography was uninspired, and the dancing was sloppy. Thomas Lauderdale and his outstanding group were by far the best part of the show and much of the time the dancing was a distraction from their unique talents.

  • ORegon Ballet-Pink Martini Rhapsody in Blue

by PDXjo on 10/15/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Production, collaboration, dramatic, but clean staging created the an outstanding evening. OREGON can be proud of this production.....hope we will share it as it deserves an ENCORE!

  • A little disappointing

    by Carolyn81 on 10/15/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

Thomas and Pink Martini were great, as always. What was disappointing was the choreography. There was a lot of movement to a pose; then more movement to a pose. Rarely any continuous movement unless the dancers were walking into a new formation, like a college marching band. Usually, there are at least some dance moves in any performance that take my breath away. This time, I could barely keep from falling asleep. If this is the best the "resident choreographer" can do, OBT should think about a change.

  • Pink Martini was Outstanding!

    by New2Review on 10/15/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

The first half of the performance was not very good, the choreography didn’t mesh well with the music, the dual pianist are to be commended for their outstanding performance. The second half was much more put together, music and vocals really turned the performance around, dancers looked more relaxed and to be enjoying their craft since the choreography and music blended together. The audience woke up and began tapping their feet. Second half made the entire performance worth going.

  • Rhapsody in Blue is Wonderful!

by PortlandProud on 10/11/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! To see and hear Thomas Lauderdale play Rhapsody in Blue in a duet was mesmerizing - as good as the ballet. Pink Martini was phenomenal too. Highly recommend it.

  • Oregon Ballet Theater with Pink Martini

by Darvel on 10/11/17Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about this amazing performance was absolutely FABULOUS--it was a monumental feast for the senses! Having the superb band and soloist behind the stage really was brilliant. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the dancing of the three main works! But getting into the performance hall with my Ticketmaster receipt was not at all fun: long wait (over 20 minutes) at the "Will Call" window, because we needed actual tickets to get through the door. We will NEVER use Ticketmaster again for any future performance or event!

  • Rhapsody in Blue was amazing

Awesome...Pink Martini with Thomas is always a hit with me.
