Many thanks to a great service staff that helped accomodate our 'late' arrival. This was the first viewing of The Nutcracker for my grandchildren.....and unfortunately, I thought the performance started at 2 pm. Luckily, we arrived 'early' and were escorted to temporary seats until intermission. The performance was wonderful and the girls were mesmerized. Santa's arrival at intermission was also a hit. Thanks to all for making this such a special memory for them. We're already looking forward to next year and promise to be on time.

First Ballet
by bigbolk on 12/14/09Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5This was my first Ballet. I took my wife and surprisingly enough I enjoyed it quite a bit! For anyone who has not been to the Nutcracker, you have to power through the first act which gets a little long and monotonous now and again, but the second act is well worth the wait. some amazing dancing. If you've never been, give it a chance. I think you will enjoy.

Great show, was a pleasure to watch and I had never seen it before. It was a neat story and there was a lot of talent onstage.
Nutcracker was simply a great night, amazing show!
by Hooper14 on 12/14/09Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5We had Orchestra level seats, and really, the Keller Auditorium does not have a bad seat in the house. We felt like we were part of the Ballet, it really was a great artistry masterpiece. I would recommend this show to everyone, its even fun as my wife and I found out to people watch, a specatcular event to just relax, and enjoy the night and be captivated into the nutcracker story.

The Nutcracker
by DrHubbs on 12/13/09Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5It was a delightful production featuring choreography by George Balanchine. There was some fun business injected into the first act, where there is a certain amount of leeway in the staging. Technically the dancing was quite good, and the children who danced in the performance had some challenging steps to do and performed them admirably. The soloists were quite good, especially the chinese trio, who spent most of their solo in the air. The Sugar Plum Fairy was exceptional, and her cavalier was a very strong partner, and together they stole the show - as they ought to.

Fabulous Nutcracker Performance
by VAWM on 12/13/09Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5What a wonderful performance. The sets and costuming were phenomenal. The lead dancers were amazing and the work of the company as a whole was phenomenal. Yuka Iino, the Sugar Plum Fairy, was amazing. I highly recommend this for holiday entertainment.
Well done and diverse
by balletanddancefan on 10/23/09Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5I try to see ballet and dance programs when I visit a city for a conference. This time I was lucky to see the last performance of the Oregon Ballet Theatre's Emerald Perspective. The dancing was fantastic. The set changes were faster than anything I have seen at another program. I especially enjoyed the diverse dance and ballet pieces. My favorites were the contemporary pieces, which I only wish I could have seen in a smaller venue. I will definitely see this company if I ever return to Portland.

Emerald Retrospective
by OBTSarah on 10/12/09Keller Auditorium - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5I loved the idea of highlights from the past performed in one night. It was beautifully put together and danced. It left me wanting to see more of many of the ballets. It was a wonderful evening and I would strongly recomend to everyone.

The Emerald was beautiful. For my first ballet attendance, I would have to just say that I thought all of it was graceful and enchanting!
