Awesome Ballet wonderful entertainment but I would have loved to see more of the Nutcraker in the preformance it seemed he did not have much of a part in this production.

I can describe this show in one word: enthralling!

The presentation was amazing. I was surprised at some of the modifications from years past, but pleased at the presentation, the dance and the energy of the performance. I do miss having a live orchestra to accompany the dance.

I liked Canfield's production better. It felt more Christmasy and the over all dynamic was better. I do like the recorded music as it is louder and fills the room better. We have gone every other year for 20 years. We discussed after last night that we will change our tradition and beginning next year go to a different Christmas production

The performance was great, but no live music. The music is a critical component to the overall experience. For us the lack of a live orchestra made this performance 2 dimensional. I would recommend the Portland Nutcracker to friends with the caveat that there was NOT an orchestra. We will not see the Nutcracker in Portland again until there is live music.

The Nutcracker was a magical show that thrilled myself and my 9-yr-old daughter. This was our first experience seeing both The Nutcracker and a ballet. We will be checking the schedule for our next show, and the next show, and the next show, etc.

Good mix of traditional ballet poses and moves with modern dance and comic dance moves. Use of Children was great.

This our first time going in Portland and it was definitely worth going to. My daughter and I had a girl's night and she enjoyed herself immensely. The set design was fantastic - the snow scene was particularly beautiful. The little children did an amazing job and the principal dancers were very accomplished and a joy to watch. We arrived quite early and they were offering an optional workshop on the history of 'The Nutcracker Ballet' and it was a wonderful teaching lesson. The speaker shared many secrets of the play and my 10 yr old absorbed many of her hints to watch for as we enjoyed the performance. It certainly enhanced our appreciation for many things we may have otherwise missed with casual observation.

I went to see The Nutcracker with my girlfriend last night (12/17/2009). I've never seen it before although I've heard of it many, many times. I must say we were thoroughly impressed wtih the whole show. It is our first ballet show and surely will not be the last. I'm glad my girlfriend had even expressed interest in it :)

I was enchanted with the children - they were natural and talented. The three dimensional sets are amazing, and the snow was so believable. I feel the cast did an incredible job portraying the drama and fantasy.

Much better than last year- dancing was exciting and sets were quiet and beautiful. Only screw up- i thought the orchestra was playing- next year for sure

i was very impressed with the preformance of all the characters in this ballet. I would have prefered that the sound system be a little louder but over all i give it a thumbs up.

A wonderful experience. We would go again. The scenery and changes were clever, the dancers talented. During break smitten little girls in their holiday finery were in front of the stage pretending to be dancers - maybe some day some of them will be!

This show is one of the best ballet shows that I have seen in twenty years,very colorful the music was great and the performers were spectacular..enjoyed every minuet of it.It is a must see performance. You will really enjoy it.

It is wonderful performance. My family had awsome time. One thing I think you can improve. It is the sound around, the music may have more lively. I know it comes from record, it seem to be better on sound system. Thank's

It was a wonderful depiction of a timeless classic. My granddaughter is 11 and she sat absolutely entranced through the whole performance. She only leaned over once to say "That's my favorite song" when the candy cane dancers came on. I enjoyed the Christmas angels "gliding" across the stage. The principals were so beautiful. It was just a wonderful afternoon and a memory not tobe missed.

The ballet was fantastic!! My grand daughter throughly enjoyed it as well! Kudos to the cast.

It was magical. I would highly recommend. A great way to get into the holiday spirit.

I wanted to take my boyfriend to a ballet but he had never been to one before. Because the ballet has an easy story to follow it made it a great one to watch for newbies and he loved it.
